For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

I can't crochet but can knit scarves only incredibly complex items.

ello Slur.

SuperBunny · 14/10/2008 19:21

I have to go out and babysit 2 under 3s this afternoon, with DS for 4 hours. The 1 yr old cries the entire time and I want to stay at home and make bsicuits and play with DS's playmobil.

SuperBunny · 14/10/2008 19:24

I can do scarfs, blankets (i.e. big scarfs), baby booties (v small) and hats. I am getting better slowly

is the plural of scarf scarves? The plural of roof is not rooves. Hmmm.

littlerach · 14/10/2008 19:26

Crochet is impossible.

I have tried a gazillion times and cannot do it.

I can only knit Incredibly Complex Items too, OB.

OB, I owre your skirt the other day, tis very nice and I felt most grown up.

NotBigNotClever · 14/10/2008 19:34

Hellooo. Have been eating lots of f&v but not getting anywhere close to 10, except possibly on really good salad days. Today: kiwi, tomato, cucumber, sweetcorn, peas. Feeling v. grumbly as have had not enough sleep and too much of everything like work and stressy stuff. Grumble, grumble...

pinkandbluespottywellies · 14/10/2008 20:01

Of course you'll horrify them OsBOO! And you're going to TooT's toddler group TF come and meet up with me. We're not very far apart!

I've been at work so my brain is melting now. I'm working with a manipulative horror lovely boy. It takes all my concentration to keep on track with the work [exhausted]

I had an avocado and tomato sandwich for lunch and I made roasted butternut squash soup for tea. Would you like the recipe? It was very nice.

I can't do anything creative (cards/crochet/knitting etc) I'm rubbish. But I can iron and that's what I have to do tonight

OsmosisBOOnana · 14/10/2008 20:34

P&B!

You've changed your name!

What do you do? workwise?

pinkandbluespottywellies · 14/10/2008 20:55

I work for the Youth Offending Service but just as a sessional worker, so I don't have any case holding responsibility but I do anything from anger management or victim awareness work to taxi driving(!) collecting young people from prison or taking to training. It's great cos I only work when I want to and it's pretty good pay!

OsmosisBOOnana · 14/10/2008 21:45

Blimey. Must be quite.... challenging.... You must be a very patient person.

pinkandbluespottywellies · 14/10/2008 21:57

Dunno. How patient is "don't you DARE speak to me like that"? This particular one is very challenging but some of them are lovely!

So no-one wants my recipe? I might post it anyway.

Halve butternut squash and roast in low oven for about an hour. Dice an onion, a large potato and half a cooking apple, fry with a few chilli flakes (only a pinch). Add veg stock and bubble for 20 mins or so. Scoop out butternut squash flesh and add to soup. Blend. Servewithdoublecream Yum

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 21:58

BOO!

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 21:59

Pink, I will eat your soup. Without the cream. I have a thing for roasted squash atm.

OB, you still there? I will do FB now, let me know if you get it.

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 22:05

OB I HAVE SENT YOU A MESSAGE ON FB GO AND READ IT AND REPLY OR I SHALL JUST HAVE TO SEND YOU LOTS OF WITTERY ONES WITH ALTERNATIVE DIRECTIONS TO COVER ALL EVENTUALITIES

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 22:11

SB, I couldn't see the picture, it wanted me to log in. I am rather crochet mad atm.

Boco · 14/10/2008 22:11

Hello Toot how is your bladder?

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 22:13

BOCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought everybody had gone away!

Bladder fine thanks - I mean, the odd pain has gone.

How was your evening?

Boco · 14/10/2008 22:15

Glad the pain has gone. What about all the drinking and weeing? Did you ever make it to the GP?

How was what evening? Do you mean the private view thing for the RCA? That's not until Nov 14th and not sure I can go anyway. Nevermind.

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 22:17

Isn't it? I thought it was about three days ago for some reason.

GP? What GP? [vague]

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 22:17

Things aren't as intense as they were so I'm assuming it is all okay.

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 22:18

Sorry if you can't go to the RCA thing.
Can I mention driving in a kindly, inquisitive way?

Boco · 14/10/2008 22:19

No that might have been the deadline for finishing the pictures though? DD2 kind of trashed one by adding to it when i was out of the room. I patched it up. I can show you when they go on tinternet.

You're a reckless sort with your gp avoidance. I hope your bladder stays on.

Boco · 14/10/2008 22:20

driving - have a lesson tomorrow, so feel suitably queasy as always - and my test in a couple of weeks

I really can't imagine how it'll be remotely possible to pass. Unless the test was driving around here - I can do that well now, I even like it - but as soon as I get into the city I have a sweat fit and do stupid things.

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 22:21

If it fell off I would probably notice.

Look forward to seeing your pictures. Well done for the patching. Did it make you furious? One reason I have virtually given up anything arty/writey is that it makes me so cross if anybody interferes or interrupts.

Boco · 14/10/2008 22:24

Yes I was furious, she was sent to her room. She also used my paints to paint a picture onto the television.

Don't give up, just make sure you are always armed and high up.

TooTicky · 14/10/2008 22:25

The best test advice I was given was no matter what happens, stay calm and carry on as if everything is fine. Because it might actuially be fine. Apparently some people mentally give up after one problem when they might acually have passed iyswim. I stalled 3 times at one junction and did the most cautious reverse-around-corner in the world - the examiner actually said, "You do need to go a little further back than that," after I stopped with the nose of the car barely off the curve. But because everthing else I did was good, I passed.
