For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I never thought of looking in a health food shop [dim] thanks

FrannyandZooey · 27/12/2008 10:39

tiger i have the scalp from hell (currently acting up a lot) and i use Green People Organic Base - it is the mildest shampoo i have found and has no perfume at all
it is pricey but like all their products it is concentrated so you don#t need loads

morning all
avi your dreams sound quite like mine - the corridor thing is so tedious

ds1 got up at 3.45 am and failed to get back to sleep. At all. We are feeling rather jaded this morning tbh. However I did get to go back to sleep because kind dp let me. So apart from waking up at 4.30, 5.20, 6, 7.15 and 7.45 with ds2 I had a fab sleep

Tigerfeet, the Urtekram shampoos are excellent. All very mild but they also do an even milder one. They are made in a factory powered only by wind and hay

Avi, we have snot too. I am bored of blowing people's noses or telling them they should be.

Ds1 has his hamster. He is called Hannibal.

FrannyandZooey · 27/12/2008 14:10

sorry but LOL at wind and hay
i used to use their deodorant and it was a good one

bleugh i just feel slightly ropey
was planning gym today but that is out
bah humbug, i always come down with something when dp is at home - I know the two things are related, and it's better than feeling rough and having no help at home, but it is still frustrating

am going to inflict treat you to photos of ds2 playing with treasure basket, sorry

Tigerfeet, that is my recurring dream too....appaertnly it is due to stress and anxiety.

Anyone know about homeopathy? TooT?
I have been advised ot try taking Argentum Nitricium (sp??) Do you know anyhting about it? Hollnad and Barrat told me to look on a website called Helios???

FrannyandZooey · 27/12/2008 14:51

Parumpapumfumf · 27/12/2008 14:56

oh Franny, that 3rd photo is marvellous!!!

I have some lovely bits to add to it (including a fabby metal heart whcih chimes) as we are not allowed to use wnakey baskets at the children's centres (they have their own H&S checked ones)

Can you email me your addy again as I have lost it in an inbox of approx 7million posts....?

FrannyandZooey · 27/12/2008 15:00

oh lovely fmf, thank you very much indeed. I would LOVE to know what is allowed in the h+s checked one - not much i am guessing? I had a great correspondence once with an american poster who had a play studio she was interested in starting treasure basket classes but concluded it was just too litigious over there she said the parents would expect the items washed in bleach or anti bac after each session

Crazy isn't it?
WE wanted to have a sensory type of box at preschool, similar to a wnakey one (guess we couldn't call it that , but after speaking to the council, we didn't do it in case there were any moaners.

TooTickyDoves · 27/12/2008 16:20

Gorgeous photos Franny Is he really sitting up now?

LittleRach, best advice I can give is not to take anything unless it has been prerscribed for you by a homeopath who has spent at least an hour taking your case. You may not think this helpful
Feel free to email me if you want to know more.

Parumpapumfumf · 27/12/2008 16:24

most of the stuff is quite nice, but all seems to be variations on a theme. So lots of wooden rings, and nail brushes.
And rubber. There is actually a market out there for rubber things which look like dg toys which are nobbly and smell of vanilla etc to 'stimulate babies' senses....''. But not feathers. Or pine cones or shells

TooTickyDoves · 27/12/2008 16:42

Hannibal is now called Tim.

littlerach · 27/12/2008 16:44

Will email you TooT.

FrannyandZooey · 27/12/2008 17:04

yes at ds1's nursery they had a lovely basket but it was 90% wooden
it is hard, obviously you do have to think about safety
you need one on one with the things like pine cones and feathers and of course most childcare settings can't provide constant supervision
TooT no he isn't really sitting, he is very propped there! have bought him high chair for christmas but he won't be using it for a while i don't think
am very excited about doing blw when he is ready though
it seems so much more entertaining and less stressful than the ice cube malarkey

right we are going to watch The Wrong Trousers
hope everyone having nice day

My children are drinking shandy. Is that bad?
I don't know what dinner is. I am so BORED of the kitchen. I could do stew but some of them will moan.

OsmosisFaLaLaLaLa · 27/12/2008 17:28

Yep, kitchen boredom here too. I started making curry but the key ingredient has been hidden by DD so it is half made. Bah!

Bag of salad for me then. Probably what my tastebuds actually crave the most TBH!

The TV is broken.... This is very bad.

SuperBunny · 27/12/2008 17:30

pepitas are the inside of sunflower seeds. I will get some very firm tofu. I can only cook and eat it in stir fry so this will be a bit adventurous for me

That 3rd photo is a fab advert for wnaky baskets!

My skin is really bad - I look like a 14 year old. What can I do to make it look radiant and healthy rather than greasy and spotty?

Parumpapumfumf · 27/12/2008 17:31

eat salmon and avacado

SuperBunny · 27/12/2008 17:32

OOo, I like shandy

SuperBunny · 27/12/2008 17:33

I can't eat salmon but will get an avocado on Monday. Thanks.

TooTickyDoves · 27/12/2008 17:38

Is there a Lush near you SB? Get some Herbalism or Angels on Bare Skin.

Have replied LR.

Do I have to feed the dcs? Ds2 has just toasted pitta breads for the others, bless him.
