For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh franny - can you be the cook and then ds2 can be the baby that you beat when it sneezes?

dp could be the pig ds turns into

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2008 15:31

Should my compost bin be crawling with woodlice? And flies? Or am I doing it wrong?

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2008 15:31

Hello, btw. Happy Sunday!

4 portions and some real fruit jelly sweets - do they count?

BBBee · 24/08/2008 15:33

oh pink.

i think we should boot camp her - don;t you?

BBBee · 24/08/2008 15:33
TooTicky · 24/08/2008 15:37

Shameful, the pair of you.

TooTicky · 24/08/2008 15:38

Our compost gets flies in the summer - I assume it's okay. And woodlice are a sign of good things generally, aren't they?

BBBee · 24/08/2008 15:41

um, yeah, that's all fine toot. water it and put a lid on it. boco's dp knows a lot about compost.

i am coverting your life a bit toot - the tidying and the fry up.

i am going to make a crumble this afternoon - apple and blackberry if i can be bothered to go and pick them

TooTicky · 24/08/2008 15:44

I thought you said converting at first Do you mean coveting or are you going to hide yourself in our house?

BBBee · 24/08/2008 15:46

yes - I am in your wardrobe on my lap top. it is hider in the house.

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2008 15:47

I read converting too!!

No don't boot camp me 4 so far is really good considering I've hardly been eating at all and I'm just doing roast dinner so I'll have loads more.

I've got over-grown spring onions in the garden - they're just onions now I think. Can I still use them? was thinking of roasting.

BBBee · 24/08/2008 15:48

yes - they will be nice. How are you? How is bump? How is appetite? How is exercise?

TooTicky · 24/08/2008 15:49

Be careful Bee, the shelves are not strong. One collapsed after ds2 hid on it and he is a skinny 6yo.

Pink - what was I going to say?

TooTicky · 24/08/2008 15:49

Oh yes, onions, fine.

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2008 15:59

Exercise is lax. Appetite is improving. I had a whole slice of toast and a third of a tin of beans for lunch Bump is coming on nicely.

I've just splashed roast potato oil in my face Wanted to cry - more shock than pain!

TooTicky · 24/08/2008 16:01

Ooh, ouch!!
But at roasties.

Perhaps if I call Bee downstairs she'd make some....

MamaG · 24/08/2008 16:04

bero I've done that occasionallyh too (the look-at-old-house thing), I always feel strange afterwards. DD is always fascinated "and I lived htere when I was a baby? wow"

I cried when we left hte flat we lived in when DD was born, and when we left the house we lived in when DS was born - all those memories of bringing home that tiny bundle of annoyance joy!

um

Do the fries I had in McDonalds today count as ANYTHING f&v-y? Thought not.

So, today, sum total isssssss - teh raisins in my bagel for breakfast

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2008 16:40

MamaG!! You need bootcamp!

(Sorry MamaG but it's not often someone's worse than me!)

We've got roast parsnips and onions too (not sure TooT would be so impressed with the roast chicken )

was walking down the road and suddenely thought dp should go as the queen of hearts / red queen - make a crown and stick him in a dress with lipstick and rosy cheeks. You can staple cards to the dress and he carries a plate of jam tarts.

oh it will be wonderful.

but, um, it is your dp i realise so i think you can out vote me.
