For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Happy Birthday to the Birthday girl!

Sorry....this thread is moving so fast... sigh!

Anyway, my listing for yesterday:
Grapes (red and gree)- 2 portions
Chickpeas - 1
Pineapple - 2
Bananas -2

7 portions, not to bad!

Anyway, how is everyone?

I finally tidied hell my childrens bedroom up...it was a nightmare....6 binbags later (full of many games they have lost bits to, etc...) and what ever is left put into boxes...and what a difference...
There was of course tears, because of some of the toys and games thrown out...but well, I did warn them about ripping things apart and losing pieces...maybe they will learn [hopeful emoticon]

littlerach · 25/02/2009 09:31

Large tomato and onion salad with linseeds and olive oil and a glass of mango juice. I think 2 and a half. I couldn't finish the onion though ..it was just too [gah] though I had chopped it up small.

TooTicky · 25/02/2009 11:46

TooTicky · 25/02/2009 11:49

Hello Atilla {{{{{{}}}}}}

AtillaTheHoney · 25/02/2009 11:54

Toot.....

AtillaTheHoney · 25/02/2009 11:56

I am very pathetic today, and need a good shaking.....I feel sick again, and my body is chronically tired..

pollycazalet · 25/02/2009 12:12

Oh pink your baby boy is bliss. You look amazing (must be having babies in your 20s!)

Am wondering when I will get to the stage of seeing a baby and not wanting one.

Am feeling rotten today. Really busy day at work yesterday, had to have a ?working lunch? with indescribably bad sarnies and bit of a failure on the 10/10 front. Came home to wield pancake pan in perfect mother fashion. Then slumped in front of TV last night watching Mistresses ? unbelievable pap but admit to working wardrobe envy of the lawyer.

I need to have more f and v focus - can someone crack the whip? Can I sit in the pit for a bit, just for motivation?

Have resolved I am going to start fast walking/running ? any tips for a beginner?

Am inspired by Fairlady?s tidy up ? need to do that before another deluge of presents for DS?s birthday. His room is a disgrace. Dd?s room pristine ? she spends most of her time filing and sorting.

Felicitations to the birthday girl!

FairLadyRantALot · 25/02/2009 12:32

Polly, may I have your dd...I swap you 3 ds's...that is good value I say
oh...and...PIT now...sort yer focus out

Atilla...you poor thing!

OsBa...wow, well done you!

TooTicky · 25/02/2009 12:34

No, not shaking Atilla, TLC.

Polly, I ran a (very) short stretch of canal yesterday in an experimental sort of way. No advice though,

Atilla nd Pink and Guad do running...

AtillaTheHoney · 25/02/2009 12:35

Re walking/running polly, start fairly modestly, with some thing you can achieve fairly easily, and then set your goal a little bit higher in stages and start to push yourself. Even if it is just adding the distance to the next landmark..bus-stop/lamp-post, building sign etc.this thread will give you any advice you need and despite having some well seasoned runners is lovely to beginners.

Good luck.

FairLadyRantALot · 25/02/2009 12:36

oh, guess what I am eating for lunch

I am having carrot sticks and raw pepper with houmous...haven't had that oh, in over a year....

AtillaTheHoney · 25/02/2009 12:38

sorry polly, this onehere

TooTicky · 25/02/2009 12:45
