For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh yes, you must come back, I will be in trouble if I've frightened you off with my bird theories.

[does weird mad person eye bulging impression]

Okay. I'd better go and get enthusiastic about this rainbow cloud affair.

Though I want Lupe to come back and tell me about her house.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 15:27

I was going to say something but I can't remember what.

ahundredtimes · 05/01/2009 15:28

I will stalk if you like Dooney? What does it involve? Does it involve window art? Because otherwise you can count me out I'm afraid.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 15:29

100x, did you see what dd1 called me? Tell me what you would have done and I shall bask in your Anneness.

ahundredtimes · 05/01/2009 15:29

you can count me IN, I mean.

[sigh]

i am waiting until it is safe to go back into the kitchen. DD being v. high maintenance about the rainbow and the dripping paints and OH THE DRAMA, OH THE ANGST.

ahundredtimes · 05/01/2009 15:31

Oh well TooT, you know what? I'd have said 'you can say what you like, just don't MOVE, I've got to get this knot out' probably.

Actually, knowing you, I would have said 'No, you heard that wrong. Her name begins with a T you numpty. On account of being small, yet oddly powerful' and then I'd have plunged the comb in HARD.

dooneygirl · 05/01/2009 15:32

No, I'm good on the window art. I have more than I can handle, thanks to the kids' preschool.

It basically involves saying something every once and a while that shows that you are aware of my existence. Then I go about my day realizing that I am delusional am adored by my masses of fans.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 15:33

Dd2 is good fun atm. She is using some wonderful words, mostly correctly, but not always.
Yesterday she handed me her plate and said, "Kindly, I don't want any more of my dinner".

Oh, and she was ythinking about people who have two babies, and decided that they must have one baby and thebn borrow another. "And then they have two babies to concentrate with."

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 15:35

It wasn't so much a knot as a nit. Actually many of them. being combed out in a hurry, in an arctic bathroom, with cold water. So I understand her annoyance, just object to it being all my fault

ahundredtimes · 05/01/2009 15:38

I hate doing nits, I feel for you both. dd has dreadful curly, knotty hair, it takes me ages to get it unknotted before we can even begin on the nits. Hence knot thoughts.

TooT - did you know Dooney lives in Oregon? [does she? can't remember what you said now - sorry, that's not v. stalkerish. Hope that works. I might be too self-centred to be a stalker I think.

ahundredtimes · 05/01/2009 15:40

Rainbow is complete! DD triumphant. I was right to excuse myself, storm has abated. Window art is drying. . .

must go.

ahundredtimes · 05/01/2009 15:42

I like 'two babies to concentrate with' very much indeed.

dooneygirl · 05/01/2009 15:43

That works. I'm really delusional easy.

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 15:45

Can I tell you what I would say to what DD1 called you (on a confidant day ) Toot?

I would look her squarely in the eye and say calmly "unless you like living with nits, or are prepared to try and get rid of them yourself, I would be very very careful what you call me in future young lady". And then I would add that I would be ready to accept her apology for what she had called me, when she was ready to give it.
Then I would leave the room and go to the toilet.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 15:47

The others have nits too. I haven't tackled them yet. Have just bought more conditioner.
I AM NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST BIT ITCHY.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 15:48

Hmm. But half the problem is that she wanted to do them herself. Also to do them this evening and go to school crawling with them.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 15:51

You're good Feather. I am naff.

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 15:53

DD has come home from school in a fowl (he-he ahundred!) mood and I am actually the devil incarnate as far as mothers are concerned.

I've heard so much over the last 18 mnths it sort of rolls over me now though. Which I guess should be sad but I think anything that helps you cope is a boon.

FANTABULOUS news Guad!! So so pleased for you.
We will have to move someday as our landlords don't intend to stay around here forever, but I try not to think about it.

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 15:54

Yes, but the reason I would go to the toilet straight after would be to either shake or cry!

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 15:57

We were already in the bathroom. And anyway, I had to finish the job. I just sort of sighed and ignored her.

SuperBunny · 05/01/2009 15:57

Hello Sonnet

The beaks, ahundred, you didn't mention those nasty beaks. Or those beady, darting, sinister eyes

DS is being lovely now - I we have made a rather splendid Lego house.

He has had a rather honest phase which I was not thrilled with. Notably, "Mummy, you are even fatter than Santa"

Toots DD2 sounds lovely. I like TWF's method of dealing with namecalling.

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 15:59

Is it practical to do them herself? DS tries. But I don't think it is particularly accurate.
On a different day I might sat, "but they must be so uncomfortable darling, and I hate to think of you being uncomfortable at school, let Mum help you" and then ask if she'd like to check the lo's

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 16:00

SB, I didn't think you would be a bird-hater. I mean, you like bats, and they fly.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 16:01

Not a chance in hell. She can wash her hair without wetting half of it

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 16:02

Someone on another thread said that if I were an animal, they would liken me to a bird so I am starting to feel a little henpecked!!! lolol
