For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No ice lollies - it has stopped throbbing now though

Do you think AIBU to want a day to myself this week?

We were given an extra day's holiday at work and I have booked to have Thursday off. My plans are to potter, ice the Christmas cake, potter, wrap the last few presents, potter, maybe go to the gym. It's only while DS is at school, anyway.

Now DH is muttering about taking the afternoon off and I have just told him I don;t want him to. If he does that, he will be around and underfoot and wanting attention and I wanted the day and the house TO MYSELF.

That probably sounds terribly selfish but like everyone else, I expect, I never have time like that nromally and I really would love it.

FrayedKnot · 15/12/2008 20:06

I like the sea turtle

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 20:07

What a lot of weeing talk. Ds2 is nearly two, it hasn't occured to me to begin potty training. My friend's ds does a poo every day on the potty apparently. He is six months old.

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 20:08

Ouch FK. I think your DH should NOT take Thursday off. That is YOUR day and you have plans.

Toot, I bet Father Christmas does lurk on here. My DS was describing something he wanted for christmas and I told him that Santa might not be able to make it. He glared at me and said, "He already made it and it's in Target so he just has to go and buy it!"

Yes, I am RH. Will check msgs again

I need a wee too

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 20:08

Oh, god, you all love the fish.

TooTicky · 15/12/2008 20:08

FK, not unreasonable at all. Hope you get your day!!!

SuperBunny · 15/12/2008 20:08

Pooing on a potty at 6mos old? Are they doing that EC thuing?

TooTicky · 15/12/2008 20:09

I did my wee on the toilet

TooTicky · 15/12/2008 20:10

I would like a day [wistful]

FrannyandZooey · 15/12/2008 20:12

My friend was saying once that her ds did a poo every day after breakfast so I suggested that instead of washing another nappy that she hold him over the toilet. I guess if they are very regular or if you can read the signs that they are about to poo you might as well hold them over the loo.

FrayedKnot · 15/12/2008 20:13

DS wrote a letter to FC this year and then afterwards said to me

"Mummy you know those things I ordered from Father Christmas"

pinkspottywellies · 15/12/2008 20:13

Dh is off work for 3 weeks now.

pinkspottywellies · 15/12/2008 20:15

My auntie insists that everything on my cousins lists to FC is then got by him to the point that one year my mum wasn't allowed to buy the present she wanted to give my cousin because FC was getting it

FrayedKnot · 15/12/2008 20:17

How odd Pink. I'm hoping DS has only a fairly vague recollection now of what he "ordered" because I think FC may have interpreted it quite loosely...

FrannyandZooey · 15/12/2008 20:20

ds1 says he "would quite like a live reindeer"

Ok there's a photo on my profile of the fish before they cause any more riots. It's not very good in that size - you can't see them clearly but I have a nail varnish bottle in there for perspective. (Odd I know but first thing to hand!)

pinkspottywellies · 15/12/2008 20:25

I used to tell PILs that I wanted an alpaca (to keep at thier house) but I would have died if they had got one!!

FrayedKnot · 15/12/2008 20:25

How about a glass fish, instead, Franny?
