For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg herehere and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No TooT, it's called wine.

FrannyandZooey · 16/07/2008 19:15

oh salad for dinner
VEGETABLES - anyone rememeber those? anyone gone for a walk or anything?
bad bad veggers

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:16

Jump up and down. Stay vertical.
Did you see my link further down?

I love the word 'niggly' such an accurate description.

Go Franny Go Franny. Done in a NY Bronx homies style. With appropriate dance.

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:17

I have walked/run about 3 miles today.
Eaten lettuce and turnip.
Oh, and some melon.

was it the hippo one TooT? YES I SAW IT
I met some friends for cake and they didn't know if I had had the baby or not and they very cunningly came in gingerly looking around for a carry cot or something before they said "erm... you've NOT had it, then?"
and I thought 'this is the future - people looking at my stomach for the next 3 months and not being able to tell if I have had the baby or not"

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 19:19

whole punnet of strawberries 2
plum 1
that's it.

Mangetout n peppers coming up 3
will eat another plum 1
left over chilli beans 2

about 9 if I'm optimistic but probably actually 7.

I walked up St Michael's hill today. ANyone who knows will know that that is a bitch.

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:20

But the little hippo was very sweet

OB, I know that hill well.

now this vertical thing
I am not loving it
it's pretty uncomfortable tbh and I can imagine me tiring myself out by walking around all evening and then being knackered
I have got dp to bring a futon and a birth ball down, how about I do some leaning over the birth ball or something? would that be vertical enough for a while?

filthymindedvixen · 16/07/2008 19:21

ahem, I posted F&V intake earelier!

And done lotsof walking. Please come and tell mer even though I am a governor, teacxhers will not bitch about me because i haven't bought any end of term pressies for them, pleeeease!

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:22

Can you sit on the birth ball and bounce a bit?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 16/07/2008 19:23

FMF I did read the thread but I didn't know what to say
I thought UR would probably know best - and if you can't make anything, you can't make anything, and they will like a card with meaningful stuff written in

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:23

I have never bought a present for a teacher.

Ds1 once gave a present to a teacher - something he already had that he thought she'd like, all his own idea

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 16/07/2008 19:23

TooT yes I can. but what will that achieve? (except dp PHSL)

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:24

Seemed like a good idea. Vertical, comfy(ish) and fun

OP posts:
TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:25

Fmv, if they were to mind, that would be very petty of them.

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 16/07/2008 19:27

I wouldn't wear yourself out tbh, sit upright on the ball if you feel like it but don't pace round the house or anything.

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 19:27

Agree with TooT.

UnderRated · 16/07/2008 19:28

I posted again, FMF. I can't keep away from that thread now. Please don't worry about it.

FrannyandZooey · 16/07/2008 19:29

when I bounce do I have to leave the ground?

the midwife actually said keep on the move today
I am not very good at that
I am thinking if I walked around all day maybe it would be coming now
whereas sat on my arse it could take days - and I haven't GOT days

dp is cutting my nails
it's quite nice

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:31

That's quite an amusing image.

Why don't birth balls come with handles like space hoppers?

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 16/07/2008 19:33

I think you should aim to stay on the ground if possible. Little bounces and strolls and occasional starjumps.

FrannyandZooey · 16/07/2008 19:33

hold on a minute

you mean they DON'T, usually?

filthymindedvixen · 16/07/2008 19:34

have you got a tramploine?

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 19:37

Trampoloine?
