For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

SuperBunny · 23/12/2008 19:42

TooT, stop fretting!

Did you make stollen?

I have to go and watch Stuart Little. Is National Lampoons xmas vacation suitable for a 3 yr old? I suspect it is not but I can't remember.

FrayedKnot · 23/12/2008 19:47

SB I am very sorry I missed your birthday! I don;t know what you did or if you had a lovely day but I really hope you did.

at bum shoving exercise thoughts

Er...I do a yoga class once a week which I absolutely love, and the gym when I can. ideally I would go twice a week, but I find it really hard to find time to go during the day and don;t often feel like it later...although, yesterday, I went at 7.30pm and was still going at 9.

I have recently started running again (on the treadmill) and although I can;t keep going for very long I love it...the endorphin rush is much better

I always finish my work out with some yoga-ey stuff too.

I have been talking to someone about Iyengar yoga (sp?) and apparently it's the business.

Have probably scared you off with all that waffle.

TooTickyDoves · 23/12/2008 19:51

I haven't made stollen yet but I have all the ingredients. Since there is at least a week before Christmas I'm not too worried [comfortably deluded]

TooTickyDoves · 23/12/2008 19:52

FK, I intend to try yoga one day when I have a life.

FrannyandZooey · 23/12/2008 20:04

i got to show off about my present cupboard, that is good enough for me

FrayedKnot · 23/12/2008 20:12

littlerach · 23/12/2008 20:23

It was quite hard.
Then I did Yoga with Frank - that was nicer actually. Frank was understanding

I think I ma all ready for The Day.
think
And we don't need to do anything tonmorrow really, except church in the evening.

FrayedKnot · 23/12/2008 20:38

I like the thought that it would be harder, littlerach

SuperBunny · 23/12/2008 20:38

Thanks FK

I used to know a Iyangar. And she taught Iyengar yoga but she moved away before I got a chance to learn.

You're right, TooT. A whole week left

TinyWhiteFeather · 23/12/2008 20:54

Sax/sex.... tring to think up something witty bit am already blushing...but thinking it!!!

Lol at Toot and shoving things up bums --honestly this thread...you are all responsible for my downfall into corruption..(thank-you)

Sympathies on shin splints Franny. ouch. I got them earlier in the year.
Not a yoga person..can't stay still for long enough.
Have been told repeatedly to 'shut my gob' by DS today...delightful child. Got up his nose by saying OK.
I am not having a christmas name as I am feeling schizophrenic enough on MN as it is.

TigerFeet · 23/12/2008 21:01

Evenin' all

Friend and I are going to start walking at lunch time in the NY - I work a short day and only get half an hour for lunch, that's no reason why I can't get up off of my fat arse and move around a bit.

I'd love to do yoga, but I can't find anywhere round here that does classes at a time I can manage.

Only DD's stuff left to wrap now. We will make a start tonight then finish up tomorrow. No more shopping for the Feet family! Hoo-fecking-rah!

SuperBunny · 23/12/2008 21:07

I can't cope with sax sex and putting things up bums in one post. It's all too much.

TF, sounds like a v good idea. I need to work out how to be more active. I have turned into quite the lard-arse.

FrayedKnot · 23/12/2008 21:25

Mmm...when is a crisp not a crisp?

When it's a Riceworks gourmet brown rice chip, that's when

TinyWhiteFeather · 23/12/2008 21:41

Too many innuendo laden possibilities here SB...

Think I am in need of an endorphin injection FK i HAVE TO GO OUT FOR A RUN TOMORROW...THROW ME OFF THE THREAD IF AIA COME ON AND DON'T SAY i'VE BEEN FOR ONE. Oh bollox, capitals and I can't be bothered to re-type..

TooTickyDoves · 23/12/2008 21:46

Feather

FrayedKnot · 23/12/2008 21:48

I will probably not be on until the evening, tomorrow, TWF.

You have all day, but I will be stern if I find you haven't

TinyWhiteFeather · 23/12/2008 22:02

Toot..

OK, FK, I'll do it for the veggers.

I am very tired and was going to stay and chat but have got that cosy only just awake feeling, so I am going to go and grin inanely at Mock the Week until I fall asleep.

Goodnight..xx
