For anyone who wants a boost to their general health (and to talk bobbins with a load of fruity nutters). The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello all

TooT, happy belated (having already said happy be-earlied)

MamaG, I've always pictured you as blonde, sort of honey blonde.

Boco, at postcard thing

Sending energy to FK. I am very tired myself but not right now. I am in panic-about-so-much-to-do mode but breaking my self-imposed MN fast anyway

pear, plum, apple, grapes, a v unripe nectarine, er... raisin and banana flapjack... I really don't seem to eat much these days, not just F+V. dh went to his ex-supervisor's returement do today and brought home horrid delicious German sausage for ds1's supper, so I didn't cook the cauliflower I'd been planning with chickpeas and coriander.

TooTicky · 30/09/2008 22:04

Hello Bero Must email....

TigerFeet, get well soon!!

LittleRach, at least she likes it while she's there...good luck!!

FK, am sending you cocoa vibes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Boco - WOW! - that sounds fabulous

So, if you get a pain at the back, sort of just in from the soft bit between rib and hip, is that kidney? [increasingly anxious paranoid]

Oh, we have a date for ds2's op - 12th Nov.

TooTicky · 30/09/2008 22:04

I mean, it's probably just backache, yes?

FrayedKnot · 30/09/2008 22:14

Hmm..TooT is it both sides or just one?

SuperBunny · 30/09/2008 22:24

Toot, I get that sort of aching when I am really run down, seriously sleep-deprived (insomnia) or otherwise unwell and I always worry that it will progress and become a kidney infection. It always goes away after a while. When I did have a kidney infection, it was horrible.

Does it hurt to touch? Or just ache?

I have the back thing over the weekend & a fever. Am fine now.

Hope it feels better soon

Boco · 30/09/2008 22:27

What's been going on then Toot? It does sound like kidney. I've had several nasty kidney infections - always starting with cystitis, and you have been complaining of wee problems haven't you?

If it is a kidney infection you usually feel pretty ropey with it, very tired, temperature, generally rubbish. It's really important to go to the dr. Are you terribly anti antibiotics? Because in my experience you need them and last time rather a lot of them too. Is worth it though, honestly it hurts. I hope it's not that but go to gp - is simple urine test. Hope you're feeling better very soon. Drink lots of water, sleep.

TooTicky · 30/09/2008 23:03

Oh really? It could be just an infection? I was thinking it cxould be something dreadfully long term. I am trying to work out just how much I drink. I usually have about 500ml at atime (big cup!), and many many times a day.
Hurts more on the right than the left, don't think touching it makes a lot of difference. It's not a constant pain, it comes and goes but seems to be doing less going of late.,
Weeing lots, understandable given how much I'm drinking, but this raging thirst!!
I'm not keen on ABs, should go to homeopath, but haven't sent in ds2's much overdue notes.....

Anyway, must go to bed, am not getting enough sleep atm.

Night all xxxxxxxxxx

S1ur · 01/10/2008 09:40

Hello Fruity Bitches.

I wanted to drop in to say I might not be about for a bit. No f&v to report not really eaten anything in last week anyway.

Its been a very strange weekend.

Lots of good eating vibes to you all.

fullmoonfiend · 01/10/2008 10:56

strange bad? or strange ok?
U ok lovely Slur?

Boco · 01/10/2008 11:17

Slur that's too mysterious! Hope everything is ok.

Toot you really should go to the doctor now. Even if you decide to use homeopathy, I think you should talk to your GP to find out what's wrong. Hope you feel better.

Just had a driving lesson - it was good!

fullmoonfiend · 01/10/2008 11:45

how did last night go Boco?

Boco · 01/10/2008 12:05

What happened last night?

Tatties · 01/10/2008 14:38

Hello all!

TooT please go to the doctor

FMF I might have a dress for you

fullmoonfiend · 01/10/2008 16:24

Hello beautiufl tatties - I've missed you!

Boco, sorry, thought the postcard thingy was last night. Small addled brain.

TooT - I'll join in the nagging circle - go to Docs. Please!

Pear, pineapple, 3-bean chilli.

Tatties · 01/10/2008 17:02

I will try to sort out a pic of dress - it is teal/green, long sleeves, buttons right down front. I really like it but haven't worn it for ages for some reason so thought it deserved a new home...

pinkspottywellies · 01/10/2008 19:02

Banana, oj, DH is making sounds about having chips for dinner Hadn't even crossed my mind So not a good day!

zippitippitoes · 01/10/2008 19:03

hello hope you are all well

i have not done very well lately

but i have another interview next week

FrayedKnot · 01/10/2008 19:51

Evening

TooT I would definitely try to get some idea of what is going on from your GP. Even if you decide not to pursue, you need to know what you are dealing with. Constant thirst is also a symptom of diabetes, which I'm sure is highly unlikely, and you'd have other symptoms I'm sure, but I think it would be wise.

Boco have you done the life coaching thing yet?

Tatties how are you? have you moved?

Zippi have you heard about the otehr one yet? I think you said it might be a while? And is next week's for something interesting?

I am just toying with applying for another job with same company which is much more suited to my background & skills, and would be better paid (possibly quite a lot better)...need to convince them I can do wonderful things in 20 hrs aweek though.

Boco · 01/10/2008 20:29

Job sounds exciting Frayed - can you tell us roughly what you do or is it all secret?

Yes have had the first life coaching session last week - I have goals and targets and homework. I've not done it but I've cleaned out a lot of cupboards. It may be avoidance but at least it's good useful avoidance rather than the other kind involving tetris or mumsnet games and reading huge threads about other threads about other threads. So, it's working! You should see my utility room - you can actually see the floor.

FrayedKnot · 01/10/2008 20:49

Not really secret Boco but not v. exciting either...

It would be a move back into a marketing role which is my background, rather than just basic admin which is what I do now.

I can;t find a copy of my CV though which is hampering progress tonight.

Clean cupbaords sounds like some sort of result

What sort of thing do you have to do for homework

Boco · 01/10/2008 22:27

Drawing really - preparing roughs for some finished work I was supposed to have done back in July but got stuck on and haven't really done any work since. I keep deciding to give up because I can't think of what to draw. So I want to give it a last chance before looking into real jobs - but can only do it if i actually get on with it instead of being stuck and reading troll threads on mumsnet.

pinkspottywellies · 01/10/2008 22:37

You have a utility room?

I had mushy peas. Grand total 3 (unless I can count a Dairy Milk caramel.) Is Moony going to shout at me? Is she still doing mean boot camp shouty stuff [scared]

I have to go to bed now as I have to be up early to make cake

Boco · 01/10/2008 23:07

Well, more of a heh, futility room, ha ha. Yes. Yes I do.
