Hi everyone n good luck in giving up the weed. Just wanted to tell you my experience... just less than a year ago, my dad had to go in for chemo and I promised him that as he would no doubt keep his chin up during treatment, I would pack in smoking (which he always hated me doing) to "keep him company" as it were.
I started reading a book called "The easy way to give up smoking" by Allen Carr. Its a "planned" read as Allen encourages you to smoke during the read... a week before my dad went into hospital, I found out I was pregnant. I admit that I did not "increase reading speed" but a week later, the day my dad was admitted to hospital I had my last ever cigarette.
Don't believe me when I say it was my last ever? Read the book. If you want to stop, read the book. If you don't believe you can stop, read the book. If you are curious about why I stopped... read the book. Nothing I can tell you about this book would give it credit as it is truly a personal (and memorable) experience, but of all things you may want to try to pack in smoking try this first (the book costs slightly more than a packet of fags).
This seems like a obvious thing, but the thing that you are addicted to in cigarettes is nicotine. The lozenges and all the other anti smoking aids on the market give you....nicotine. This makes it difficult to give up using substitutes (and bless the lot of you that do - just proves your determination)
Oh, and you can guarantee that you will not feel lectured to reading the book. Good luck to you all.
