For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh dear Avi, good luck!! Having just come through a bout of intensive bf you have my sympathy.

Franny, you must tell us more about those fruit things, they look quite wacky.

FrannyandZooey · 25/12/2008 18:10

hope you and ds have a good time, SB
avi is new year a big festival for you? hope you are not ill i feel slightly interesting myself. have moved to pyjamas - god that dress was funny! i appeared poured into it
don't buy dresses on basis of standing up in changing room sucking stomach in
it seemed it was bravely attempting to actually cover me up, but losing the battle for most of day
luckily just me dp and dses or would have had to put Very Large Cardigan on
or sack

we have not tried fruit things yet
apparently lemons taste like sweets so we must invest in some before eating tablets
how cool do they sound? imagine giving them to stoned or hallucinating people

oh that's funny, i LOATHE new year
all that enforced drunkenness and snogging
even when i was a pisshead i hated it
it's so....unspontaneous
oh that makes no sense, but anyway, i hate it
Christmas is grand in my book

although this has been a LOOOOOONG day of family togetherness
it is wearing just a leet-le bit thin now

ds1 definitely needs to go to bed, for instance

FrannyandZooey · 25/12/2008 18:51

Merry Christmas

Good day here, but knackered now.

SB, I ma sure your ds will love it.

lionheart · 25/12/2008 20:18

Happy Christmas, 10/10ers ....

SuperBunny · 25/12/2008 20:25

DS came back all crotchety but loved everything. He's in bed playing with his new truck that a neighbour brought up. Unfortunately she chose to bring it yesterday when DS had emptied my underwear drawer all over the apartment

Have talked to mum and sister on webcam, opened pressies with them. I got some nice handcream (L'Occitaine), too much chocolate, some MAC eyeshadow which is all asprkly and a couple of tops.

Mushroom Wellington in oven to take to friend's later.

Hope everyone is ok. I am not a fan of new year but that's because I am always stuck at home on my own with a sleeping child. Anyway, enjoy the rest of xmas, everyone.

Oh: banana, pear, pineapple, orange.

FrayedKnot · 25/12/2008 20:40

Merry Christmas everyone!

Avi sorry DS is ill and you have had to postpone.

DS is a bit under the weather, and wouldn;t eat any Christmas lunch, but enjoyed the day with his cousins.

I am comfortably full

I ate LOADS of sprouts

I hope everyone has had a good day, love to you all

x

FrannyandZooey · 25/12/2008 21:56

satsuma pineapple melon blueberries pear
asparagus artichoke hearts
mange tout
satsuma
grapes melon

a tag fell off one of my presents from dp
it said "possibly the world's largest sausage"
he couldn't remember which present it came from and we spent the day trying to find out
none of them remotely connected to sausages
got rather surreal by 5 pm (we spaced the presents out)
"possibly the world's largest sausage" - a cd

"possibly the world's largest sausage" - some socks

We didn't get far round the block so not much christmas tree comparison went on. We saw a friend in the window instead and got invited in for fizz between their lunch and pudding. Then I was late back for ours and a bit drunk but dh didn't mind luckily.

I am way too full, I don't think I needed brandy butter and cream on my pudding or the chocolate salt balls frojm artisan while it was boiling but there we are. It won't be much better tomorrow. There are pies and ham and cheeses.

I can't abide new year either. I also didn't like it when I was single and childless and could stay up all night. So many irritating people everywhere and everyone kissing each other. Pah.

Right dcs in bed, not asleep from the sound of it. I am going to ignore them and watch crap tv and drink a bit more by the fire.

Hello, lionhart. Happy christmas to you too.

Ooh, Lionheart was here

TooTickyDoves · 25/12/2008 23:01

Franny, I need to know if you have now opened all your presents and still don't know which one was the sausage. Because that would be weird. I shall lie awake wondering.

TooTickyDoves · 25/12/2008 23:34

I'm going to bed now. I shall probably be haunted ALL NIGHT by Franny's mystery sausage.

TinyWhiteFeather · 26/12/2008 01:55

Hello!! Sounds like you are all having lovely Christmas's.

Sorry about the stomach pain alert and then disappearing. It was the usual but once in a while they really get to me. I became very well aquainted with a hot water bottle and remained ball-like for a few hours....am much recovered now. Thank-you.

Christmas Dinner. Out of a packet. Deep Fried. And microwaved. That is all I am going to say, except I AM cooking Christmas dinner next year.

Toot, I hope your jaw is ok....
Get well wishes to poorly veggers. Crap time to be ill.

I got an amazing make-up kit off one of my customers...and some Mango Body Cream . Oh and some Rescue Remedy pastilles, and fabulous Herbal T-bags.
Dc's were absolutely brilliant, I am so proud of them.

Sorry Franny but I loved my dress and felt like a christmas fairy. DD got dressed up because she said she wanted 'to look pretty like Mummy'. Aaaahhh.

My Mum and Dad are coming Boxing day, so balance will be restored.

And Zippi, what a pleasure....
Hullo to lully, another 'legend' I believe.

Will write off for now as this is getting long.
Hoping to take DC's to local raft-race tomorrow if H isn't too hungover.

xxxxx to all.

SuperBunny · 26/12/2008 03:10

Lionheart!

We had a fabulous day in the end. Dinner with friends was lovely and DS was fabulous - everyone kept saying, "Oh, he's so handsome" and "what good company he is" [proud mummy] I feel all emotional and gushy about how much I love him. I wasn't looking forward to christmas but DS made it so good.

Banana
pineapple
orange
pear
carrots
salad
cranberries
green beans
Juice

Night night my lovely bitches x

mangolassi · 26/12/2008 07:10

It sounds like Christmas was mostly successful, sorry to Avi though! We had various step-parents etc to see at Xmas when we were growing up, so regularly did it on the wrong day. Never mattered.

Ours was odd - dp had to go and urgently do un-postponable stuff I don't want to go into, but it's all to our longterm benefit

So we didn't really start Christmas till after 5pm, but it was ok - dd had all her presents, dp bought me stuff I actually like , we went to our favourite restaurant for dinner (I know, cheating, but maybe next year I'll make some canapes or something if one of you gives me a recipe. And there were some veggies involved - morning glory, which is a green, leafy, unsmokeable, oddly-named vegetable)...

FrannyandZooey · 26/12/2008 11:20

ooh i missed lionheart! happy christmas!

mango that is indeed mysterious but i hope all is well. i think going to restaurant v sensible and nice thing to do

TooT we never did find it. sorry I dreamt about you last night!

am chesty. i mean the coughing kind.

wish we had seen tatties

Good morning.

I have a hangover but that is my fault. I like today, more lazy and still lots of nice food to eat on the sofa.

DD is watching black beauty. She cried for about three days last time she watched it so I hope she has prepared herself for the death of ginger this time.

FrannyandZooey · 26/12/2008 12:14

LOL @ "I have a "hangover but that is my fault"
as opposed to time when dp pinned you down and poured gin down throat with a funnel
i like today so far, boys have gone out to park
i am thinking oh my my at prospect of 10 days of family togetherness
i think i am slightly poorly though
