Kewcumber's Been In Hospital - her blood isn't Clotting

You may have missed Kewcumber around mumsnet for the past week, she has, sadly, been in hospital. They are trying to increase her platelets but it has been a long process. She is keeping her spirits up but missing her ds immensely although her dm has been bringing him to see her every day. For any of you that would like to see the side-effects of blood not clotting I've posted a couple of pictures of Kewcumbers arms on my profile (don't look at if you have a needle phobia!).

She is having the best treatment possible and is hoping that the double dose of everything (trust Kew!) that she is being given at the moment will ensure that she is home (and mumsneting!) very soon.

I'm sure she'll be updating you with all the gory details once she is online.

i thought she was uncharacteristically quiet on the adoption threads but assumed she was off sunning herself somewhere

how is little D coping? its so very hard for a child of that age to understand whats going on

OracleInaCoracle · 19/09/2008 20:04

Get well soon, Kew xx

susiecutiebananas · 19/09/2008 20:31

Kristina-Little man is staying with Kew Mum. He's been in to see her every day. I don't know much more i'm afraid. Other than they are missing each other terribly, of course. I should think his granny is making a huge huge fuss of him though - and who wouldn't such a gorgeous, lovely little man

I'm sure one of the girls who've managed to get into see her will let you know more.

ByTheSea · 19/09/2008 20:32

All my best wishes for a quick recovery Kewcumber.

ComeOVeneer · 19/09/2008 20:33

Pleased to hear things are starting to improve. Hope both QC and D are coping. My offer still stands to srock the fridge/freezer if needed!

Janni · 19/09/2008 20:34

So sorry to hear this. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

WendyWeber · 19/09/2008 20:38

Oh I am sorry to hear this, Kewc - hope they get it fixed asap.

MrsRecycle · 19/09/2008 21:59

Kristina. Ds is coping well although he would much rather be home with his mummy. Hopefully come Monday this will be the case.

That's a bit of a dramatic way to get some peace and quiet Kew!!!!

Really hope you're starting to feel a bit better.

Any news on when you'll be home?

Slouchy · 20/09/2008 07:22

Oh poor old Kew! Hope she is feeling better and that little ds is doing ok.

Kewcumber · 20/09/2008 22:45

Thanks for sympathy - am home now (and very gald too).

What a bizarre surreal week!

Haven't been able t rpise DS off me (not me from him to be honest ) and he says every other sentance "mummy better now?" in a hopeful way.

it never gets boring saying "yes mummys all better now" slight exaggeration but close enough for all practical purposes...

CarGirl · 20/09/2008 22:51

WElcome back!

Janni · 20/09/2008 22:52

Hope you're OK and not too traumatised!

What's the follow-up? Did this come out of the blue or is it an 'old' problem?

Where were you in hospital and did they treat you well?

ranting · 20/09/2008 22:56

Poor Kew, glad you're out, get some rest and hurry back quickly.

MrsWeasley · 20/09/2008 22:56

WELCOME HOME KEWCUMBER
