For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Haven't been properly swimming for ages. I think I might try to go once a week in the new year when they re-open the local pool.
I'm seeing my big brother at christmas and I really really miss him. It will be good though.

DumbledoresGirl · 21/12/2008 19:02

Yes the red cabbage recipe does go well with goose. It is quite tangy so it cuts through the fattier meats such as goose.

Well we are back from seeing Madagascar 2 (sorry, I thought it was very disappointing as we are big fans of the original film) and sitting down to a birthday tea of devil's food cake, syrup pancakes and fancy biscuits. I think the only fruit in sight is the jam in the jammy dodgers!

Superbunny, -19 outside sounds..... well, pretty damned cold actually! Hope you are snug and warm indoors.

SuperBunny · 21/12/2008 19:07

In desperate times, Jammy dodgers count, DG.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 21/12/2008 19:30

DG, hope your DS has had a lovely day..

ds2 is running a temperature and has gone all peepy-eyed. GAH!!

DumbledoresGirl · 21/12/2008 19:43

Oh no FMV If it helps to know it, my ds2 was not feeling well yesterday - headache, shivery, backache - didn't seem to have a temperature but we think our thermometer may be faulty. He was on calpol all day. Anyway, he woke up this morning fine and has not complained of any symptoms all day. Fingers crossed for your ds.

littlerach · 21/12/2008 19:44

SB, that is cold. Sorry about your day, what are you doing instead?

We have had dh's other 2 here for their xmas weekend with us. It was nice to see them, as they are too old to visit much now . My stepdaughter had reuquested a rather expensive top and shed loads of glittery make up which I rather fancied a try of!!
The gilrs were especially plesaed ot see her, though they got on her nerves after a while.

Carrots
Brocolli
Pear
banana
Tomaotes

Actually, it was the nicest pear I've had in ages. Very juicy and perfectly ripe.

Dentist tomorrow - with the dds.

BBBee · 21/12/2008 19:56

oh dear FMV - no party for you tonight then. I hope normal health is restored soon.

SB- are you REALLY making cheese? how wonderful if you are.

I am in tonight (only night all week - am a bit partied out)

what is all the hulabaloo on the boards? is it about the oldies getting together elsewhere?

I will go and read around. I am very nosy.

Why do I keep reading the Moldies threads fra?

Dh has gone to a party. We were ALL supposed to be going. We are here. Am mightily cross about it.

TooTickyDoves · 21/12/2008 20:10
FrayedKnot · 21/12/2008 20:11

Franny I have had my hyperventilating moments over the last week. Normal for this time of year, I think.

I have about 6 definitive "to do" lists.

They all have different things on them.

I am also intrigued by SB's cheesemaking activities..

FMF I suppose you are not going out then? Poor DS2.

I hav just dipped my toe into that Moldie thingy stuff...I had no idea, it all seems a load of complete gobbledigook to me

FrannyandZooey · 21/12/2008 20:11

why are you here then 100? i am glad you are here, but why?

moldies threads - dunno
stoppit at once
it will just give you a headache
eat some fruit instead

OP posts:
BBBee · 21/12/2008 20:14

i can't even find the mouldy threads and i want to read them but i don't know why.

WHAT ARE YOU HAVING FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER?

TooTickyDoves · 21/12/2008 20:15

What is all this moldies stuff anyway?

BBBee · 21/12/2008 20:15

100 - yo9u will tell us when your you know what comes out won't you?

did you see that charlie brooker progamme the other night about writing? it was really good and very real!

FrayedKnot · 21/12/2008 20:16

BBBee! You are here, and seem to be staying?

Do you want to know what we are all having, or someone in particular?

TooTickyDoves · 21/12/2008 20:16

I'm not going to eat anything. I am going to hide in a cupboard and sleep.

ahundredtimes · 21/12/2008 20:17

Yes, I keep reading them and sometimes I contribute, and then I wonder why I did.

I am here, because dh decided he didn't want to go last week, so we cancelled all arrangements - is in London - then today he decided HE would go. That's bad isn't it? I can't think of a way to think about it other than just BAD. I wanted to go to a party.

ahundredtimes · 21/12/2008 20:17

Hello Bee

BBBee · 21/12/2008 20:18

TOOT (this is my take on it and i haven't read any threads but i am guessing)

some mumsnetters set up a group or board or something and asked certain people to join. it is more intimate and people use names and stuff.

it has been around for ages but recently has become the thing of hoo-hah. i think it might be because people miss cod and think she is there.

it is kind of exclusive and i think people don't like that.

ahundredtimes · 21/12/2008 20:18

Is in March! [quick off the mark]

BBBee · 21/12/2008 20:19

hi fk

is holidays see and so i am not at work hurrah.

i do miss you all.

hi 100!

BBBee · 21/12/2008 20:21

100 You are right to be cross and sulky, but i imagine you won't be.

did you go to a party this time last year and drank champagne hiding in a bush in the garden?

ahundredtimes · 21/12/2008 20:23

Probably, Bee, probably [airy]

Actually I think it was Boco wasn't it?

I had a party though this month. I wore v. high heels and drank lots and lots of cocktails and provided NO FOOD. I had a lovely time.

I think I don't like parties, but now I've realized that I do. And I wanted to go to this one.

I need to stop being cross, because there is no point to it. I need to stop posting on the Moldies threads because there is no point to that either.

Give me news Bbee. How goes course? When do you qualify? How do you get there every morning?
