For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

tell me more about the pig thing TooT. Weather looks ok tomorrow.

Going to bed now, but will be up v early no doubt.

OsmosisBOOnana · 18/10/2008 22:28

I've got a terrible crush on Cheryl Cole. Actualy, all of Girls Aloud.

I'm not even slightly

TooTicky · 18/10/2008 22:32

OB, King Bladud's Pigs
Don't click on the bit about the farewell event though because what they don't tell you is that it is an Adobe Acro-crap thingy that makes the computer grind to a halt.

All I know is, 10.00-5.00, entry £2 for adults, under 5s free. Last chance to see all 100+ pigs together before they are auctioned. Have you seen any? They are gorgeous. I wish I could design one.
And it's the big park on the left as you go into Bath. If you get the bus, the X39 stops right by the park.

TooTicky · 18/10/2008 22:33

Ooh, are you still there??

TooTicky · 18/10/2008 22:35

I made an apple pie today with pastry leaves and apples on the top [domestic glow]

daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 00:23

Hello - I seem to be here after all you veggers have gone to bed

Osba sorry you're having a tough time, our lives sound strangely parallel - our DCs are about same age and my DH has been away for 4 weeks so my fourth weekend in a row with no respite is half done! DS and I go out and lurk in woods mostly (that sounds dodgy, perhaps it is )

I am here because I am about to start work

Lol at Pink&Blue and cultural take away

Guad, come back, what do you mean I won a competition?

I think Mou's arms have gone wobbly too hence no MN today I am at lake district

hello to all others too. Nothing productive in my house like in Toots

But happy day, cos I like being happy

daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 00:24

Ah, no mention of veg

Well,
satsuma
salad (paltry few in chicken sandwich)
mushroom
broccoli
potato (does that count)

and swim yesterday

daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 00:25

Bit at shellac on butternut squash Slur - am I being a bit dense? I thought they had hard and shiny skins...?

perhaps I am missing something

OsmosisBOOnana · 19/10/2008 08:00

Oh, those pigs! They're all along the cycle track and around Bath.

I know where Vic Park is, if I take enough pain killers between now and 12 and can actually reverse my car I may leave the house today!

What was a crick in the neck seems to be getting more sinister by the hour.

I have the back of a 60 year old gymnast. Duff.

TooTicky · 19/10/2008 08:28

May see you later then OB
Will you be wearing bright orange?
We will be traceable by our unhealthy-sounding coughs.

Daisy, if you pop in just a little earlier you may catch me I lurked hopefully for a lonely hour after my last post.

Dd2 has been taking photos of her "lovely lovely feet".

Apple pie for breakfast.

TooTicky · 19/10/2008 08:29

OB, I think cricks'n'things are worse for stress. Chill.

OsmosisBOOnana · 19/10/2008 08:35

a good point.

CharleeInChains · 19/10/2008 13:26

Afternoon you fruity mo-fo's.

I had another WaterMelon fest for brekkie this morn.

For Lunch i had a small baked potatoe with cottage cheese and salad and beetroot. Twas v.nice.

Dinner is chilli and Rice but i will pack the chilli with veg. (to hide them from dp)

I have also had a pear.

Will get back on Wii Fit this evening i have unlocked 'free' step aerobics so i can do it and switch the tv over and watch something good while my Wii remote guides me!

Have also been doing 10 sits up's a night (not alot i know but i am mega unfit!) when dp is in bed sp he can't laugh at my 'strained' face.

OsmosisBOOnana · 19/10/2008 13:40

banana
cabbage
onion

oh dear, a lot of work to do there.

BBBee · 19/10/2008 14:32

hullo

we went to the cinema to see the fox adn the child - it was rather lovely. I thought ds might complain as it lacked pace but he enjoyed it too.

Now, I made vegetable lasagne last night and I made double quantities and my plan is to give the other one to this woman I know who had a baby three weeks ago. But now I feel a bit wierd about it. Do you think it is a bit weird?

CharleeInChains · 19/10/2008 15:51

BBBee - I don't think it's woerd if you know her and are mates with her, i would have loved someone to make me delicious home cooked meals after i had my 2 boys. It#s a very kind thing to do.

pinkandbluespottywellies · 19/10/2008 16:59

No BBB it's lovely! I'm sure she'll appreciate it.

Was planning to make lentil and carrot soup for dinner but have been ebay listing all afternoon and haven't done it yet. Although dd has just had a (very rare) sleep so dinner can probably be quite late!

Beans, mushrooms, tomato (spot the fry up) apple, apple juice.

OsmosisBOOnana · 19/10/2008 17:26

I wouldn't think it was weird Bbbeee, i wish someone had brought me food! I still wish someone would bring me food!

FrayedKnot · 19/10/2008 17:57

I would never turn down the offer of a homecooked meal....

New baby or not

Definitely a good idea, BBBee.

I've done my big stint at the gym and really fancied a fry up afterwards but DS didn;t want to eat breakfast for lunch so I had a salad wiuth houummous and rye and pumpkin seed crackers. Good old DS...I have trained him well

Been to the Apple Festival today. It reminded me that I went last year just after I had joined 10/10. Kind of felt significant and celebratory....

Of adopting a healthier lifestyle and making new friends

S1ur · 19/10/2008 19:51

Hello hello

I am impressed with such active fruiters, mega gym sounds very impressive FK, and Charlee - I think 10 sit ups sound good, especially since it is everyday!

I think I want a wii. I am always slightly disturbed by sentences about wiis, 'I love my wii' 'my wii is great' - these so very wrong and odd. [old duffer emoticon]

Bbee - def on the meal, a lovely and not weird thing to do.

grapes
salad panini (maybe 1 if I'm lucky)
big roast - roasted peppers and carrots and shallots. - a few there.

so maybe 5 if I am feeling generous. buggerit.

hammouhouseofhorror · 19/10/2008 20:02

at wobbly arms Daisy! Took Ds out on bike today as I had promised (we did about 13 miles). I got back, we ate and then I was going out on my own on bike at my pace. I got back and DD had a hissy fit that I HAD to take her jogging as I had taken Ds out and that meant I loved him more......so out jogging, skipping, hopping, pretending to be a fire engine for ana hour. So now I am completely shattered.

Good F and V though, 2x Apple, pear, banana, onions, peppers, apple juice, tomato juice,

Yopu've all been so busy it is hard to catch up.

Slightly manic is a normal state for me Toot, I don't know where the children get their hyperactive tendencies from.. (whistling nonchalantly)

So sorry you are having a tough time Osba, but you are right, Cheryl Cole is lovely, she looks really genuine, and seems to have a rare dignity. Wouldn't know the rest of girls aloud if I fell over them though.

10 Sit ups is a great start charlee...from little acorns....stick at it. And now i want watermelon. mmmm drooling.
And Apple pie Toot,.... I'm moving in next door.

BBB, gift of meal is a great idea. I do it occassionally with soup..no-one ever complains. Have had them in return also. It is very thoughtful.

Computer has been 'virussed' so if I do disappear, that is why. It keeps shouting at me. Stupid computer.

Night all, (yawns and feels pull of sofa and furry throw)

daisy99divine · 19/10/2008 22:24

Hello veggers

TooTicky · 19/10/2008 22:24

Pretending to be a fire engine? Now that is devotion!

It seems kinda quiet in here this evening.

OB, did you lose yourself among the pigs or did you not make it?
