Ring him and make him go get it immediately!

I have to have 2 pots a day at least and still sometimes have to take opramazole as my stomach makes acid overtime - think you can take oprmazole or losec whilst pregnant - ask your doctor.

I read somewhere the other day that its not so much of an old wives tale, heartburn=hairy baby. Ther does seem to be a higher amount of hairy babies born to heartburn sufferers in pregnancy!

I had chronic heartburn with my 1st two, both hairy, getting it now with this one, will wait and see!
Cant believe I will have another baby as hairy as Dd

Im another gaviscon swigger!!

expatinscotland · 12/06/2008 15:35

well, it didn't really work for me! had bad heartburn, had baldy baby. had heartburn, had a baby with lots of head hair - who now has thin hair and next to no body hair.

warthog · 12/06/2008 16:49

i had chronic heartburn and my dd was far from hairy! in fact she's hardly got any hair at all

VictorianSqualor · 12/06/2008 18:48

Mine have al had a bit of hair, but not tons, unless you count DS2's back

expatinscotland · 12/06/2008 23:14

it is really kicking my arse tonight.

it fecking HURTS.

jessiesmummy · 12/06/2008 23:16

I had terrible heartburn when I was pregnant. I'm not sure how much your meant to take but I used to pretty much drink it from the bottle. I was also drinking six pints of whole milk a day which really soothed the heartburn, but also contributed to me putting on 4 stone! Good luck xxx

expatinscotland · 12/06/2008 23:18

can't drink milk as am lactose intolerant.

jasper · 12/06/2008 23:51

zantac is the only thing that worled for me.
I nearly wrote to the manufacturers to thank them !

Weegiemum · 13/06/2008 03:52

I used to slug gaviscon straight from the bottle and got it 2 litres at a time on prescription when I was pg! Went through all the flavours - minty was my fave!

It isn't absorbed, afaik, so you can take as much as you need. Can make yor bowels a bit loose as it passes through you, though!

expatinscotland · 13/06/2008 17:25

I forgot to phone in to the surgery for more Gaviscon.

Damn.

Thankfully, we've got some Zantac in the cupboard to tide me over for the weekend.

Arrgggh.

He doesn't like cloudy lemonade anymore, either.

ThinWhiteDuchess · 13/06/2008 17:41

Had terrible heartburn when pg (and yes, DD had lots and lots of hair when born). As well as Gaviscon I drank gallons of milk, which seemed to help. I also read somewhere that wine gums helped, so using that as an excuse I ate loads of those too!

The ones that you chew I foudn hwere so much better. they tasted so grim you forgot about the burning. Also extra strong mints were good too

Lozza70 · 13/06/2008 19:36

No major heartburn here but my sis really suffered and was eating Rennie by the handful. She told her chiropractor and they did a manipulation on the top of her stomach and effectively switched it off. Sounds a bit strange but it really worked for her!
