Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

god I love my Residents' Association Newsletter
read this bit:

"Not Very Neighbourly
Most residents who remove the excess stones etc. from their gardn dispose of them responsibly; however someone was too lazy to do this and dumped theirs. partially bagged, under the conifers in someone else's garden: This is not a very pleasant thing to do."

oh hooray! they are now NOT building flats on the lovely greenfield site near us - not yet anyway
however as Residents' News points out with inimitable style
"it is a pity they waited until after they had chopped down the trees"

Mackeral with carrot, apple, onion, cabbage and cider vinegar coleslaw plus two beetroots.

Almonds and raisins. Apple.

White tea with pomegranate. You can't count that, just telling you as it's nice.

FrannyandZooey · 16/06/2008 13:27

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 16/06/2008 13:33

is nobody else falling about at
"this is not a very pleasant thing to do"?
do you not think it will persuade any future stone tippers of the inherent wrongness of their actions?

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 16/06/2008 13:33

it is rather understated

Guadalupe · 16/06/2008 13:35

white tea is like green tea butlighter and fresher, made from the buds of the green tea plant, and this one has a very slight hint of pomegranate. Must be made weak though, is awful and fishy if left for too long.

UnderRated · 16/06/2008 13:47

UnderRated · 16/06/2008 14:01

Am ok, zippi. Had an odd few days. Big day today. And busy week.

LullyOfShallot · 16/06/2008 14:06

Typical
While we were in charity shop miles away last week,ds pleaded ,whined & whinged for two enormous cuddly elephants.

I said No,no & absolutely No...hence much crying

Old lady has just rung me to say that we have WON them
How can we have won something when I didn't enter anything?

I sense a conspiracy
& we have to have our blooming photo taken for paper

humbug
