For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Should old potatoes be forgot and lemon brought to rind?

TooTickyDoves · 28/12/2008 20:09

We wish you a merry coleslaw and a happy new pear?

TooTickyDoves · 28/12/2008 20:10

My jaw/neck/head/ear are doing horrendous things to me

pinkspottywellies · 28/12/2008 20:11

Should old tom-ay-toes be forgot and lemon brought to mind (because potatoes don't count and SB will feel like we're all there in the good old USofA with her!)

pinkspottywellies · 28/12/2008 20:12

TooT -Scrabble me!

pinkspottywellies · 28/12/2008 20:16

You feeling lousy too TooT? Are you getting any rest? I've had earache, teething wisdom tooth, toothache, sore throat, cold, sinus pain etc all week and my sister said I was feeling sorry for myself and likened my 'being pregnant' (ignoring all my ails and tiredness) to her jetlag after a 3 week holiday in Thailand

TooTickyDoves · 28/12/2008 20:19

Oh Pink
I'm not feeling great no. Silly jaw clenchy thing which is possibly combined with wisdom teething. And visited my grandmother today - the hotness in her room dehydrates me within minutes so I have a headfache too.

Have just scrabbled

TooTickyDoves · 28/12/2008 20:24

Have scrabbled again

Can't seem to get enough rest atm. I just want to hibernate really.

pinkspottywellies · 28/12/2008 20:27

Oh I hate too hot places - specially where you can't get away. Drink lots of water. Can you do relaxy things with your jaw. Did you say you think you're clenching in your sleep?

TooTickyDoves · 28/12/2008 20:31

The stuffiness is so intense even water doesn't help Feel sorry for everybody who has to live in places like that.

Yes I'm clenching.

BBBee · 28/12/2008 20:33

oh toot - i sometimes do that clenching in my sleep thing - it is very horrid. you can get gum shields but you need to work out why you are clenching.

psw - i hope you are resting and people are annoying when they compare the magnitude of growing a whole new human in your body with some such nonsense they are doing.

TooTickyDoves · 28/12/2008 20:37

I know why I'm clenching.

TooTickyDoves · 28/12/2008 20:45

Where is Dumbledore'sGirl? Has she run away from us?

BBBee · 28/12/2008 20:46

oh dear - should i know? i have been skimming so much lately.

i hope that there is an unclenchable scenario on the horizon

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

BBBee · 28/12/2008 20:47

(I have just 'got' your name - doh!)

BBBee · 28/12/2008 20:47

sounds like we are talking buttocks toot!

pinkspottywellies · 28/12/2008 20:49

Thanks BBB (specially when she is recovering from a 3 week holiday ) Dh is looking forward to her having kids one day so he can do it back. He was also cross that she 'over-ruled' us (actually specified that's what she was doing) about bringing a blanket out for her when we walked down to the beach. We didn't even have one but I could guarantee that it wouldn't have remained in the buggy for more than 30 seconds!

pinkspottywellies · 28/12/2008 20:51

I saw DG elsewhere on MN earlier today. Maybe we scared her off!

FrayedKnot · 28/12/2008 20:51

Evening

Parsnip soup
Half an apple
Satsuma

Cauliflower

Well, slightly better than yesterday.

BBBee · 28/12/2008 20:51

BBBee · 28/12/2008 20:52
