For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh god I should be cooking food.

Come and walk here one day Guad. We have mist'n'village'n'stuff.

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 16:42

Tatties, come back!

Toot, your boys sound lovely.

I'm bored. I have much to do but don't want to do it.

TooTicky · 07/12/2008 16:45

I too have much to do but there is a small girl sleeping in my lap and she is not quite ready to pop on the sofa.

Tatties · 07/12/2008 17:03

I'm here! Just ordered a few more Christmas presents and I think my list is coming together now. The past couple of years I have been intending to make (knit) gifts but then it gets too close and I realise I knit far too slowly to be able to do that

I had to buy some not-very-local and rather-out -of-season fruit yesterday as I was craving something other than apples and satsumas and my skin is looking terrible. Just making dinner now (bulk-cooked veggie sauce from freezer to go with pasta)

TooTicky · 07/12/2008 17:38

I haven't even started on Christmas [glum]

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 17:39

Hooray, Tatties!

I only crocheted 2 gifts this year but that is 2 more than usual. I will do even better next year

I have a headache.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 07/12/2008 18:07

I am rather stressed at the xmas/birthday thing - people keep thrusting money at me and saying ''oh can you buy something for DH's birthday/ds's birthday/xmas etc''. When am I supposed to find time to go shopping?

At this rate no one will have anything to unwrap....

TooTicky · 07/12/2008 18:09

fold the money into elaborate origami models

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 18:22

Sounds infuriating, FMF. Can you do any of it online?

I have nothing for DS. I thought I'd be ok about it but am starting to feel a bit shit now

pinkspottywellies · 07/12/2008 18:23

I'm glad you changed your reindeer FMV. The pedant in me was also slightly irked

Carrots, tomato, broccoli, parsnip, rhubarb, pear/satsuma.

Franny I think I remember someone suggesting before that you try the 'I hope this isn't terribly embarrassing for you but you keep pronouncing it wrong and I wouldn't want you to keep getting it wrong and feel terribly foolish' Think I'd go for something along those lines. Failing that 'bog off' would be worth a try!

FrannyandZooey · 07/12/2008 18:51

LOL pink
yes i can see those would both be quite effective
ah well will let you know how / if I get on

we have sorted ds1's room to within an inch of its life
to extent that friends are coming round tomorrow and I am NOT GOING TO LET THEM IN THERE [uber control freak]
I will however take to park and for cake etc

it was great actually as ds got really into it as we went on and let me give away / put in loft / chuck more and more things
god i feel purged
also sorted top of one of my cupboards which was piled high with utter junk
now just the kitchen to organise [fear] [loathing]

PLUS i went to gym for an hour
yay me

god i talk shite on here, chuck me in the pit someone

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/12/2008 18:55

right
need your help with the typical franny oh so important dilemma

dress ending on eBay tonight
completely impractical as cannot bf in it
BUT
I have nothing nice to wear at christmas
i have tried it on in monsoon and it looks fab
it is new and not terribly expensive
i could maybe sell it on again after christmas?
however i am in between sizes atm, this size is slightly too large....

hmmm

hmmmm
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

OP posts:
TooTicky · 07/12/2008 19:00

well if it's too large, and you're not getting bigger, are you? then look for a smaller one

TooTicky · 07/12/2008 19:01

oh, and you can't bf in it?

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 19:09

Pink, that's a great suggestion!

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 19:13

I say NO to dress - if it is too big it won't look good and if you can't BF in it, you're not going to be able to wear it much.

I tried to clear out DS's toys with him but he insisted he needs everything I don't want to get rid of stuff without him because I think it is important that he understands that he is lucky to have Stuff and that some children would love the old Stuff that he doesn't need any more but perhaps my expectations are a bit high for a 3 yr old.

FrannyandZooey · 07/12/2008 19:16

ah shite
even though slightly too big it still looks really nice on [wistful]
and I can no way afford it new
and there isn't one in the smaller size (which tbh is slightly TOO small so I amn't going to get one that fits exactly)

and no I can't breastfeed in it
but I mean there are whole MINUTES of the day when I am NOT breastfeeding
and I could be wearing this dress for some of them [irrational]

honestly I just thought I looked quite NICE in this and I thought dp might be pleasantly surprised to see me looking quite nice instead of like a bag of porridge tied in the middle with a bit of string

OP posts:
littlerach · 07/12/2008 19:19

Go on, buy it

TooTicky, we met Bill Odie at Slimbridge.
He was actually smaller than me

Dd1 was v excited as she likes spring/autumn watch.

Um, carrots, broccolo, sweet pots, pear, tomato.
Rather crapola really.

Buy it, Fran

FrannyandZooey · 07/12/2008 19:19

Bunny I found when ds1 was 3 he also Needed Everything
you have to do it by stealth at that age I'm afraid - I believe the usual etiquette is to put the stuff you want rid of in a box somewhere, and if after reasonable amount of time the stuff has not been missed / asked for - chuck it

alternately you could at this stage bring out the box and watch the absolute joy at being reunited with all the old stuff
in fact you would probably not need to buy any christmas presents if you timed it right

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 07/12/2008 19:19

FrannyandZooey, I'm quite sure you never look like a bag of porridge tied in the middle (although, cooked porridge or just dry oats ). Can you get it in the larger size and have it altered slightly? (Maybe even add some nipple flaps? )

FrannyandZooey · 07/12/2008 19:20

aha littlerach is my friend
you see the thing is I know they are right rach
you know they are too

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/12/2008 19:21

my dressmaking friend has gone to france for 3 months
most selfish of her
otherwise we would have nipple flaps in it in an instant

i ruddy do pink, tragic isn't it? this is apparently what happens when you have babies in your late 30s and DON'T get morning sickness too badly

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 19:24

Well, if you want it that much Fran, you should buy it! And you're right - it will be totally worth it in those minutes when you are not BF. I love nipple flags!

Good idea re toys & xmas.

How tiny is Bill Oddie? I saw Nigella once and she was quite little too.

FrannyandZooey · 07/12/2008 19:26

so if i wear this dress on christmas day i just go and take it off when i need to bf ds2, right?
shall i ask for a slinky dressing gown as well?
