For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello

It is Wet here. I am a little tired of Wet.

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2008 12:27

Wet not good for dragons

TigerFeet · 09/07/2008 12:29

Or tigers

But we can't fly so I suppose it doesn't matter quite so much.

However it is difficult to prowl around looking majestic when one stinks to high heaven of Wet Cat

IdrisTheDragon · 09/07/2008 12:29

Very true. I had forgotten about that. My kagoule keeps me dry though .

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2008 12:29

I don't expect steam engines like it an awful lot do they Boco?

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 09/07/2008 12:31

And it is my top half that is more important to keep dry. Wet feet aren't so worrying somehow (the fact that I seem to always wear my sturdy Clarks sandals would probably be why)

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2008 12:31

and as a paperback containing two novellas I should really be in fear of it, but perhaps I am hardback with a plastic cover from the library

Fictional characters are of course immune to the weather

Boco · 09/07/2008 12:31

That sounds wise Franny, just take it one day at a time and accept that the whole thing is brave, without adding any extra anxiety.

My midwives were encouraging me to wait longer - but after days of prelabour I was too tired so went in. But when dd was born they said she looked prem, she was covered in vernix and only under 7lbs so they said 'oh you she could have done with another 2 weeks!' So, I briefly regretted, but really, you know your own reserves of energy and another 2 weeks would have wiped me out. Some days you have more resolve and more strenght than others so I think it's fine to just take it as it comes isn't it.

Still, you don't look pregnant from that other galaxy.

TigerFeet · 09/07/2008 12:32

Oooh Franny are you Hard? [scared]

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2008 12:32

I'm just a copy of the book I think, not the actual people
I don't think I could handle being two Salinger characters both at the same time

you know who's laughing, don't you?

(TMI)

gritty

that lovely placenta I had spent months making

BBee won't be happy. Bee's cant fly in the rain, she'll be grounded, or just banging her head repeatedly against a window and buzzing mournfully.

Boco · 09/07/2008 12:35

Ah Franny, they probably just meant gritty as in 'cutting edge / radical'.

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2008 12:35

LOL

yes and my umbilical cord was a bit edgy, also

[shock[ Boco @ stray apostrophe

I will let you off though, given that you have been Very Brave during your driving lesson

TigerFeet · 09/07/2008 12:40

Bollocks, it would appear that I can't type either

OsmosisBanana · 09/07/2008 12:48

I've eaten a mountain of chickpeas and two bananas.

I have discovered I am allergic to peaches, having eaten them all my life, had one yesterday and my whole face went bright red, lumpy and itchy and I felt sick for 2 hours.

My insurance company can't seem to get anyone to answer the blumin phone at SITA (obviously) to fess up to totally fucking over my car. I have a bad feeling about this.

Raining v badly here too. Not good. Sodden up to me knees.

Am off to order 2 nutrition books for uni. It'll only set me back £65. Yikes. Thank God we haven't got any other major expenses..... Like cars, builders, new central heating, vet bill for stupid ass dog.

Guess it's chickpeas for lunch for quite some time.

LullyOfShallot · 09/07/2008 13:06

I went to 42+2

Guadalupe · 09/07/2008 13:14

I think islands and rivers and virgins like rain.

Will they really fit dd1, Boco? Sorry about that, she's not fond of skirts is she? I thought they would fit your dd2. What a nuisance.

More vegi sushi and superfood salad from Boots. I have wilting lettuce in the fridge but it is not appetising. I will Do Something with it for dinner.

OsmosisBanana · 09/07/2008 13:19

any particular reason virgins like rain? Or is just common knowledge? I am wracking my brains for an obvious song title with virgins and rain but can only think of madonna.
