For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hope you're ok Feather. You know where we are when you're ready to come back. Make sure you do lurk - you don't want to miss any birth announcements

FrannyandZooey · 29/01/2009 08:39

ok during the many times i was awake during the night some titles came into my head

where have all the mangoes gone? long time cunting....when will they ever learn, when will they ever learn

and

look at all the peaches eaten by the fruity bitches

ok they need work perhaps

pinkspottywellies · 29/01/2009 08:51

Franny, they're lovely titles. But you know people get a little sensitive about the swearing

FrannyandZooey · 29/01/2009 09:03

actually only ONE person complained about the last one

anyway
i didn't really think we would use them

I can't carry on like this. Me and dd are sat in separate rooms sobbing

FrannyandZooey · 29/01/2009 09:31

pink it's ok
everyone has abysmal days sometimes and you are very tired and dd will pick up on all the anxiety and change in the air

can you get out in the fresh air and go for a very slow walk?
or drop dd at a friend's house and go and have a nap?

don't worry i promise you we have all been there and it WILL NOT BE LIKE THIS FOREVER

TigerFeet · 29/01/2009 09:35

Oh Pink Is there anyone who can come and help? Does dd nap? Would a sleep for both of you help at all? Have a cuddle on the sofa in front of CBeebies.

Agree re Grand Designs house. Not really my cup of tea tbh and must be a bugger to heat.

FairLady my dd's patching is nearing its end now, we've been doing it for over a year. The vision in her wonky eye is never going to be as good as her other eye but is much better than it was. She wears a patch for 4 hours a day atm but at the last appointment there was no improvement and they aren't expecting any more now but wanted to give it once last chance. Eye clinic appt next Weds.

My Mum says "I'm fertiged" when she's finished something... she spent a lot of time in Germany in the 70's and speaks dodgy Deutchlish.

Gorgeous boys Fran.

TWF take good care of yourself lovely.

pinkspottywellies · 29/01/2009 10:03

Sorry! I'm ok now and the chemist in the village is getting me Spatone in by lunchtime. He is wonderful

pinkspottywellies · 29/01/2009 10:06

Sorry TF hope I'm not freaking you out

Friend who had dd yesterday just phoned and I sobbed on her again Going to go there for lunch I think then might leave dd again, even if I just wander to the chemist on my own.

Thanks for indulging me everyone

TigerFeet · 29/01/2009 10:09

I am going to sail through this pregnancy. I am planning a hiking holiday for the summer. And as for the birth, one sneeze and the baby will be out. Back to the hiking holiday the following day. Yes indeed.

pinkspottywellies · 29/01/2009 10:14

I have really been fine up til now!! Just a temporary blip for a couple of days. Will be fine when I get the Spatone - Franny said. DD stopped napping around the time I got pg which was crap timing but I've managed... until now when I'm swinging between floods of tears and playing nicely with dd.

FrannyandZooey · 29/01/2009 10:15

pink i hope spatone will help but you also need rest and care and people to reassure you

call in ALL offers of childcare right now. i found not many people offered but did agree when asked

what is dp doing? is he helping?

FrannyandZooey · 29/01/2009 10:16

oh the magic bag is packed and will be posted today also

littlerach · 29/01/2009 10:18

Pink, are any of us near you? I would help if you wre local here.

If not, maybe a dvd for dd, and hot choc for you?

I have to basic a million cakes tday, so will lure Feather back with the smell of fairy cakes burning

pinkspottywellies · 29/01/2009 10:27

DH is ignoring it all I think. He 'helpfully' went out last night so that I could get to sleep without him being around being noisy Cleaning the kitchen would've been more helpful but never mind!!

My friend has offered to have dd again this afternoon so I might take her up on it. She is wonderful.

I text MIL last night and said I wouldn't be going to thier house today (usually see her after work) cause I'm not capable of anything. She agreed to babysit tonight (was going to go to waterbirth class but not going now) but ignored reference to being knackered

Never mind. Nearly the weekend.

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 10:29

It will get better really soon, Pink. Like farnny says, call in all help and resign yourself to listening to your body. You're knackered. You're about to have a baby. It's really exciting!!

I won't hug you, there's enough hugging parenthesis on this thread to poke the eyes out. Have a manly pat on the back instead. Maybe a toasted teacake. There there.

Avi and Tiger - wasn't it awful? I agree with Kevin when he said it could be a bit like a visitor centre. I really liked the initial plans and the foundations to stop it slipping were quite exciting but it didn't seem that cohesive to me in the end. Can't believe it cost £26,000 to rehome the bats . No way did that cost what they said either, I reckon they were extremely conservative to save face.

I am having trouble eating fruit in the morning atm, just don't fancy it at all. Hard to get 10 in if you don't.

TigerFeet · 29/01/2009 10:37

Pink if I wasn't feeling so goddam rough I'd come and clean your kitchen for you. I can't even clean my own atm though [gag]

I'd forgotten about the bats. I do hope they are comfortable in their new luxury home. I did chuckle when Kevin told the batty woman she had wasted her money getting all those holes individually drilled on the walkway. DH, eloquent as ever, called her a silly cow.

Boco · 29/01/2009 10:50

Pink poor you, I remember it well, it is much easier when the baby comes out, because you don't have that same crushing exhaustion. Hope the spatone works. I thought that was a bucket for spitting in, but if that worked for Franny, then i'm sure it's the business.

I just went out for breakfast with friend and had toasted teacakes. Felt like a right treat.

It's SO cold. I'm freezing.

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 10:52

I know, but it was all about the detail.

That tiny bike held by the 5p for scale was amazing though wasn't it?

Am making a huge clear leek and potato soup with chickpeas and tarragon. Got loads of leeks in my veg box. I really fancied broccoli and stilton but I resisted the mouldy lure.

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 10:54

I've got my heating on, Boco so it's toasty here. Come and have some soup. Gwan, get in the car.

I promised instructor I'd drive by next week but I lied.

Boco · 29/01/2009 10:57

I didn't watch it, but I love Kevin - and how he gets all indignant to camera and says 'Julie and Keith are now £20,000 OVER budget, and running two months behind schedule, and with winter approaching, it seems IMPOSSIBLE that this will work at all' and then he kind of flounces off to the side. And then at the end looks into the camera and says in a delighted and surprised way 'well, despite set backs, Keith and Julie have done a FABULOUS job!'

Boco · 29/01/2009 10:58

Guad, you promised instructor, you come here! I'll even put the heating on. Bring the soup.

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 11:00

I think I might stay put today. Maybe next week.

He doesn't always love it though does he? Sometimes he is scathing about it at the end. His pessimism has become a sort of theme for the show I think, a bit like everyone ignoring Sarah Beeny's advice in Property ladder.

TigerFeet · 29/01/2009 11:00

Kevin was adamamt they must have spent more than 400K, there was an actual from him when the bloke said that they hadn't gone any more than 10% over budget. Yup, loads of asides to the camera about cost, time, impossibility of bringing the project in on budget etc etc

Phil & Kirstie followed by Kevin on a Wednesday... [happy sigh]
