For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

CollaredDove, I am sorry to butt in, but I am in exactly the same situation as you. I have posted about it under this name. I think my OP knows and cares about me but he is also married. I understand and completely sympathise.
I am trying to focus on other things but see so much of him due to life circumstances it is hard, I never thought I would be in this position.
If you want a shoulder to cry on leave me a thread anytime.......
Sorry to 10/10 ers but wanted to offer my sympathy. I am also a regular on here.

daisy99divine · 15/10/2008 15:00

Oh Osba, she is clearly a DD of little taste
perhaps she is not REALLY your DD - your DD was spirited away while asleep and another, non soup liking DD was put back in her place

poor lostatsea and CD I hope you can comfort each other....

OsmosisBOOnana · 15/10/2008 15:04

oh no! Ill befalls the 10/10 yurt.

OsmosisBOOnana · 15/10/2008 15:05

no it's def DD, she just kicked me in the face - her new favourite game when nappy changing. Am going to start potty training asap.

CollaredDove · 15/10/2008 15:38

Thanks all. I think it just has to be limbo for a few more years.
lostatsea, sorry you are going through this too. Would love to talk but really can't do this often, too risky.
Are you a 10/10er too? [intrigued]
I just have to get used to bottling it all in. I bottle most things but this is bigger than my standard bottle.

OsmosisBOOnana · 15/10/2008 16:03
Sad
FrayedKnot · 15/10/2008 16:31

Hello everyone

CD sorry to hear you are having a difficult time . Is the other person available, or not?
Bero, please don;t leave! I hardly ever venture out of here. 10/10 is one of my little routine stops of the day, like my e-mails and FB.

DS is doing the washing up. I can hear lots of swishing and clunking

I am pretending I don;t know the floor is probably knee deep in water.

I think he may subconciously be making up for the fact that he kept me awake for 3 hours last night

He seems happeir today. Apparently he played a game called TicklerBum with a new friend called Jessica.

The mind boggles

SuperBunny · 15/10/2008 18:38

Oh collareddove Do you think it could be a grass is greener type situation?

I've been feeling a bit disillusioned with MN recently, hence my break from 10/10. My usual tactic is to retreat and stay on this thread and my other regular one but recently I have taken to posting on threads I don't care about and avoiding here.

lostatsea · 15/10/2008 20:32

Yes CD, I am a 10/10er. And like you I am stuck in limbo. Complicated but I have beeen in this situation for 18 mnths, slowly getting worse and worse. Try to be really positive about other aspects of my life and make life good for Dc's. Post about it occasionally when I can't bear it.....Anyway. I'm sorry to the good people on this thread. It is so uplifting to come on this here and do not intend to turn it sour (apologetic emoticon). Hang in there CollaredDove and I'll let you know if I see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Ticklerbum sounds like fun FK...

berolina · 15/10/2008 20:51

Evening

I am here for now. Not enugh resolve to up and go. But am feeling rather discouraged about MN (not our lovely yurt).

Have just come back from a 1.5h strenuous gymnastics/yoga-type class It is run by an academic friend/mentor of mine just for fun - her and about 10-12 other friends/colleagues/students. I went years ago when I lived here before and I am starting again now. She can do amazing things and I am so horribly unsupple But I really enjoyed the concentration and exertion.

Wish ds2 would go to sleep - need a shower.

OsmosisBOOnana · 15/10/2008 20:53

night all, sweet dreams.

BBBee · 15/10/2008 20:57

hello

oh dear - sorry to hear about tricky situations with anon 10/10ers.

I am all busy in a job that is strange - sometimes in a fun way and sometimes in a head fuck way!

my 10/10 intake is also appaling so I shouldn't really be here either.

i fell asleep on the setee last night and my back hurts adn I have no painkillers and am off alcohol. Any sugestions??

love

bbee

TooTicky · 15/10/2008 21:16

Oh no Bee, just make sure you sleep comfortably tonight.

TooTicky · 15/10/2008 21:18

Bero, that class sounds brilliant. I'd love to go to something like that, especially run by a friend.

TooTicky · 15/10/2008 21:23

CD and lostatsea, do you do hugs?
{{{{{{{hug}}}}}} {{{{{{hug}}}}}}
Don't know what to say

TooTicky · 15/10/2008 21:25

FK, glad today was better. Ticklerbum most intriguing!

TooTicky · 15/10/2008 21:27

OB, your soup sounds wonderful except for the parsnips. I have never fully come to term with parsnips.

berolina · 15/10/2008 21:28

CD/lostatsea: I am so sorry not to have said anything useful or even sympathetic about your posts. I thought and couldn't think of anything useful to say and then didn't post, and just now in the shower I realised how rather crap that was to just have wittered about my nice evening. I am sorry

2 apples, banana, tomato and basil in sesame seed roll, fruit cake, cucumber, melon, peach juice. quite probably 7. Oh well, have overfulfilled my exercise today.

TooTicky · 15/10/2008 21:30

Hello Bero

at peach juice!!

pinkandbluespottywellies · 15/10/2008 21:32

collared and lost Don't know what to say.

Tired. Had friend for tea at short notice (thanks dh!) but was lovely and about 4 portions of f&v including apple crumble. Also other portions through day but can't think.

Going to bed. Much love and strength to sad people.

TooTicky · 15/10/2008 21:36

Had friend for tea? Now I know pregnancy makes you hungry Pinkandblue, but that is taking things too far!

Oh, I ate a whole butternut squash, roasted with garlic. Yum. And some apple cake.

lostatsea · 15/10/2008 21:51

Thanks for hugs and support, it helps, will return as a cheery 10/10er soon.
Don't be sorry to talk about your good day Bero, it is good to hear.
Night all.

pinkandbluespottywellies · 15/10/2008 22:30

TooT Roasted squash, yummy.

TooTicky · 16/10/2008 08:40

Pinkandblue, you were supposed to be going to bed [stern]

Was odd actually, I buy organic as much as possible but this squash was non-organic and it was noticeably wet inside when I cut it, and shrank a lot during cooking. I also think that I wouldn't have been able to eat a whole organic one. Any thoughts anyone?

Also, do squashes have to be harvested before first frost? The plants are starting to shrink and go brown. We have some dinky yellow ones which I am leaving as long as I can but I don't want to lose them.

daisy99divine · 16/10/2008 11:03

Morning!

I seem to miss the evening posting session - spent indecent amount of time upended over cot trying to get DS to sleep while friends had dinner downstairs!!

I guess I should have just played a quick game of Ticklerbum glad DS is a bit happier FK

Quick note to Pink&Blue - all my guests got out alive

see you later
