A revolutionary re-usable sanitary product, available in boots. Supposedly will put an end to our montly spending on sanitary wear!!

SammyK · 18/08/2008 20:28

search the archives, lots of useful mooncup threads. I too am a convert.

DustyTV · 18/08/2008 20:29

Yes... I was converted a few weeks ago and it is the 2nd time I am used it. Fab fab fab, love it, will never go back.

AbbaFan · 18/08/2008 20:29

The idea of a mooncup just fills me with horror.

Convince me they are ok.

Abbafan, I too was a bit at first, but I finaly relented and bought one a few weeks ago. Seriously they are wonderful. I just wish I knew about them before.

Bite the bullet, get one and try it

They have a money back guarantee don't they?
As if someone would send it back

GrinningGorilla · 18/08/2008 20:46

Well it looks like I will be off to get me a mooncup then. Anything has got to be better than clogging up landfills with tampons and towels, or paddling with the kids down the coast and dodging the towels. Yuk.

OP posts:
AbbaFan · 18/08/2008 20:53

Does it hurt though?

I find tampons a bit uncomfortable, so only use pads.

Podrick · 18/08/2008 20:57

I tried it. It freaked me out BIG TIME.

I would like to try again but am too scared still

SammyK · 18/08/2008 21:10

I find tampons uncomfy too but mooncup far more comfortable.

Podrick why were you freaked out?

Podrick · 18/08/2008 21:12

(a) the sight of all that blood and gore, half spilled onto the bathroom floor

(b) the nightmare of removal

(thanks for asking)

mamaberta · 18/08/2008 21:13

still struggling to erm, get to grips with mine . I find it hard to retrieve sometimes and one month it just hurt to have it in there. I've had it about 5 months. I am determined to stick with it (bl*y thing cost eighteen quid!!) and for the enviro reasons but I am not as wild about it as others [hmmm]

Habbibu · 18/08/2008 21:14

So much more comfortable than tampons - they don't sit in the same place. GG, I do love this thread - I imagine your OP in a 1950's public information broadcast voice!

Aefondkiss · 18/08/2008 21:21

it took me a long time to get used to my mooncup, a year tbh, and I now love it, but I found it uncomfortable to use to start with, kept snipping away at it, this year I love it, I am relaxed using it now, and really all other sanpro is horrible in comparison to the mooncup imo

SammyK · 18/08/2008 22:03

Sorry podrick

I have a strong stomach and am mildly fascinated with it all tbh.

OP if you do buy one just trim the stalk right off straight away and be done with it is my advice.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 18/08/2008 22:16

Mooncups are nothing like tampons. I could never get on with tampons. That awful dragging sensation, and the soreness of removing one when flow was light. Makes my teeth itch just thinking about it! It's an amazing thing. No having to worry about buying sanitary towels or tampons.

Brilliant. Highly recommend it.

Catilla · 18/08/2008 22:20

Does anyone have a problem with it slipping out when you walk for a while? Or is that just my rubbish pelvic floor? (I don't have any other related problems though).

Why is it I only think of pelvic floor exercises the day before my period?!
