For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It's an Ergo, Franny. I love the carrier but am less impressed by their business practices. But anything that allows someone to carry a 3 yr old for hours on end is a good thing. It's too cold for him to walk 3 miles (it would take forever and there is serious risk of frostbite to noses and cheeks today) and I refuse to put him in a stroller now.

((LR)) (since this seems to have become a huggy thread today)

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 18:58

erm franny, I am about to do something ''suicidal'' out there in MN.

Fruiters, I love you all very much x

FrannyandZooey · 22/12/2008 19:00

oh what is up with them b unny? i know the ergo well and have thought about getting one

i used ring sling with ds quite a lot as toddler but also used my buggy till he was really big - all the shopping fitted in it so well and we were always in a hurry - he was SLOW walker

FrannyandZooey · 22/12/2008 19:01

what, are you coming out fmf? i think it'll be ok

good luck
you're always welcome here anyway and i'll punch anyone who says otherwise
xx

FMF, what's going on?

Franny, they apparently got stroppy with other people who made carriers that they felt were too similar to the Ergo and also with people who died them different colours. Can't remember all the details. But they are really good. A buggy is easier though

FrannyandZooey · 22/12/2008 19:09

hmm, not knowing the details, but i think it's fair enough toget the hump if people copy your product? assume this was more than that, though

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 22/12/2008 19:12

Yeah, I can't remember. Apparently they started as a SAHM business but when they got big, they went round shutting similar SAHM businesses down. I dunno. It is a great carrier and I am very glad I have one!

FrannyandZooey · 22/12/2008 19:14

i thought fmf meant she was going to announce something (i will let her say what), but maybe she means she is leaving? i hope not
anyway fmf as i said you are always welcome in here

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 22/12/2008 19:16

FMF?

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 19:28

I don't want to leave.
I have just outed myself as a moldie, so that people can choose whether they wish to 'speak' to me on MN, as I cannot bear the thought of anyone thinking me two-faced. I am hideously honest and it has been eating away at me.

If you are unaware of the Moldie thing, fine.
If you are aware of it, just please remember that this is me and I hope you know me well eough to know I would never have been involved in anything I felt to be bitchy or nasty. And there are an awful lot of rumours and miscnceptions flying around.

DumbledoresGirl · 22/12/2008 19:35

Thanks for being honest FMV. I wish the other 141 (or however many there are - it sounds like the JWs and their 144,000 or however many it is who will go to heaven!) would also own up because, now that I have got over the upset at knowing I have been excluded from this group by people I thought were friends, I find all I want to know who is who is a Moldie. Sad I know, but I hate the secrecy.

But I came here to get away from that discussion, didn't I?

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 19:39

DG, I don't want to pollute the special atmosphere of this lovely thread; it's always been a sort of safe haven. But I felt I needed to share this here as well as on the main threads. On there, 80 per cent don't know me and possibly, won't give a flying fuck. But this is my MN family....

FrannyandZooey · 22/12/2008 19:39

i think you have done the right thing fmf as i know it would have been bothering you and also it has been a bit awkward on here with people alluding to it and there still being secrecy etc
i think this will all blow over given time and although i disagree with many things about the other forum, i don't feel any differently about you than i did before this happened
which sounds patronising probably! but is meant in a good way

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 19:41

thanks mate. Just to reiterate, I have been true to myself on there as here. And also to stress that I will still be posting on there x

SuperBunny · 22/12/2008 19:41

Oh, is that all! I was imaging all sorts of other things. I am not getting involved with the moldie thing. I don't care who posts elsewhere. As long as you keep posting here, FMF

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 19:44

er, ((wipes away tear))

sgae and chestnut stuffing...erm, clementine...grapes...erm, do fingernails count as one of me five-a-day?? lots of calcium?

DumbledoresGirl · 22/12/2008 19:51

Oh, have I blown my welcome here then? Was just responding to your post FMV.

In case I haven't, I reckon I have had 4 maybe 5 portions today: banana, orange juice, tomatoes, red peppers, carrots (but not a huge amount of any as they were in spaghetti bolognese.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 19:57

DG, of course not, I feel terrible for luring you here.
But it geniunely is a safe place away from some of the madness out there. Even though we have terriblely offensive ways of referring to mangoes.
And the other great thing about 10/10nnners, is that you can be away for weeks/months and still get a warm welcome back.
There is always someone here to keep the home fires burning, as it were.

Seriously though, if any of you lot have an ishoo with me/moldie situation, email me to talk about it.

DumbledoresGirl · 22/12/2008 20:02

So I can feel properly initiated, can someone please explain the aversion to mangoes?

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 20:04

can it be me who explains?

SuperBunny · 22/12/2008 20:05

Go on, FMF.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 20:05

mangoes, in the wrong season, have a tendancy to be rock hard for days then go off in seconds; and we all love mangoes. So a cunting mango is an expression of diappointment and grief when the delicious, exotic treat fails to live up to expectations....

FrannyandZooey · 22/12/2008 20:09

god yes we worship mangoes
but a cunting mango is an existential angsty kind of sadness in the world
it expresses all that is wrong with our society
it promises carnal delights but is rotten and disgusting inside

OP posts:
DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 22/12/2008 20:10

what franny said...

SuperBunny · 22/12/2008 20:12

Like my bananas. I swear they are cunting

Remember when we used to cross cunting out so as to be less offensive?
