For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lol @ ordering from Father Christmas. My DS will be sorely disappointed. A live reindeer might be hard to arrange too

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 20:37

I like the fish!

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 15/12/2008 20:41

at fishies....they are purdy.

Franny, you are a girl. Boys like Hobbits. Get used to it. Some of us have had to read it out loud 4 times now...

pinkspottywellies · 15/12/2008 20:43

The fish in the picture are real glass. There are some shells that are plastic. I don't know where they're from. Possibly the poo fairy (who writes letters to children and does sticker charts).

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 20:46

I suppose if I had to choose one then the mako fish is quite good.

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 20:51

I haven;t read the Hobbit

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 20:52

I got ds1 the hobbit graphic novel. He struggles with long books still, though I have read it to him in the past. Is there going to be a film?

OsmosisFaLaLaLaLa · 15/12/2008 20:59

Thanks for the witness shitness support... DH has instructed me to sit down and 'take a letter'. I think he has pretentions to office management. If you had met the geezah you'd rofl.

TinyWhiteFeather · 15/12/2008 21:11

Flippin' Norah.....
Yes,
no,
octopus,
casserole,
educational quizzes,
no, again,
yes,
yes.

DD is better! and sleeping peacefully.
I have changed my name in a sulk because apparently the 'smiles' thing, is DS's practice chat up line.....Rofl....bless!

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 21:17

I like this name, mou

TinyWhiteFeather · 15/12/2008 21:20

Yeah. I might stick with this one. I paint white feathers in my pictures sometimes.

I must confess I don't read much fiction to my DS, I am more of a reference book person.

TinyWhiteFeather · 15/12/2008 21:23

Frayed, you are not selfish. I would go insane if I didn't have days like that.

FrannyandZooey · 15/12/2008 21:53

ok have read book up to puddings section
like her attitude, she rants about processed food then uses smash when convenient
not very vegan friendly, but a few good recipes in there - nut roast, veggie burgers, ratatouille, moussaka, soups etc
but it's just a good read really - no faffing, good honest cooking kind of thing - i ordered from the library
definitely a couple of things i will try

Sounds very good.

Someone sent DS Charades from the ELC for xmas. I have been pretending to be a car and an ice cream all afternoon

TooTicky · 15/12/2008 22:07

at smash

TooTicky · 15/12/2008 22:08

TWF, may I call you simply Feather?

TooTicky · 15/12/2008 22:10

Hello SB

The Hobbit is rather lovely, although I do find the songs a little tedious. Be different if they were being sung by real dwarves/elves/goblins I am sure.

I love the reading at bedtime thing - it is very calming and very bonding. We sort of take it in turns to choose books. It is probably the best part of the day for me. Well, that and my wind down/MN time

TooTicky · 15/12/2008 22:16

What can I keep in the house to feed to endlessly hungry children?
Must be easy, nutritious, cheapish and....well, what they want to eat.
We are getting through industrial amounts of mini weetabix and oatcakes atm. Oh, and clementines.

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 22:17

I can't wait to be able to read 'real' books at bedtime. I should probably try the Hobbit again. This year I have managed to read many books I felt I should have read before so perhaps I can add the Hobbit to my list next year.

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 22:22

Cream crackers? Do they have any nutritious value? Apples? Oats to make poridge? Don't know really.

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 22:22

crumpets?

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 22:23

prob not much nutritious value in them. I suppose you could use wholemeal flour. I wonder if you can do that.
