For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

BE what is the deal with this calin bleu gauze one? I bought it to be cool but there is so much fabric in it - I don't think it is any different
why is there so much of it?

plus please tell me how to breastfeed in a wrap without getting your entire breast out
I had a whole thread on this and the matter was never satisfactorily resolved

ooh oooooh ooh I have just spoken to my sister

She had an op this morning to remove an infected lymph gland fron her armpit

And has also had her GSCE results today

Can't remember exactly what she said but there was an A*, some A's, B's and C's

Well done that sprog

BabiesEverywhere · 21/08/2008 14:42

Mmm, the calin bleu gauze appears to be a 'one size' wrap, but at 4.6 metres that is on the long side. What carries are you doing ?

I have a couple of woven wraps Didymos and they start at 1.8 metres and the biggest ones are 5.2 metres, I am fat and prefer a 4.2 metre wrap.

If your wrap is too long I would just cut it up and rehem...as long as you are sure you can do the carries you want with the shorter size.

Breastfeeding in a sling is something I never got to grips with my DD as a baby. When she was older I found I could nurse her in a mei tai.

I managed to nurse DS yesterday whilst walking around a toy shop and he was in a fleece pouch sling.

Haven't yet tried to nurse this time in a wrap but should be trying it shortly. Suggest you search this sling site for hints.

I don't know if it was an accident, OB, I think it might just have been half the country descending on Cornwall/Devon on a Saturday and bottlenecking the M5.

I am just about to post my letter of complaint with photos and we receved our cheque for the damage bond back with no charge for breakages (loads). It is in a card advertising the cottage and there is a photo of the owner and now I feel a bit bad. I shouldn't, because it was crap, but I do.

BabiesEverywhere · 21/08/2008 14:43

Tigerfeet, Well done your sister....She is one bright girl

Is she going on to A levels ?

Guadalupe · 21/08/2008 14:44

I too have glo sticks from Lakeland!! The last two packets.

The van isn't back yet and I need to be loading it up. We are leaving at 7pm.

Guadalupe · 21/08/2008 15:01

FMV - Give me a kick up the arse would you. I am languishing here on the chair and I Am Not Ready.

OsmosisBanana · 21/08/2008 15:16

ah. hopefully early Fri pm won't be so bad??? Hopefully.....

Yeah right.

Am not coming into work tomoz am and am going to make BF pull a sicky. Balls to being company director. I want to go with DH tonight but think she might have a hissy fit.

fullmoonfiend · 21/08/2008 15:25

Dear Guad - I have reached a hiatus here...and I need to clean for house-sitting friend. I wish I was ging today. I hate waiting to go somewhere. And I get stomach-churningly over anxious about the whole ''how long will it take us to get in, will they accept our ID, will we get on the camping field we want etcetc)''
A chilled-out hippy, I am not.

Is too hard work dithering over clothes so I am going naked...

TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 15:28

She is going to do Media Studies (she got A* in that - she did a fabulous music video for her boyfriend's band), French, and... erm... something else [crap sister emoticon]

MrsC get up off your carroty arse and put everything in nice piles ready for the arrival of the van

at glow sticks and festies and associated goodness

How early OsBa? Likely to get snarled up by 3pm on a Bank Holiday weekend Friday imo

Guadalupe · 21/08/2008 15:31

ok, ok, I am up now!

fmv - what id? I hadn't thought of id, should I be worried? This house is a cavern of clothes. I make a pile and ds2 swooshes in and tumbles it down again saying 'crash'.

Tigerfeet - well done your sister.

OsmosisBanana · 21/08/2008 15:37

Forgot it was BHoliday. Titty.

TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 15:39

See. you need the services of a qualified motorway anorak.

Bet you're glad you asked now

Guadalupe · 21/08/2008 15:42

FMV - they don't mean you need two forms of ID for each child as well do they? Surely not.

OsmosisBanana · 21/08/2008 15:46

Right need quick honest answer.

DH going to festy tonight to bag good spot.

I was going to go with best friend tomorrow pm after lunchish but am now freaking out about long traffic ming with toddler in car. She doesn't know what time she will finish as has important job, not like me.

I already have her tent to set up for her, she has sat nav so won't get lost. I even have found the postcode of the supposed 'secret location' of the festival.

Will she be pissed off with me if I go tonight? Has she any right to be?

TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 15:52

How far do you have to travel OsBa?

ID for children would be daft imo. DD has a passport but it's a farce - the picture is of her as a baby and frankly could be any blue eyed fair child

TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 15:52

(Guad do you need to borrow a passport for a blue eyed fair child?)

OsmosisBanana · 21/08/2008 15:55

Well, 2 n a bit hours if the M5 isn't shiteous.

If I go tomorrow with DD though, it's guaranteed to take longer....

TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 15:57

Definitely go tonight. Your dd can sleep in the car rather than being wide awake and bored tomorrow afternoon. If I were your friend I would understand - but obv you know your friend better. Sell it to her with tales of wailing children, stinky nappies and motorway snarl ups for over three hours

OsmosisBanana · 21/08/2008 15:58

yy, she's not known for her love of sticky smelly babies in her leather seated newly valetted Merc

TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 15:59

I have just clocked that my dd's passport would be bugger all use to the carrot family, given that it has my dd's name on it

Guadalupe · 21/08/2008 16:01

go tonight, can't see on what possible grounds she could be annyoyed with toddler and traffic situation, if she is then best camp somewhere else anyway!

tf - it would be a farce, yes, they barely look like their passports either

Guadalupe · 21/08/2008 16:01

TF - You weren't actually serious, were you??
