For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh dear, lully. Did you get my sausage roll suggestion?

Dh and I have slept apart on and off while dcs were small. It was fine and it helped at the time but there is something a little cold about saying goodnight on the landing. One episode lasted two years. I think that was too long but there's no doubt it works for a bit.

FrannyandZooey · 27/01/2009 13:40

oh lully i am sorry
it sounds very distressing for you both

guad i really really love them, thank you so much. there are loads! you extravagant island you.

happy birthday mr avi

Boco · 27/01/2009 13:44

I'd not like the idea of sleeping apart. Dp has a nightmare sleep disorder that makes sleeping with him quite difficult, but I still would hate him to be in another room. He often sleeps down the side of the bed, but starts out in it.

Lully sorry that school is so hard for ds. I hope it gets easier.

Lullabyloo · 27/01/2009 13:45

I did Guad yes
ds wouldn't even entertain the idea thankfully

he's not veggie & no allergies, but very into raw food & loves his salad...he'll probably have lamented the lack of it in his box..is a tomato/celery/cucumber/beetroot/avocado addict.

FrannyandZooey · 27/01/2009 13:47

i would love to sleep on my own tbh
many years of too many people in the bed
and dp snores
i love it really

FrannyandZooey · 27/01/2009 13:48

we are waiting mr avi

Lullabyloo · 27/01/2009 14:00

Nah Mr Avi,Franny reeks of boiled eggs,I on the other hand smell all lovely & spa fresh..

Lullabyloo · 27/01/2009 14:02

Boco,dh has always kept me awake..snoring,nightmares,lashing out
I have slept wonderfully since ds was born & am dreading going back to the battlefield of bed.

FairLadyRantALot · 27/01/2009 14:04

and are the worries of getting calories into him?

mollyroger · 27/01/2009 14:06

what are these raspberry booja boojas thingies. I need to know!

Lullabyloo · 27/01/2009 14:07

no not really, just something he will find easy & quick to eat that will sustain him.
He is missing out on morning fruit snack every day as too slow getting changed from PE
8.30-3.15 is a long time with no food & his blood sugar drops & then he's very difficult to manage.

Lullabyloo · 27/01/2009 14:07

Have you had boojabooja Molly?
These have raspberry inside...mmmmmmmmmm

Boco · 27/01/2009 14:12

dried fruit lully?

TigerFeet · 27/01/2009 14:13

Lully could you do chopped up banana? Would it survive in an edible condition until lunchtime? Mix it up with yogurt maybe? DD doesn't always eat her breakfast properly so I'll send in a couple of bananas to keep her going.

I have the bed to myself most nights. I am the snorer and lasherouterer in our house

MS is shocking still. I have lost over half a stone in two weeks. Ick. I am surviving on crispbreads, peppermint tea, boiled sweets and vitamin pills

SuperBunny · 27/01/2009 14:24

Lully, is he getting plenty of warning before changing activities?

Is he having lots of proteing for breakfast?
Sorry school is so hard for him - I do hope this is 'just' teething problems and that he settles in soon and that the staff work out how to help him.

TinyWhiteFeather · 27/01/2009 14:26

Lully, I am and annoyed on your behalf over treatment of DS.

He really needs tenderness and compassion at this stage if they are going to help him to adjust to their routine, How old is he?
Someone could sit with him. If he had a visually physical disability they wouldn't make him do something he couldn't would they (I hope )

The school should realise the difference they can make at this stage in his life.
{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Well, I am sorry, but I am going to cut out nearly all other refined sugars and carbs and go back on red-bull untill my body adjusts. Have had a can this morning, been for a moderate but revitalising run and feel heaps better, so PLEASE don't flame me but there it is...

AND I have talked H into taking DS to his next therapy session tomorrow morning without me as I seriously think, that despite my obvious role in all of this, they are seriously starting to miss the point.

I have dyed my hair and think it is a mistake...I look like 'Miss Stockholm' off those dodgy seventies hair dye ads . Haven't shaved my head completely for about 18 months but could be seriously tempted at the moment. Good job I have a huge collection of hats!

Awww TF, I feel for you. I was like that with DD, and by the end of the pregnancy weighed the same as the start.

coo, I do feel a bit better.....yippeeeeee!!!!

pinkspottywellies · 27/01/2009 14:37

Oh Tiger sorry to hear about the sickness. Hope you're managing to eat enough to keep going.

I'm soooooo tired at the minute I don't know what to do with myself. I sat on my fat arse all day yesterday then was struggling to keep my eyes open to read dd stories at about 4.

TinyWhiteFeather · 27/01/2009 14:41

And you Pink....I hope you are coping.

Have a sticker anyway just for being lovely

pinkspottywellies · 27/01/2009 14:54

Glad you feel better TWF

Lully, he must be so distressed about it all Did the school just give you a 'telling off' about it or did they suggest any strategies? I remember someone on here suggesting something along the lines of 'yes, it does seem to be a problem and how are we going to manage it?' for a school meeting (pointed stare along with we!) Hope he's not missing out on too much because of it and they help you get it sortd out soon.

Haha Franny :-P

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/01/2009 15:46

Pink - have you tried little and often with your meals? That helps a bit, but tbh I think that's just the way it is at the end of pg. Remember you are carrying AND growing a new little person.

You're a braver woman than me TWF. Redbull gives me a wicked stomach ache. But sometimes you just have to do things that get you through the day, and if that was some Redbull, then so be it.

Your poor ds Lully. You should speak to someone at the school about it. You can do your bit to an extent, but the school have a part to play in helping as well.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/01/2009 16:01

Oh and I forgot TF. Many sympathies, ms is hideous. That and the evil tiredness you get in early pg are horrendous. You really think evolution would have worked a bit better there wouldn't you

I lived on carbs in early pg but still managed to lose weight because it would all come up at some point. I used to wake up in the middle of the night with terrible ms.

Anyway, enough about me, I hope the ms passes soon. And try to hold onto the thought that it means things are going well - well, that's what MW's tell you to make you feel better anyway

TooTicky · 27/01/2009 17:13

TF, I am so sorry you are still feeling grotty. Have a big hug. I don't suppose you can hibernate at all?

Pink, you have a hug too. I hope you are resting and practising your breathing or whatever it is you are supposed to be doing.

Lully lovely, the school is really really out of order here. Can I come and hold your hand and help you shout at them? I would you know, just give me the word...
And would smoothies help or have you already tried that?

Right, I have to grab string and nails and run to Woodcraft. Well, run to the car anyway Oh god and paint!

Boco · 27/01/2009 17:16

Guad, when you made that garlic crispy chicken thing, what did you serve it with. Did you do it without potatoes? It just seems wrong. Am I inappropriate in my potato attachment?
