For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Don't be . I was thinking now I know Avi knows I mean ds, I won't be picky!

Is it hard to catch? I always think of that poster that used to be in surgeries with the drop of blood coming off a rose thorn warning about tetanus. I thought they just had to prick a finger. Maybe if I banish all the spinning wheels he'll be ok.

True. I have stared intently at his jaw a few times when he's scratched himself I must say. Not sure what I'm looking for exactly!

The others have had theirs. I don't really know what's stopped me with him but I felt strongly not to go. Maybe it's the allergies. I never thought he wouldn't have them, just not when he was so small and his body was struggling. I never got to a point where I thought he was big enough, though wheezing and weeping is very minor now.

Guadalupe · 23/01/2009 14:08

I have just made a goulash for dinner with loads of extra peppers and paprika. We are having it with mashed pumpkin and butternut squash with creme fraiche and parsley. It smells really nice actually.

SuperBunny · 23/01/2009 14:38

Mornin

Boco · 23/01/2009 15:07

I ate a mango.

pinkspottywellies · 23/01/2009 15:13

Smells yummy Guad and pmsl at spinning wheels

Avi - you said ds then she so we knew you were on the same wavelength!

A whole one Boco?

OsmosisBanana · 23/01/2009 15:15

ello.

TooT - have you been and done DR'y things yet? At least made appt?

Guad - I saw that Dispatches thing too. More worryingly had to quote extensively from it in an exam today about supermarkets / food supply system malarkey as ran out of sane researched things to say. Went on a bit dint he? Like the idea of supermarkets taking a hit on their profit margin...

I have finished my exams. I feel strangely flat. Think I might fall off the wagn for the evening.

pinkspottywellies · 23/01/2009 15:20

Well done OsBa! How do you think you got on? Have you got some time off now or straight back to the grind stone? I think we used to pretty much have January off except for about 3 exams!

OsmosisBanana · 23/01/2009 15:41

yep, 2 weeks off, and nursery won't let me take DD out without having to pay anyway. Shame eh? I guess I'll just have to take her in

I have a long list of DIY to get on with........

I think I did really well in one, pretty well in the 2nd and I couldn't tell you about the one I did today, pretty sure I passed but gawd knows with what result. Could be brill, could be shite - what I do know is that I have never written such tabloidy essays in my life! And that is saying something.

Hows you Pinkerton?

littlerach · 23/01/2009 15:45

TooT, got your fb message, GO TO DRS.

ell doen OB, what happens now?

Had ot go to assembly again as dd1 got a certificate too.

Dd2's class chicks were offered to us today. I managed ot say no, as they are so small they still have to be indoors. Also persuaded friend to take two so I can visist

Pear
raisins
banana

OsmosisBanana · 23/01/2009 15:49

Not a lot, wait for next semester then more of the same I'm guessing...

I have human biology and microbiology and bio-chemistry next. Meep! Hopefully I will have grown a second skin resembling a lab coat and an inbuilt calculator attachment / bomb calorimeter by then. Not sure such things exist yet, but dammit they will by the time I finish my degree.

Guadalupe · 23/01/2009 16:31

An inbuit calorimeter would be useful!

I thought the dispatches things was really crap. It was all so obvious and those stupid taste tests. We made a pie full of meat and want you to try it with a cheap pie made of connective tissue. Now which one has more meat in and which do you prefer? Duh. Do you think supermarkets should put more meat in if it didn't affect their profit margin? Double duh.

pinkspottywellies · 23/01/2009 16:39

I saw a bit of that Guad but my friend came round so we turned the sound off! Do you think it's actually news to anyone that it's cheap cause it's shite

2 toddler free weeks sounds good OsBa I'm good thanks. Still don't look too huge but only 4 weeks to go now oh my god. 4 weeks

BBB (I think it was BBB who said it but I know lots of you feel the same) it's nice that you can have the excitment about there being a baby without it being yours - makes up for the terror and lack of excitment this end I might need you to all big up the excitment and try to instill it in me!!

mollyroger · 23/01/2009 16:49

I bought ds1 a quilted gilet from a charity shop for his trip next week. I washed it and just taken it off the radiator. it is so snuggly and gorgeous, I put it on! And it bloody fits me
[no norks]

mollyroger · 23/01/2009 16:50

OMG 4 weeks!!

Perhaps I will feel nesty for you pink - and finally get some housework done

pinkspottywellies · 23/01/2009 17:01

My sis has offered to come up in half term - the week before it's due. I could do nesting by proxy "I really want to clean the oven/hoover the stairs/clean behind the washing machine, but I just can't manage it"

Boco · 23/01/2009 17:04

Have you decided on a name Pink? Is it a secret?

I'm going out tonight, for wine with friends. And just found that the little antique shop in the village has opened a second hand and vintage clothes bit upstairs, apparently all supplied by TV wardrobe so hardly worn stuff, and I bought a pretty french connection lacy blouse thing for £3! This is very good.

yes, I ate the whole mango. [proud]

Now, Jamie must redeem himself after last night with a good fish pie.

mollyroger · 23/01/2009 17:07

Boco, I know your village is populated by nutters but it does sound very idyllic sometimes. I bet you have a fab tea shop too ...

pinkspottywellies · 23/01/2009 17:11

Yes, we have name but it's a secret [mysterious] Shop sounds good. I'm heading down your way Boco to see my sister. Would have arranged to meet you and Guad but I am not allowed to move from sofa except to go to Bravissimo for nursing bras!!

daisy99divine · 23/01/2009 17:18

boco I love the Jamie Fish Pie so hope all goes well - at least you get to mash the potatoes in a sane way!

pink only 4 weeks!!! Blimey. You will therefore love to know that DS was born 3 weeks and 4 days early, actually you have 4 more days

No, sorry, that's not helpful!

TooT come back and tell us about the Drs? [hopeful]

TWF how did you get on today?

Hmm, can't keep up with all chatting so love and fruity hugs to all others

Tomators,
raisins
lettuce
organe juice
blueberres

daisy99divine · 23/01/2009 17:18

Oh, I had tetanus when poor sick dog bit my finger TO THE BONE and even then GP said I was low risk...
