psychomum5 · 26/02/2009 07:11

obviously it isn;t that normal, but I have a mirena coil in now, which I hve never had befoer with smears, and so I wondered if ti was normal to have pain the day after once you have a coil.

am hoping I make sanes.....am hurting lots right now.

my belly is swollen too. i look about 6mths pregnat. and I feel sick it hurts so much.

will tabs help and will it settle, or do I need checking out?

You did. Thank you.

Now go back to sleep and get sorted so that the coil doesn't have to come out - although if you were in pain anyway it sounds as though all was not right even before the smear .

psychomum5 · 27/02/2009 16:52

actually no, thins haven;t been really right in that regard now for about a year, so it may be for the best anyway.

I just worry about how quick the endo will return when it does come out....

ho hum. am in bed resting now anyway

psychomum5 · 28/02/2009 08:47

am feelin better-ish today. still hurting lots but I know what makes it pull and what doesn;t so can avoid some of the pain (IYGWIM).

belly is less swollen, and shoulder pain is gone, altho now have low back pain in the mix.

OP posts:
Jacksmama · 28/02/2009 15:12

I bet you have low back pain from either the uterus pressing on the lumbosacral nerves in the low back or from lying down a lot and resting.

Glad you're a bit better - what a horrible few days for you.

psychomum5 · 28/02/2009 17:10

probably the uterus as mine is tilted backwards and I get bad backache when I am suffering a bad period.

have just done the first show rehearsal with the girls, now back in bed. talk about draining!!

oh, and my brain seems to not be conected to my hands........writing is bad, as is my typing.

OP posts:
Jacksmama · 28/02/2009 18:50

Hee hee, you should have seen me after my op a few weeks ago - talk about not connecting the dots at all! Mum and Dh were very amused!!

I had the same as you, before I had Jackbaby my uterus was tipped and owowowowowowowow, the back-ache with periods!!!

STAY in bed you!!!

psychomum5 · 28/02/2009 19:01

you had an op

is all ok??

OP posts:
Jacksmama · 28/02/2009 20:23

Nothing to worry about. I got a bit messed up when Jackbaby was born. Long saga, I had fuckwitted midwife, should have had a section but blah blah blah, they yanked him out with forceps, horrible tear, haemorrhage... I was referred to a specialist a few months ago because of ongoing pain, and when she took a look in there, she said it looked like someone had set off an atomic bomb in my bits!! So she had to do a little "repair job". Considering how scared I was to be in hospital again (this was all pretty traumatic), it was a really positive experience. But boy, do I know how it is to be scared to have someone examine me!!!

Anyway, I'm still a bit sore but feeling mostly ok - better than you anyway, I think!!

psychomum5 · 28/02/2009 20:28

ouch!!!

oh, poor you.....glad you ae mended tho and it is all better.

I have been told that in future, considering how tense I get with smears and intenals, I will need sedation of some kind. and mine is left over from a bad delivery of DS2. (fuckwitted MW for me too).

still, lets hope that I am fixed soon enough. the volterol is helping, altho it is still painful!

OP posts:
saralou · 28/02/2009 20:47

psychomum, i've just seen where you live , their is a fab consultant at PGH who specialises in endo, Mr Carpenter, get a referral to him.

i hope your tummy is feeling better!

psychomum5 · 28/02/2009 20:49

ooh really. is he based at b'mouth hospital then?

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 28/02/2009 20:50

bugger, just ead properly.

based at poole....sorry

will ask my docs, I was under somone at b'mouth before and they discharged me after I had the mirena coil put in as they said that would cure me.

seems not now tho

Jacksmama · 01/03/2009 02:29

Do get referred to a specialist. It makes all the difference. I'd been in pain for nearly a year when I saw my lovely, wonderful Dr. Williams and she told me that no, it wasn't all in my head, it was, in fact, in my severely damaged bits ... and then she sorted me out... I am bringing her flowers when I go for my follow-up appointment. (AND I am bringing Ativan for myself so I can bear the exam...)

Tiggiwinkle · 01/03/2009 12:50

How is the pain today psycho? Is it better or is it just that the painkillers are doing their job iyswim?

Jacksmama · 02/03/2009 02:23

How are you sweetie?

Tiggiwinkle · 02/03/2009 07:45

Hope you are OK psycho.

psychomum5 · 02/03/2009 09:05

hey you two

I am ok. still very achy and bruised feeling, but have stopped the volterol today to see how things go.

DH arranged for school runs to be done today as he worries about me driving, and am under instruction to have an easy day.

I do think thigs are settling for now. am very reluctant to have the coil removed right now while things are as they are, so am going to wait until my next period and see how it is then. If I am in pain, it is coming out!

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 02/03/2009 09:08

oh, am reluctant cos of the pain involved. am being Big Wimp

OP posts:
Stretch · 02/03/2009 09:22

Oh missed this, down to the kids having the gastro bug for 6 days!! (How is that even possible?) Including the baby which was hard because he was in pain.

Hope you are feeling better. I'd rest, go back to bed!

Tiggiwinkle · 02/03/2009 10:17

Glad you are feeling a bit better! FWIW I did not even realise the nurse had done it when I had my Mirena removed-and I was expecting it to be unpleasant too!

I realise you have had a few problems in those regions which may make it more complicated though...

psychomum5 · 02/03/2009 10:37

oh stretch. poor you, and poor babies (all of them!).

hope they are all on the mend now.

tiggi, tis probably my tenseness that will go against me as much as any damage inside of me. I do clench!

OP posts:
bellavita · 02/03/2009 13:34

pyscho - I am having my coil removed two weeks today (am soooo not looking forward to it). It has come to the end of it's life span.

On Friday I went to the Dr's to discuss other methods of contraception and she wanted to take it out there and then and I wimped out - said I needed to pysch myself up for it and take some paracetamol first
