For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

shattered. I have spent a very tiring day as my work had organised an evcent so today I have chaperoned the mayor around for 2 hours, smiling and making small talk til my face ached, made 200 cups of tea and served soup, hefted tables around, sorted out a dozen mums and their babes, and helped hang pictures for an art display.

Can barely type now but have to go and see a secondary school for ds in an hour .

Erm, tomato and lentil soup and a banana. But lots of exercise...

fullmoonfiend · 08/10/2008 17:36

sorry, that was me.

I was flirting with James Bond last night, you know how it is on here

you weren't kidding about the name changing FMF/V/Molly!

FrayedKnot · 08/10/2008 19:29

Evening all

Everyone seems to be doing very well

I was having quite a good day until about 4.30 and then DS started being a nightmare child and it all went horribly wrong.

It involved mud and running away and plug sockets.

I get particulalry stressed when DS does something which I feel is dangerous and that he is supposed to know not to do. Is it too much to expect a 4 year old not to fiddle with plugging things in because you have told them and tried to explain, about why electricity can be dangerous? Ditto with running away and getting lost / dnager of cars?

F&V: barely 5

Cake / biscuits to recover from ever decreasing circle of stress: 10 (probably)

Apricots, tinned strawberries (in porridge - yum) oj, avocado, chilli (lots of beans, tomatoes, onion, mushroom, pepper). I'm going to watch Jamie's food thing tonight and sit eating fruit while I watch. And the cleaning I did today must amount to my 10 mins exercise.

Moony's always name changing. She puts it down to being a gemini. I have almost never namechanged however (fellow gemini).

I don't think I want to know about jar of umbilical cord.

fullmoonfiend · 08/10/2008 21:06

disclaimer: I never change for inflammatory or malicious purposes....merely if I think it's a wheeze. And then I am always happy to admit who I am anyway.
But I do have a couple of secret names for, y'know, bumsex personal threads.

I have been lurkin for a while on mumsnet and this is my first post. I was wondering if I could join in here where you eat fruit and vegetables as you do all seem to be a very nice and friendly group. Also I do eat a number of vegetables during the day, and think I could contribute to your conversations.

Would that be okay with you or do I have to do something else first?

Fanciful · 08/10/2008 21:18

I have now just done my seconnd post of mumsnet!!!

I will wait to hear if it is okay if i join in here though, as am not sure it is proper just to come and join in where I might not be accepted. Thanks

pinkspottywellies · 08/10/2008 21:20

There is an initiation process Fanci, but it's secretive. You'll know when we start. Come join us

FrayedKnot · 08/10/2008 21:21

Hello Fanciful

No just wade on in...we are very friendly

But you might have to sweep out the yurt occasionally

Sometimes the peelings get out of hand

Oh....and of course we need to tell all the newbies about

the pit

berolina · 08/10/2008 21:23

good evening

tired.

Apple. Sage, grown in (on)? the allotment of ds1's Lovely Kindergarten.

Guad, I have house envy. I have a very clear picture in my head of what I imagine it looks like, and it is making me all homesick. (I have a picture of you in my head, too - you are dark blonde, elegant and wear long coats).

In fact, it is making me very homesick indeed. I think I am going to slope off for wine a self-indulgent sadness-fest.

SuperBunny · 08/10/2008 21:24

Bumsex, FMF

grapes (2)
strawberries
bananas (2)

and, for supper: stovies with broccoli and peas then kiwi

berolina · 08/10/2008 21:24

oh hello newbies. Sorry. I am usually in a better mood

SuperBunny · 08/10/2008 21:25

Hello Bero. I have been lurking a bit. I have seen you pop in and out. Hope you are ok.

Hello Newbies. And oldies. And everyone.

pinkspottywellies · 08/10/2008 21:26

Oh yes, the pit

berolina · 08/10/2008 21:28

hello SB. I am fine, albeit currently melancholy.

fullmoonfiend · 08/10/2008 21:31

Hello fanciful - nah, come join us, is fine! All we need is a nekkid pic of you...

I am in secondary school turmoil.

OP posts:
Fanciful · 08/10/2008 21:41

I don't understand even a little bit about what you have said, but I do think that you think that it is okay if I post here, but I don't know what nekkid means. do i have to set up a profile page with a picture on it - what is nekkid? Thank you for saying I could join you though.
Today I have eaten some carrots, some peas, some cabbage and also a number of different fruits.
Also do you think my name is alright? I have lurked for a long time and then decided that i would just try to join in on this talkboard and i wanted to be called fancy because that is what dp calls me, but it wasn't available and so i tried words a bit like that, which i looked up. I am not even sure what it means!!!!

fullmoonfiend · 08/10/2008 21:46

Fanciful, we are open to all, non-judgemental and (hoepfully) welcoming

Nekkid means maked. But I am teasing you.
Some of us have been on this thread for a long time (too long?) and so we do have some 'in-jokes'. But they are not meant to exclude others.
So welcome, eat lots of lovely fruit and veg, do as much excersise as you can manage and come here and tell us about it!

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 08/10/2008 21:46

naked not maked....

OP posts:
Fanciful · 08/10/2008 21:53

Oh I see. I don't think i read that thread then where you showed naked pictures. i didn't think you were like that really. sorry if i have got the wrong end of the stick here and perhaps i will go and try posting elsewhere too. but thanks

fullmoonfiend · 08/10/2008 21:54

Oh fanciful, I am teasing. Sorry, please ignore me and continue on here.

OP posts:
Fanciful · 08/10/2008 21:56

okay, i can take a joke just a bit unsure of myself here/
