It's the best, scariest news, misdee. If this works out just think how utterly over the moon you'll all be. And then you can go nuts for a while like you said you need to on one of your previous threads.

Any idea when the op might be if it gets the go-ahead? And then, roughly, recovery time? (don't answer if not appropriate!)

its a 45-60min drive to the hospital, so they should be there by now. when it goes ahead its an 8 hr op. dont think i'll sleep well tonight.

am wondering about the person who has died to give Peter this chance. will want to write to the family afterwards.

we are alo wondering if its a female donor will Peter start wanting to wear lipstick and a bra?

misdee he may well do!I started decorating like a mad woman after my 1st transplant just like my mum and after my 2nd from my brother i am a lot lazier just like him so you may need to watch your frillies xx

Well..... My uncle got the heart of a 30 year old man.

He complained bitterly afterwards, that they made him feel like a new man, but left him with his own libido.

If all goes well and the op goes ahead please post and let us know.

just had a call, they are prepping Peter, but the heart isnt there yet. all the tests etc will be done by 11.30 or there abouts, so should know then if its going ahead.
