For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Pumpkin's gotten hold of my chard?

OsmosisBOOnana · 21/10/2008 11:54

hammouhouseofhorror · 21/10/2008 12:00

Just me then Daisy.....

missing you already

OsmosisBOOnana · 21/10/2008 12:04

good one TF!

Sara Cox just played my best friend's brother's song and it's her track of the week! I remember when he was a nipper..... how we used to torment him.

Frank Turner - Long live the Queen. check it out.

OsmosisBOOnana · 21/10/2008 12:10

You would like Frank fumf, we force fed him Levellers for many years. You can hear it just a leeetle bit!

TigerFeet · 21/10/2008 12:12

Mou

Yesterday was hideous all round - I did do a basic schoolboy error that cost the company ££££££ OMG OMG OMG . I thought it would be arse on the line time but it was OK, everyone has been reasonable about it and no one has called me a twat which is what I probably deserve

Will listen out for it tomorrow OsBa when I am not at work. Oddly I much prefer Sara Cox to Jo Whiley.

Oh lordy lord I have just read back 100x trolling and spat diet coke wholesome water all over the screen

TigerFeet · 21/10/2008 12:14

"How cool"

[snort]

MamaG · 21/10/2008 12:14

Poor DD tigerfeet - but agree, it would have been cruel to deprive her off showing off her war wounds!

banana

OsmosisBOOnana · 21/10/2008 13:06

Hello MamaG! Glad the bean has turned!

I am not a Jo Whiley fan either. Way too fond of herself.

Now then, I am not allowed back on here for at least 2 hours. Have lots of work to do. Don't let me in.

What did you do TF? Are you poisoning the nation?

TigerFeet · 21/10/2008 13:41

banana
3 x satsumas (yum)
apple
melon/grape salady thing

morevegmorevegmorevegrequired

Good lord no OsBa, they don't let me anywhere near the actual product - no, twas a packaging error.

pinkandbluespottywellies · 21/10/2008 13:54

Butternut squash soup, prunes, rhubarb, banana, grapes

Work this morning. DD didn't even glance up when I left her at toddlers. Humph. Having a non-clingy child does nothing for the ego

We've had 'pumpkin's gotten hold of my chard' but I love Night of the Living Veg for hallowe'en week

Thanks for the drink tips (no pun intended!) She does have lidded cups but bites the spouts so I wanted her to have a proper cup, just at mealtimes so she's sat in one place with it. I don't mind accidents, I know we'll have spills. It just annoys me when she does it to have a look at the puddle! Maybe I need to leave it til she's older.

TF sounds like a crappy day, hope today's better. I also don't like Jo Whiley. I always didn't like her voice and personality but then I saw her on a Derren Brown show and don't like how she looks either. So now I picture her annoying face alongside her annoying voice !

CharleeInChains · 21/10/2008 13:56

Blimey this thread fills up quickly! Deffo time for another me thinks! Can you put a link on this one when you make another FMF? I get lost very easily.

I have put on a veg packed beef and ale casserole for dinner which i will have with steamed veg as well.

I have aslo had an apple, pear, grapes and my daily dose of Watermelon.

TigerFeet · 21/10/2008 15:42

OsBa I saw this and thought of you, particularly in light of your new student status.

Charlee we have fumf very well trained - she will link to the new thread for us. You ain't the only one who gets lost

OsmosisBOOnana · 21/10/2008 16:03

Did a good 2 hours reading, writing n stuff
I have to write a 1 page synopsis of a 17 page article on 'lay exeprtise' snoresville!

TooT, on closer inspection of your directions I am lacking your road name and number!

I may well miss toddler group, will be trying to get back across Bristol at rush hour, which combined with my legendary lack of sense of direction may mean I don't get to you till tomorrow, hungry and cross!

Should I bring anything with me? a partridge perhaps?

DD - I have a deep love of game, far superior to supermarket offerings of sanitised 'meat'. Venison is my favourite though. I often do a venison wellington which always goes down well, or just roast the loin and serve with blueberry jus. PONCE ALERT!!!!

OsmosisBOOnana · 21/10/2008 16:04

I think that cat has been watching me at 'work' TF

daisy99divine · 21/10/2008 16:54

Oh, Osba, let me know how partridge goes. I realise that my F&V are all those you can stuff in your mouth without cooking

none of mine are the "beef stew and vegetable" variety

fullmOOOOOWHOOOOOnfiend · 21/10/2008 18:36

hello
House eerily quiet now, children all gone home and my two are playing with lego.

I have had some hummous and salsa. Er that's it. mini sausages party rings wotsits

How productive are you lot going to be tonight? Or can I leave a new thread until tomorrow night?

OsmosisBOOnana · 21/10/2008 19:00

nothing to add here.

Guadalupe · 21/10/2008 19:34

I like game, pheasants, partridge and venison too. If anyone is in Norfolk you should go to Holkham Hall and see the earl of leicester taking tea on the terrace while you stroll to the estate shop surrounded by deer as far as the eye can see.

The shop has the most splendid venison pies that you can take over to Holkham beach for a picnic as the sun goes down. North norfolk has some amazing beaches. Has anyone seen The Duchesse? They filmed lots of it there.

Happy birthday to your ds, FMV. I must give your e-mail to ds1, he's mentioned wanting to write a couple of times and I keep forgetting. Doesn't Solfest seem like years ago now?

MamaG - Fab news that your baby is the right way up! I did lots of being on all fours last time round. It was very tiresome and no good for the knees.

Toot- Have you tried the new Booja booja raspberry yet? They are in the fridges and are even better than anything so far. I only need one.

littlerach · 21/10/2008 19:42

Oooh, I was near Norfolk a the weekend, MrsC.

Aldeburgh to be precise.

Was lovely and sunny and we were right by the beach.

Lots of lovely food too.

And crab fishing at walberswick )sp???).

I want to move ther

Guadalupe · 21/10/2008 19:51

Now I have never been to Aldeburgh and I'm not sure why. I often mean to go the festival. We never make it further than Walberswick, it's one of my favourite places. We lived just outside Southwold when I was about eleven so we used to cycle there all the time and my best friend's family had a boat in the harbour. It was great fun.

fullmOOOOOWHOOOOOnfiend · 21/10/2008 20:10

oh.I keep reading venison as penison...

sorrry. As you were....

Guadalupe · 21/10/2008 20:31

Are you tired, FMV?

fullmOOOOOWHOOOOOnfiend · 21/10/2008 20:48

knackered. I am feeling a little emotional and have just had to endure 2 marathon phonecalls in a row from heavily depressed brother and angsty good friend...
And I am a little high on additives, sugar and e-numbers wine
