For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hmm. Tis not a great laugh. nNo. Especialy when I use my job to keep sane. Not a natural at this SAHMothering thing. Not at all. FGS - I haven't even managed to get the duvet cover on my duvet yet... Standards have slipped my veg folk... Oh yes, they have slipped... From the pit to the sewer.

Nah... It's not so bad, most of my downstairs is now upstaits in preparation for ground floor demolition.

Am thinkng about going to Glasto, chucking Isla over the fence (now she weighs so little) and getting her to rob my a wrist band. Might work.

Hmm. Might have moren luck with BF who is meeting up with ex there today who is in Zion Train..

Festival envy sucks.

Hows you FMB? Nice new name. I like a commie era slant.

OsmosisBanana · 27/06/2008 16:16

How odd TF, you labour story was exactly the same timings as mine for DD start to finish.

I love a good coinkidink

pinkspottywellies · 27/06/2008 16:38

Hello! Just seen that I haven't been on since Tues! Did you miss me?

Quite good exercise week but I'm going to my mum's for a week tomorrow so haven't been shopping and have just been using stuff up. Lots of frozen peas this week

Anything I need to know about? Haven't read through but did see no crisps at Avi's line Hope everyone's ok.

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 16:40

Sorry, Lully, did you get it from TooT? MN was down this morning, I was out all day and then fell asleep when I got back

I told midwife I was wibbling about position, and she checked and said its head is so wedged in it would be some kind of miracle if it turned round now

I can't get an appointment for the week of my due date which I am meant to, in case I haven't had it. Does this matter? I mean what would I do, turn up and say "I am due today and haven't had it." "Oh. Go home and wait a week." Yes? It doesn't matter, does it?

breakfast: grapes, apple, pear, banana, raisins. Orange juice. 5 and a 1/2

What do you mean F&Z about appt? No time to catch up, still pox ridden here.

You will still get a home birth even 10-14 days post del date. Just in case that is your worry.

You were ridiculously tiny in my dream post baby. Good work.

filthymindedbolshevixen · 27/06/2008 17:01

I had antenatal check up two days before due date. They ended up keeping me in and inducing me as my waters were seeping...

next time round I kept well away and waited til I was in labour

pinkspottywellies · 27/06/2008 17:01

I have plain smileys, shiny smileys and multicoloured stars What can I do you for!?

pinkspottywellies · 27/06/2008 17:27

I've had a purple star and a red smiley this week and I did 10 mins on the stepper but that doesn't get a sticker.

Franny I have one for you that says 'I did good labour today' so just let me know when!

LullyOfShallot · 27/06/2008 18:11

Franny
Here I was fretting away & here you are
(ignore note I sent with bag)

We shall need a step by step account of where you will be each day & at what time so we dont start clucking when you vanish for a few hours

we went for a bike ride to cream tea which was very lovely
lots of tables outside with vases of wild roses & lavender & lots of bunting & homemade scones, homemade jam, locally picked strawbs & pots of cream.
Not sure about the builders tea tho...should have taken an earl grey tea bag with me.
All the children climbed trees, had cartwheel competitions & guzzled strawberries & ds lent his bike to all & sundry.I had a lovely snuggle with the Vicar's 6m old little girl.
Twas lovely
Then we went to P.O & ds asked why I was posting off my bag.I told him a friend needed it for her new baby.
He replied, after some thought, that the baby would probably cry if put in the bag

Bbbee · 27/06/2008 18:14

hi again

am around but feel very out of touch

always feel i should say hi if i am posting sround.

love

bee

LullyOfShallot · 27/06/2008 18:16

come back Beeeeeee
we miss you

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 18:19

I held a baby
it was vast
my arms got tired
I gave it back as soon as I could

Lully sorry, I said to dp when I woke up 'oh lord I have not been on MN all day and they will think I have some news'
tbh if I am not here it is very UNlikely IMO that anything has happened
because as soon as I have a twinge or anything I will be logged on [attention seeker]

spinach, lettuce, basil, carrot, tomato, cucumber, avocado, black eyed beans, new pots, mozzarella salad

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 18:21

oh lord ds having major meltdown
he is knackered
I should really go and help dp but I am so stiff from day in town I can hardly walk
lordy it's bad when there is wailing before 6.30 isn't it?

OP posts:
Boco · 27/06/2008 18:21

I love builder's tea best of all.

Sounds like a lovely day Lully.

Not long now Franny, you don't look pg from behind, just very well.

Have had funny day of extra children and rushing about and swimming and toddler groups and appointments and forgetting things and losing things. Dp just got home and complained about the state of the floor and has been doing meaningful floor cleaning ever since. But really. 4 children this afternoon and an art cupboard, what does he expect.

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 18:24

Hah
my mum rang yesterday and said FOUR TIMES not long now

dp suggests I should reply "not long now till I give you a good kicking" to the next person who says it, but I felt slightly harsh perhaps?

does anyone want to guess what it is ds is having a tantrum about? it's quite good

oh dear dp is giving him the thing he is kicking off about, ah well that will help with future tantrums I am sure [inert emoticon]

OP posts:
LullyOfShallot · 27/06/2008 18:32

yes yes we want to know as soon as anything happens
we will probably all have sympathy labour pains
glad you are ok

poor old ds,the waiting must be v difficult at this age
what did dp give in to then ?

Boco...drinking builders tea makes my tongue go furry,it's like licking cardboard boxes.
How is are the dd's?

LullyOfShallot · 27/06/2008 18:33

How is are?????

Boco · 27/06/2008 18:37

They is are ok Lully.
DD had another fight with this tricky girl today. She said she was playing and being a bird and flapping her arms and accidentally caught the girl with her finger nail, and the girl went running to the teacher saying that she'd scratched her on purpose. The teacher told dd to be more careful etc, dd said it was an accident, and this girls sang a 'you are lying' song until dd burst into tears. She came out of school really upset, and the mother came up and said 'you silly thing dd1, we should bang your heads together shouldn't we!'

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 18:39

oh it was "a cup of tea as white as a mountain"
just what you would normally be giving your child at bedtime (he only means redbush with lots of milk in)
he seems to get so tired during the week - don't know what to do about it really? he almost always wakes up when dp gets up (6.20 am) and if put to bed earlier will be a bit of a pain getting bored and calling out to us
he goes to bed at 7 anyway! and if by chance he does have a lie in, he will not go to sleep at 7 the following night but lie awake, so there doesn't seem to be an answer

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 18:41

oh flaming nora boco
thank god it is holidays soon
(sorry that has a 'not long now' ring to it, doesn#t it?)

this mother is the worst of it, isn't she?

OP posts:
LullyOfShallot · 27/06/2008 18:44

Good Lord above
No wonder the little girl is like she is with a mother like that.
Oh poor dd,she's on a horrible rollercoaster isn't she?
It's so hard when there is no immediate solution to put things right isn't it.

Ds came out of nursery very sadly on Monday because 11 children had been given party bags & a cupcake but not him.He asked the little boy why and boy replied 'Because my Mummy doesn't like you'

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 18:46

the buggers!
nursery shouldn't let this sort of stuff happen, surely?

OP posts:
LullyOfShallot · 27/06/2008 18:51

It is hard,ds gets exhausted too but actually does love going to bed.
It works better when we can go out & not return till tea time & then bath/stories bed..no time for grumps

If we are here most of the afternoon by 4.30 he is knackered & bad tempered.

I'm dreading school in January, the long hrs are going to be a huge shock & he'll fall asleep on his feet on the way home I expect
