For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

LOL when I had ds my mother asked if I could be induced a bit early as it would make it so handy for visiting on a particular weekend she had a fancy to
I hope you told her she didn't look pg from the back Boco

bit of salad with lunch. Not a portion. We are running low on fresh food AGAIN how can this be? Dp told me last night how much we spent on food every month in the last year. I am trying to blank it from my mind.

hello everyone just dropping in hope you are all ok

i see franny is still here

and ur still has bf

Boco · 04/07/2008 13:26

Hello Zippi! How are you?

Yes, she didn't have x-ray because dp fed her, but then by yesterday evening she was ok, and eating and not choking, but then all night she made weird noises again.

I couldn't tell her she didn't look pg from behind because she didn't move from her sprawled and exhausted slumped position. But I did say that she didn't look pg until you looked at her belly.

She's having a boy and his middle name will be Oswald.

i am ok

who are you talking about boco a person or a dog?

my car is on very expensive extended holiday in london which is costing me £2200 estimated

it has been there for two weeks

i am not going to visit it this weekend tho i am going to stay with bf

Boco · 04/07/2008 13:42

Why is your car on holiday?

I was talking about a cat first, then a person.

UnderRated · 04/07/2008 14:50

Lovely story re breastfeeding & delicious.

Avi, DS will be 3 in September. Sorry about cat, Boco. Hi Zippi Your car is v $$$$$

Glad your trip was productive, Bero, at least the academic bit. The homesickness is not nice but hope it settles soon. My mum is in Germany and is complaining how hot it has been.

I have a morning all to myself - laundry, bath, tidying, cleaning, then away for the night.

FrannyandZooey · 04/07/2008 15:13

I am making a big vat of korma
I had a sleep while ds was at nursery this morning (he doesn't usually got on Fridays but I swopped after his duck bread malaise ) and he is now out with his young lady friend so hoorah, I haven't done any bulk cooking for ages (partly because dp says the freezer is going to split if I try to fit any more things in it)

ds has written fab poem hold on will c+p

oh hello zippi!

I am as strong as a deer
I am as snuggly as a bunny
I am as silky as an otter
I am as gentle as a lamb
I am as fast as a hare
I am as cross as a wasp
I am as thirsty as a blackbird
I am as kickish as a baby
I am as happy as a star

do you like it? when I say he 'wrote' it he dictated it, obviously. Well not obviously, maybe, but obviously to me, because he can't write.

Boco · 04/07/2008 15:20

Lol that's fab!
At first I thought it was you asserting your pregnancy mightiness and that the doula had finally got to you.

FrannyandZooey · 04/07/2008 15:25

I am as wobbly as a hippo
I am as immobile as a slug

lol

Great poem. I used to do simile poems like that with Y4/5 and it could be so frustrating as they were often fairly unimaginative (As silky as silk, as brown as mud etc) and sometimes they'd be fab:
as special as my mum
as cross funny as UnderRated
as exciting as Christmas day morning
as white as the new fallen snow

FrannyandZooey · 04/07/2008 15:55

yes I was sort of disappointed to see a few cliches sneaking in there already - eg the snuggly bunny and the gentle lamb, but there's enough mildly bonkers ones as well to make it interesting

ooh ooh me and Boco are BOTH on the talk round up this week
but we obviously haven't been funny lately, this was from a year ago
I don't even remember being on that thread

OP posts:
Boco · 04/07/2008 16:54

I just saw that too and couldn't remember posting it at all. Had to go and check that I actually had.

FrannyandZooey · 04/07/2008 17:47

veg korma:
onion, mushroom, courgette, cauli, swede, carrot, borlotti beans, raisins
I don't think coconut counts
am just about to eat it anyway

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 04/07/2008 18:28

it was good
very very good
ds said 'scrumptious' and was persuaded to do the hand kissing thing again just for old times sake

OP posts:
UnderRated · 04/07/2008 18:44

But not exquisite? Scrumptious is almost as good. The finger kissing thing helps. I tried to teach DS that but he didn't get it.

Off to raid the garden now.

FrayedKnot · 04/07/2008 19:24

I have failed

I forgot to think about Windy Miller until about half an hour ago and here you still are, cooking a korma

I have been out all day and being organisational at this day out thingie and I am the kind of tired where you think you might cry

It was good though, the weather has been great.

The peom is lovely

FrayedKnot · 04/07/2008 19:25

peom?

I rather like it

should have said was exquisitely scrumptious

pinkspottywellies · 04/07/2008 21:32

We're home Took about 6 hours to get home. I drove

A little bit of salad for lunch. Oh lord that's it! Walked to the seafront and back this morning. 20 mins.

Can't think. Need to go to bed.
