For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Have you had vitc yet, Franny? And vinegar?

OB - How did you find the strength to detox this soon after christmas? My fridge is still full of cheese, half a game pie, half a ham and a mutant turkey breast.

Then there's the booja boojas, and the quality street, the chocolate biscuits, stollen, wine and butter.

I did have mango for breakfast though. It was like eating a floral gum.

fumf · 29/12/2008 12:29

lol guad. my detox will start in approx march...as my non-wastage resolution prevents me from wasting the chocolates and pork pie and caramilised cashews.

littlerach · 29/12/2008 12:34

Guad, our fridge is starting tolook more normal.
We no longer have to balance everything in a strategic way to prevent it form falling.

However, the chocolate tower is another story.

fumf · 29/12/2008 12:36

thank god, we finished the last of the turkey....

Guadalupe · 29/12/2008 12:40

Mmm, caramelised cashews. We didn't get those this year, dh usually buys them. They are mega fattening.

Littlerach - ours is the same, full, but less risk of a poke in the eye with a packet of bilinis every time you open the door.

fumf · 29/12/2008 12:50

Guad, I don't want to know how fattening they are.....
I have eaten my own (ever-increasing) body weight of them.

stuffitllama · 29/12/2008 12:55

hi all I am bringing the Shame of Pepperoni Pizza to the yurt

how are you Toot and Franny? How was the visit and how are your nics (Toot not Fran)

lol at Toot's opening speech and bottoms coming over all unnecessary

very nice homemade tomato and garlic soup, about a gallon, and that's my lot

the children are shouting (joyfully) but boy does it echo round a carpet free house

stuffitllama · 29/12/2008 13:09

I like all suggested titles but how about something about Epiphany, you know We Three Kings

bearing veg we traverse afar
peas and cauli
beat and broccoli
pumpkins and beans and chard

oh OH beans of wonder, carrots, bok choi
cabbage and watercress oh what joy
sprouts and garlic
soy and parsnip
bring on the roast tatzoi

(I am not very busy)

SuperBunny · 29/12/2008 14:29

Very good song,stuffit

Toot, are you ok? Is your underwear alright? I hang mine on door knobs overnight. I have been tempted to stick them in the oven before (on low, obviously)

I am not sick, Mango!

Welcome LittleDucks. Eat fruit and veg and don't be scared of unusual swearing. It's all done in an affectionate manner.

filthymindedvixen · 29/12/2008 14:30

Listen lovely lovely fruit loopers. I am signing off from MN for a while. Everything is ok, but I am being strict with myself. RL is suffering because of this unhealthy addiction to MN.

I will be back, but i have done a mini-flounce, just to make it 'real' for me iykwim.

I want to wish you all the happiest of new years and feel free to keep in touch with me.

lots of love and lentils,
x

OsmosisFaLaLaLaLa · 29/12/2008 14:46

Fair play, be back soon though ya hear?!?

Good luck with RL!! I'm sure DD will be in touch on FB anyway!

Tatties · 29/12/2008 14:53

Hello loves

Sorry it's so very late but I hope you all had a good Christmas.

I shan't attempt to catch up with the whole thread! Not sure if Bero has posted, but I have heard from her and she sends her love.

I am going to try and pop in more often. Just been a really busy time for us, big changes, etc... ds been v. demanding and it feels like I've had no time in the evenings to come and chat to you. I hope things settle down soon! I'm sure they will.

Wishing you all a peaceful new year xxx

FrannyandZooey · 29/12/2008 15:42

Don't be too long FMV. Amd be careful, you might like it.

I like Stuffit's song.

I dried the paintbrushes in the oven last night.
And we used ot dry our tights in the microwave when we were students.

Did anyone watch Ballet Shoes? I have recorded it as i want ot watch it in peace, as I did last year.

What have you been painting little rach?
My artist housemate used to grill his paintings in the oven
I have googled him but he's not famous (now not very unexpectedly)

stuffitllama · 29/12/2008 16:52

TooTickyDoves · 29/12/2008 16:56

My grandfather once decorated his walls with printing ink and it Never Dried.

stuffitllama · 29/12/2008 17:03

I like stories of interesting old people
