For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

lighters in the air

Maybe DH has a point. Maybe I am actually 34. Seeing as I more or less missed the 80's both by geographical location and DOB.

I can see a new horizon, underneath a blazing sky.....

OsmosisBanana · 18/07/2008 20:35

FrannyandZooey · 18/07/2008 20:40

Pink sent me a sticker chart saying "I did good labour today" LOL
I have only just opened it, how did you KNOW Pink?

TooTicky · 18/07/2008 20:40

Heloo Franny

UnderRated · 18/07/2008 20:41

There are so many films that I haven't seen that I 'should' have, OB. Don't be surprised that I haven't seen anything. You'll be asking about Titanic next...

Broken sleep is horrid.

littlerach · 18/07/2008 20:41

Poor Franny.

But it's worth it, isn't it?

How is the babe?

TooTicky · 18/07/2008 20:42

UR, I have seen hardly any films compared to the average person but those John Hughes films are worth seeking out.

OsmosisBanana · 18/07/2008 20:43

Hats off to any person who has more than one child.

How is your, er, bottom Fran? Was fearful for you when you described the head width.

FrannyandZooey · 18/07/2008 20:46

have checked notes and head was 37 cm so there
I tore a bit and was stitched
hopefully will not turn into complete disaster area like last time

I don't know why but after it was all over the midwife said "now sorry about this but I just need to put my fingers up your bottom"

I said rather sternly "do you mean my actual BOTTOM or my VAGINA?"
I thought she was suffering from an attack of euphemisms
however sadly not, she did actually mean my bottom

UnderRated · 18/07/2008 20:57

OH goodness, why would she need to do that?

How is the LO? And how is DS1 coping?

I will look out for some kind of wonderful and watch it next week.

OsmosisBanana · 18/07/2008 20:57

Oh good lord. Why?? Maybe that's standard and I just didn't notice... Maybe she was checking your tears hadn't gone too far?

I had 2 x 2nd degree tears in diff directions. I don't know anything about your prev exp but mine got back to normal... at a reasonable speed.

I made a mistake thinking I could walk the dogs round the park 2 days afterwards having not bought a pram yet.

Reknowned for my common sense me.

I think you're very impressive Fran. Is stoic better?

Guadalupe · 18/07/2008 21:40

When I had 2nd degree tear with ds2, the community midwife said they should have sewn it up, the new rules are to take much more care of 2nd degrees because if left they can cause problems later. They didn't sew mine up, they ummed and aaahed and I said 'do you have to?' and they ok it will be fine. Don't know why.

Guadalupe · 18/07/2008 21:43

am slightly drunk after the school barbeque. Not sure if that's the done thing but the red was quite nice.

There was a band and stalls and bunting everywhere and I kept losing the children, well, older two, but then just before the end it poured with rain and everyone ran about laughing and it was like being in an episode of James Herriot or Heartbeat or something.

I had a vegi-burger. It was tolerable.

Tatties · 18/07/2008 21:46

She wasn't giving you painkillers was she Franny? When I was being stitched up (for 2nd degree tear) the midwife gave me a very good up-the-bum painkiller. I'd have thought she'd have told you though

They put a finger up your bottom to make sure they haven't stitched your vagina and your bottom together iirc!
