For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I can't believe I wasn't invited to the party last night

Am thinking of you and your dd today Boco. I'm sending you the right result and some stamina and strength to get through the day.

Atilla - the park in our village is carpeted with snowdrops. It is beautiful. Spring is on the way Enjoy your hike today.

Guadalupe · 24/02/2009 08:54

Toot - Make them in advance while they're doing something else. They stay hot if you add each one to a plate in some tin foil and then you can carry a steaming pile to the table.

Mine would be unbearable if I cooked them one by one, there'd be forks banging on the table and all sorts!

Can't Mr Pink upload some photos? Is he unaware of our importance in your family life, Pink? Break the good news to Aunt Norah and Uncle Ned and then give detailed accounts and pictures to impatient veggers, of course. Why does he not know procedure?

Guadalupe · 24/02/2009 08:56

I have seen a pic of UD's baby yesterday, born YESTERDAY. (Gorgeous)

When was it now, Saturday or something? Tsk.

Tatties · 24/02/2009 08:59

I fancy doing pancakes today! But the last time I made them ds said they were "a bit cheesy"

Tatties · 24/02/2009 09:01

That's a good tip Guad about the foil

Guadalupe · 24/02/2009 09:06

Cheesy?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/02/2009 09:06

Guad, don't you need to eat the pancake after Margary Dawes has weighed you?!

Actually I think you're very brave for going. I have thought about it myself.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/02/2009 09:07

Cheesy as in retro? Or cheesy as in the milk was off?!

Guadalupe · 24/02/2009 09:09

No, the weigh in will be my point of no return, the crisis or hinge point of the slender future.

I will eat, perch my rear on a hard chair and then resolve.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/02/2009 09:09

Oh, and is pancake batter best if you make it in advance?

FrannyandZooey · 24/02/2009 09:24

morning
nothing to say really
see you later

LOL! my milk wouldn't be off

I think he was referring to the general smell/atmosphere created when frying - often when we walk past a cafe he says it smells cheesy. I haven't a clue where he has picked up this phrase!

Tatties · 24/02/2009 09:25

Any news from Boco?

Pancake day was on sunday for us, as I won't have time today. Might have to have a re-run just for me, once the DC's are in bed.
