Five ****ing mangoes, Four cauliflowers, Three french beans, TooTicky doves and a parsnip in a pear tree - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Usually I love your thread titles but just wanted to say giant this time.

mangolassi · 24/12/2008 07:58

Well, I'm impressed we got to nearly 500 posts before anyone noticed. Suppose it was inevitable though

GaspodisWearingASantaHatHoHoHo · 24/12/2008 08:03

LOL! I did notice it ages ago but just struck me this morning as dd was sitting next to me while I was on the laptop. She wouldn't have a clue what it meant anyway but I found it a bit offensive to have the c word in a title so I just thought I'd say so!
Have a great Christmas though, reckon I'll get my five a day in one meal on Christmas day, MIL always does loads of different types of veggies (honeyed parsnips anyone...yum...)

stuffmyturkey · 24/12/2008 08:17

Parumpapumfumf · 24/12/2008 10:59

I love you guys.

Hope you all have a Beautiful Fruitful Christmas, with bells on.

What you all eating tomorrow?
We have my neighbour and friend and her new DP over , as her children are going to their dad;s for the first time and she is feeling low about it.
I feel a bit wierd about sharing our christmas day with non-family, but she and her boys are extended family...and it does mean we feel obliged to actually, get dressed!
Everything I want to do today seems to be starting around 4pm - live nativity and carols, or dress our blessings tree, or go to a friends house for nibbles....

Anyway, am laying low for a while but I'd gladly dress myself in pink sequins from head to toe and drink a pint of pernod than not be able to talk to you lot.

Om Shanti,
Peace, love and lentils
xxx

TooTickyDoves · 24/12/2008 11:14

Aw, we love you soooo much

TooTickyDoves · 24/12/2008 11:16

Can anybody please help me with my stollen ?

Guadalupe · 24/12/2008 11:37

fuckety fuck, I am getting a cold. The timing! I have just consumed my own body weight in vit c and echinacea and cider vinegar and made a gargle and have a clear leek soup on the hob and have swallowed garlic and um, what else can I do apart from go to bed?

Toot - That is the most beautiful card I have ever seen, thank you so much. Do you know, someone brought me a home made stollen round as a christmas present! I have never tried it before. Delicious.

Right, cake is iced, ham glazed, presents wrapped, dh in a queue for the turkey, dcs making paper chains, think all is sorted.

Parumpapumfumf · 24/12/2008 11:39

Crack open a bottle of Prosecco and sink into obvlion, with a smile on your face, my dear.

Toot, can't help with stollen, I only know how to eat it.....

Guadalupe · 24/12/2008 11:40

lol, hadn't thought of that, what a good idea.

TooTickyDoves · 24/12/2008 11:43
TooTickyDoves · 24/12/2008 11:46

Oh I am eating redwood celebration roast and tofu wieners. Obviously veg will feature heartily, including the v. heavy celeriac I loving ly carried around town the other day.
Dp has bought venison which I suspect dcs will try. Except maybe dd1. Who is mostly vegan.
I am waffling now.

Guadalupe · 24/12/2008 11:50

mmmm, venison, and celeriac, yum.

Have you decided on the yeast? I would probably use half again ifswim.

TooTickyDoves · 24/12/2008 11:50

Oh, now I want apple sauce as well.

Dd1 says she is not eating celeriac.

HOW MUCH FRICKING YEAST????????!!!!!!!

Oh sod it, I will go out and do it when I come back.

TooTickyDoves · 24/12/2008 11:51

Oh, I don't know. It all seems a bit crucial.

Guadalupe · 24/12/2008 11:59

Why don't you use two bowls and put one and half packets in each bowl? Or is that not helpful.

littlerach · 24/12/2008 14:24

How did it go TooT/

Do you have stollen?

I have a goats cheese and tomato stack thing for lunch on Boxing Day when we are at home. Tomorrow I ma having everyhting but the meat.

Dds are watching Santa Claus, I have washed my hair and dh is st the pub

Merry Christmas everyone, you are all wonderful ladies and have cheered me up more than you know recently
