Steve died at 10.30 in Jo's arms where he belonged.

I have spoken to her & she asked me to let you all know. Her dear friend Tracey is with her.

God he put up a good fight & I for one feel honored to have known him & his family.

Hello, just having a few minutes before the never ending round of phonecalls and paper work.
The kids are doing really well i am proud of them and i know that steve would be too.
Elliot came downstairs last night with a fabric picture of dad that he did at school some months back and said, mum the world will be green with envy that i have a fake dad cos i don't have a dad anymore
so Fake dad has been blutaced to the wall and was kissed goodnight, elliot thought it was really cool that fake dad couldn't nick his sweets
today i have to decide what clothes steve will be dressed in and take them up to him.
the funeral is sorted for next wednesday.

lucyellensmum · 11/06/2008 09:29

and at the Fake Dad. Bless Eliots little heart - he is being very strong. So are you. My love and best wishes as always OJ. I found this week between my dad dying and the funeral surreal, its almost like the stuff you have to do gets you through. I wish you strength, and hang on to those lovely memories.

Children are an inspiration aren't they - they are tougher than we give them credit for, and more vulnerable too. It is your strength in them that makes them cope so.

take care
xxx

mistypeaks · 11/06/2008 09:29

OJ - Take care of yourself. I hope Wednesday is everything you want it to be. I'll be there in spirit. Elliot is almost right though - the world will be green with envy that his dad was so wonderful.

onlyjoking9329 · 11/06/2008 09:32

i think it would be rather fitting that people raise a spoon of trifle to steve on wednesday

bossybritches · 11/06/2008 09:34

Morning Jo- yes a mass trifle indulgence next wednesday would be apt

Thanks for the updates oj. x

May I suggest that any of us buying (rather than making) trifle get them nice and early in the week, in case the shops sell out.

What a lovely idea, raising a spoonful of trifle, very fitting.

Thomcat · 11/06/2008 09:35

Trifle is on my shopping list for next week. Will be thinking of you as I try and swallow cold custard!

Big love Jo. You and those kids are amazing.
