For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Hello

have you finished apple pie yet?

daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 22:29

and did you go to see the pigs?

TooTicky · 19/10/2008 22:34

Pie all gone I'm afraid. Plenty more apples in the garden though

Yes, we saw the pigs - they were lovely. I want to make one

TooTicky · 19/10/2008 22:40

I keep opening the cupboards in search of chocolate but there isn't any. Not even cocoa powder.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 19/10/2008 22:52

WE ARE TIRED OF BEING 2ND CLASS MN CITIZENS

WE WANT COMPS!

TooTicky · 19/10/2008 22:54
Hmm
daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 22:55

I have chocolate Toot

slightly about the pigs, are they art then, not snorting bacon-to-be??

and I assume ClaudiaSchiffer is not a regular 10/10? Actually the stroller baby thing I have won was for signing up for a newsletter and I have now read the blurb and I suspect it is somewhat hideous...

daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 22:56

Like your
I guess the posts crossed

TooTicky · 19/10/2008 23:01

Vegan chocolate? [hopeful]

The was definitely for the orifice person.

The pigs were - well, fun! They were dotted around Bath for a while and it was great turning a corner and discovering another one. Nice to see them all today but rather crowded.
A lovely project really, and in a good cause. What more could you ask?
I'm just sorry they are being auctioned off because people won't be able to enjoy them any more.

Why am I still up?

daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 23:05

How lovely, I think finding pigs lurking around corners probably cheers up one's day

It sounds a bit like Cow Parade, but I haven't heard of the pig one

Don't know if it's vegan chocolate, sorry, but I am SURE that it is

don't know why you're still up - I'm working (yeah, right! Working on MN!)

now go to bed!

TooTicky · 19/10/2008 23:09

Cow parade? I've not heard of that.

Yes, I will go to bed. V. busy day tomorrow!

Hope your work goes well and that you also get enough sleep

daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 23:19

well, cow parade was cows. Made out of various arty things and painted and left lurking in unlikely city scapes. Like grazing outside the houses of parliament and stuff.

Very cheering

Oooo look. The chocolate packet says "Just right to be eaten by Toot on way to bed"

So there

sleep tight

SuperBunny · 20/10/2008 00:09

Hello

Thank you for ignoring namechange fiasco Thread deleted and I have turned over a new leaf.

I like the pigs. We still have a few cows in Chicago. Did it start here? I saw them in London many moons ago. There were globes last year too, all along the lakefront but pigs look much better.

Bee, I'll have the lasagna if you think it's weird to give it to the baby lady.

I'm cold.

SuperBunny · 20/10/2008 00:12

Toot, do you have issues with shellac? I am still disturbed by it.

S1ur · 20/10/2008 00:16

SuperBunny am v pleased you have new leaves and like pigs.

Will post oyu a jumper.

SuperBunny · 20/10/2008 00:18

SuperBunny · 20/10/2008 00:25

Thank you!

hammouhouseofhorror · 20/10/2008 07:11

Mooorrrrnning!!!(bounces into yurt like tigger and then remembers others might still be sleeping). ooops!
Lots of piglets around here, and millions of cows, and sheep (dopey).

They did a thing around here with 'scarecrows' doing the olympics...surreal!!

Sorry you are cold SB, i don't function properly if I am cold. Wish I could do something for you. Thinks hard.

Work today, but I love mondays anyway.

Catch up later. Hoping all have a good day.

CharleeInChains · 20/10/2008 08:11

God i hate Girls aloud they are all brimming over with smugosity!

I am having problems with my face exploding i have horrible painfull spots and coldsores all the time this past few months.

I look like Amy Winehouse.

fumf · 20/10/2008 08:43

morning all, will read thread later! I have a very-overexcited small boy who turns 8 tomorrow, which is horrifying, as he is my bay-bay...
around 8/10 yesterday for veg - can I count home-made apple crumble?

OsmosisBOOnana · 20/10/2008 11:30

I am going to make apple crumble tonight, and then not eat it like the martyr I am.

No, we didn't make it to the pigs, no petrol and DH left for work with my bank card .

I think he is on a charmless offensive atm.

I have 2 partridges in my fridge all snuggled up next to each other, now I need to decide what to do with the little fellas.

red cabbage again methinks.

Am doing nutritional analysis today - we had to keep a food diary of everything that passed our lips for 5 days in a row.

Tricky - lots of weighing and then dividing and working out of %'s and subtracting weights of dish etc etc. Am intrigued to see how I fare... Maybe I will discover I am desperately lacking in some micronutrient which will solve all my bodily oddities.

Hope evryone is well, my crick is nearly gone. Yay! And my new ear adornments have nearly stopped hurting so I might be able to sleep comfortably tonight! Double Yay! And I didn't fight so much with DD yesterday and she ate everything I gave her without a show down!!!!!!!!"!!!!!!

We still on for Weds TooT? Can you FB me your postcode? Then I can work out an AA route from SD's school. Cunning eh?

OsmosisBOOnana · 20/10/2008 11:32

I can't imagine you do look like Amy Winehouse CIC, that would be most worrying. I feel sorry for her. She looks in need of that spare lasagne BBbbeee if you could drop it round there?

daisy99divine · 20/10/2008 12:28

Lol at AmyCharlee - I am sure you don't look like her, it takes effort to be THAT bad

Osba, you sound to me like you need a big hug sorry you missed the pigs

at pasture bedtime!

fumf - home made apple crumble counts for a great deal in my book!

BTW I saw (when I had to plough through 5 years of MN competitions threads to find my ghastly prize) that you won a child tester at Hamleys fumf - did you take the soon to be birthday boy? was it fun?

Osba I would casserole the partridges on a bed of apples, maybe some cider on top, keep the little critters nice and moist. Maybe cranberries. I have a very hearty Game Cookbook, I could look up for you tonight after work if you like??

daisy99divine · 20/10/2008 12:28

No mention of F&V for a reason

TooTicky · 20/10/2008 12:52

OB, put the partridges in a field and let them run around. They are in a fridge and you are cold? [hardcorevegan]
Yes, will FB postcode.

SB, I have issuies with shellac largely for the sake of the beetles

Apple crumble definitely counts.

My ds2 will be 7 on Friday.

Is your ds2 having a party Fumf?
