For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Hello pink

we haven't met yet, but I was RIGHT in my prediction!

Fab its a boy. I have a DS (sorry, don't know if you have others?) but boys totally fab!!!

TooTicky · 09/10/2008 21:58

Exciting stuff Oink!!

daisy99divine · 09/10/2008 21:58

By the way, 'cos I'm assuming you veggers are like me, did you know Officer and a Gentleman is on tele? I am having a bit of a Gere-swoon

TooTicky · 09/10/2008 21:59

Pink not Oink!!

TooTicky · 09/10/2008 22:00

There might be one. I haven't seen it. I don't really watch anything [wholesome]

daisy99divine · 09/10/2008 22:00

LOL at Oink, but not very veggers

womblingalong · 09/10/2008 22:00

Guad is so right Pink, they are dotty about their mums. For DS only mum will do, he tries to climb out of the bath to get to me when I go in the bathroom, and would not settle this evening until he had a special cuddle from me. I just love boys 'otherness' IYKWIM.

BBBee · 09/10/2008 22:01

yes pink i can see you with a boy - you will be wicked together!

daisy99divine · 09/10/2008 22:02

I think I might have spotted a tele in the corner (where as a newbie I lurk) it appears to be just near the pit, and the whips and the marsbars

FrayedKnot · 09/10/2008 22:02

again!

daisy99divine · 09/10/2008 22:04

lovely boy moment . i think they are specially soft and nuzzleable (spel?)
my DS always wants me to get in the bath with him (don't panic, he's 2) and he asks with a special and very winning "please"
TMI perhaps?

TooTicky · 09/10/2008 22:06

My ds1 (9) still likes to share a bath
All my children are totally uninhibited.

daisy99divine · 09/10/2008 22:08

Yeah, well I could say prancing around nekkid is a bit of a family trait. But I hardly know you, so I won't

on the other hand FMF said being nekkid was a requirement to be a proper fruity bitch...

TooTicky · 09/10/2008 22:20

Hmm, I don't personally do nekkid but my dcs do, most jubilantly.

berolina · 09/10/2008 22:30

oh a boy!!!! How absolutely utterly lovely

daisy99divine · 09/10/2008 22:30

Well, I don't prance so much as creep and lurk, but my DS loves nothing more than to do his version of cantering with his arms in the air ... and nothing on.

And he stood at the window waving at the digger men digging up our street - totally butt naked

they gamely waved back

I was fully clothed throughout

berolina · 09/10/2008 22:31

(hello TooT I will email you )

hammouhouseofhorror · 10/10/2008 02:32

Have a DS and a DD,
My children are like the sea, my DS is the sea in a storm, exhilerating and a bit frightening, puts you in awe of the power of nature. My DD is the sea on a calm day, when you can look to the horizon and see the curve of the earth, and your heart is at peace with the world...

I love being nekkid but Ds, now 10, hates to see me unclothed and goes absolutely ballistic if my tummy shows in public... and at 39 I so wanted to start wearing crop tops again.

Bad day food wise, seemed to eat cake all day. Have a headache now so I guess it wasn't a good idea. Have also woken with a raging sore throat and painfully blocked sinuses, might not be an early worm tomorrow.

Lol at Ds and diggermen daisy.

I suppose I should get back to bed,
see y'all.

fullmoonfiend · 10/10/2008 08:19

Belated ''Yay!! Boys rock!!'' to Pink I have 2 so I am allowed to say that.

we are all natural-born-naturists (round the house only) in this house too (or tree-huggin hippy freaks as my friends says).

Erm, yesterday, veg soup, banana, orange juice, red cabbage, apple, carrots. 7 or 8?

Mou = I love your halloween name, very droll I am always very admiring of a good (or bad) pun/play on words.

My first seasonal name change FMF, thanks.

Today is going to be a good day,
a/ I got through to the doctors and b/ I got an appointment with the doctor of my choice at the time I wanted...yippee!

My DS is my no1 fan, he regularly tells me a I am beautiful and the coolest mummy around....says things like 'mum..you rock!' aaahhhhhh.

Going to be a really really good girl today .

fullmoonfiend · 10/10/2008 08:35

my boys say scary things like they always want to live with mum...

Guad, any news on the house?

Guadalupe · 10/10/2008 08:52

ah, it's mou, I didn't get it. I am crap at non verbal resoning too.

Mou - my dd and ds are quite the opposite.

I am finding it hard to eat fruit atm. I don't know why.

Guadalupe · 10/10/2008 08:53

Well, the website has finally been changed to say sold subject to contract but no sigh is up. My nerves are jangley.

Guadalupe · 10/10/2008 08:54

sign I mean

God look at the time, we are late for school everyday

pinkspottywellies · 10/10/2008 09:26

Thanks everyone! I'm very excited and also a bit scared and have just realised that one day I will (well, maybe) be a mother-in-law to a DIL. Daisy I have a nearly 2 year old dd so was kind of hoping to try the other flavour! Mou, you just brought a tear to my eye with your description of your two

Had pear and half a (large) banana so far, and have some dried fruit out ready to eat.

Going to make my green tom chutney this afternoon [scared] and might do roasted squash soup for dinner.
