For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

by the way, I mean the Moldie thing is wholly unimportant in terms of my ability still to want to post to you, fmf, and with you on this thread (since I don't post regularly on much else)

the Moldie thing is clearly not "wholly unimportant" on MNet as a whole but that is not a discussion I want to bring into the yurt

when I took my first tentative steps into the Yurt, there was a FilthyMindedVixen who answered me and welcomed me and that's enough for me (Franny was off on MN Maternity Leave!)

SuperBunny · 23/12/2008 03:41

Get well wishes to Mr Avi.

Interesting Avocado tip. Where's thenewme? Was she just passing through?

Raisins
Carrot
Artichokes
Red Pepper
Olives
Juice
Grapes
Carrots (different ones)
Broccoli
Mushrooms
Spinach

Woohoo, MORE than ten!

poinsettia99divine · 23/12/2008 04:28

oh, SB, it does work yes indeedy!

SuperBunny · 23/12/2008 04:32

Can I just say again how much I love this thread title? Because I do. I love that it says cunting and that I am not shocked or upset by it and that it says TooTicky. It feels all homely and comforting.

SuperBunny · 23/12/2008 04:33

Daisy, why a drawer? Does it have to be a drawer? And would brown paper work or does it have to be newspaper?

poinsettia99divine · 23/12/2008 05:00

newspaper, yes it must be newspaper

drawer, yes, it must be somewhere dark but not too hot!

yes, I LOVE the title too

poinsettia99divine · 23/12/2008 05:02

and why because that is how it works it's special sparkly magic and transforms from being a cunting avocado into something altogether tastier!

It emerges from the drawer, dancing and smiling and lovely and, if you are lucky, doing a little march and twirling a baton

TinyWhiteFeather · 23/12/2008 07:04

I love you lot...'hearts' and xxxxx.

I am a fresh mango virgin also. I think they are scary. I have mangophobia.

I like Toots name being in the title and am not offended by the 'c' word but it makes me blush and it will probably be a cold day in hell before it passes my lips.....so's to speak!

About the moldies thing I just think people should live and let live, if there is a need for it for some people - c'est la vie. Why people have to get their knickers in a twist
(actually typed 'knockers' there) is beyond me. So if you are on it, hope it is good for you..if not there is a whole other world to enjoy.....so there!

Last day of peace and quiet work today. I love my jobs. If anyone is starting resolutions, mine will be getting my painting re-established; comitting to more meditation and playing my saxophone at least once a week.

Could sit here and waffle and drink tea all day but things to do. Hope someone's about later for a natter, I always miss it when it is busy on here.

Love to y'all....fruity kisses.....

TooTickyDoves · 23/12/2008 07:34

I used to have a sax. Am a violin girl at heart though.

TinyWhiteFeather · 23/12/2008 07:42

TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!! you're about!

I'm goint to work in a few minutes but I NEVER see anyone on here at this time...Hugs Toot and twirls her around..

You play the Violin --cool. I don't play very often but love having what little ability that I do.

DD says 'hi Toot' and she is all cuddly and just woken up.

TinyWhiteFeather · 23/12/2008 07:46

Could make a resolution to meet Toot a vegger!

TooTickyDoves · 23/12/2008 07:58

Feather!!!!!
Sorry, I didn't expect to see anybody so nipped over to fb.

Hello to dd

Yes yes let's meet.

And what about a nice vegger meet up in the spring? I thought Kew would be a nice 10/10 place, we could watch the bananas grow or something.

TinyWhiteFeather · 23/12/2008 07:58

Talking to myself again now.
Puts whoopy cushions under mangoes and goes aroung yurt setting traps and practical jokes.

Leaves with an evil cackle.....

TooTickyDoves · 23/12/2008 08:00

What sort of sax? I had a tenor.

I don't play much, people complain they can't hear the television
Dd1 plays too.
I want to learn to do folkie style fiddling.
One day when I actually have some time that is.

TooTickyDoves · 23/12/2008 08:02

No no I'm here !

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 23/12/2008 09:17

Thank you lovely veggers.x

FK, I love the idea of some bewildered stall holder speechless as 10 gorgeous pouting veggers clamour around his mangoes, pinching, sniffing and gorging Think we'd bring traffic to a stop!

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 23/12/2008 09:18

oh, think newme was just passing through. Think she wanted chat more than F&V. Last I saw she had started a new thread for herself. I hope she finds what she is looking for.

FrannyandZooey · 23/12/2008 09:21

I want to wish you all a splendiferous Christmas/or mid winter break or couple of days off work eating chocolate (depending on your family tradition) but I will probably not be around online much as it is ds's birthday today and then, you know, Christmas.
So hugs to all, and hope there are plenty of mangoes/satsumas/parnsips(for Dg who doesn't like fruit)/cheese/crying chocolate in your stockings and see you all soon.
Peace, love, sparkles
x

pinkspottywellies · 23/12/2008 10:24

Managed to catch up a bit. You're a busy lot.

I was awake most of the night and ended up having cornflakes, paracetamol and a cry in my mum's kitchen. Going back to bed now [exhausted]

Will probably not post properly til we get home on Sun lest DH frown at me for being on the t'internet.

My sis is coming today. I'm so excited.

Fruity Christmas Wishes one and all (even you FMV, I'm at a loss as to all this moldie malarkey but I still love you anyway)

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 23/12/2008 10:29

I don't want to clog up this thread and I am going to piss off for christmas, but I do want to say that I am not bright enough to have considered all the possible ramifications from following a couple of emails a month or so ago which basically said: ''come and play'' so I did. I am a sucker for as many forms of communication as possible (I have no life )
I know ignorance is no defence in the eyes of the law, but...
I am truly sorry that so much angst and hurt has been caused by something which seemed so innocous (sp?) to me.

DumbledoresGirl · 23/12/2008 10:30

Poinsettia, thanks for the avocado tip. Does it matter which newspaper?

I still have another day of Mumsnetting before me but Happy Christmas to those of you who are off on holidays today. I hope to get to know you all better in 2009, the year I will dedicate to the buying of my first ever mango.

DumbledoresGirl · 23/12/2008 10:32

FMV, forget it, who cares about it? Not me! Go and enjoy your son's birthday. Is ds2 better now? My ds2 (whose birthday it was 2 days ago has a filthy cough and is rapidly losing his voice).

littlerach · 23/12/2008 10:37

FMV, I still lurve ya

DG, glad you're still with us

Have dropped dd1 at a friend's and we are off to buy nice christmas food now.

Had a yucky pear yesterday - sob. Not quite c but almost.
