For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Stuffit - when will you move? I've been wondering about you.

Hope everyone is ok. I have a day off today but need to do lots of dull stuff. Man has invited me over to his place for the entire weekend and I'm not sure if two nights is a bit much. He did promise to put me on the train home if I want to leave.

I went singing tonight. It was lovely. There were grown ups there.

fullmoonfiend · 30/05/2008 08:11

morning.
I can't face the washing up.
Now I know why I don't like hosting parties. All the effort for a a couple of hours. And then hours tidying up afterwards.
We had a perfectly pleasant evening.
But not riotous
And my 2 best friends did not warm to each other. Which was awkward. Clash Of The Virgos.
Ho hum. And period has arrived again.
And my sister is arriving this evening with plans for a wild night out...

Good news about Boco and Bocolette.

berolina · 30/05/2008 08:25

Morning all.

Glad you had a good evening, FMF, if not riotous. I have had that friends-not-getting-on thing quite a lot, as I tend to have friends scattered around all walks of life rather than 'groups' - at one party once a full-scale political row blew up But the weekend before last everyone got on .

My left eye is dry and very slightly painful again. The first couple of times I thought I was getting conjunctivitis, but I don't reckon it can be that. Could it be an eyesight problem? I can see fine really, but know if by some impossibility I decided to learn to drive, I would probably not pass the sight test. Maybe I should get checked? Have always hankered a bit after glasses.

Pumpkin-seed bread. We have run out of fruit , apart from some pears which still need to ripen.

MrsCarrot · 30/05/2008 08:52

I had friends for dinner once and they did not get on At All. It was awful. One couple turned up with one bottle of wine and the other arrived with four and that was a bit awkward, well they seemed to think it was.

Then they argued all evening. My friend argued with my other friends husband and it was very, well I know because I am a pilot, well I know because my brothers been a pilot for twenty years and so. There was a lot of me springing up with a forced smile singing, coffee?

Actually I don't know if we've had people since then, well people who don't know each other. The funny thing is they all bumped into each other the next morning in the B&Q carpark, really hungover and made polite conversation about fence panels.

No food as yet.

MrsCarrot · 30/05/2008 08:54

sorry, that was a very dull anecdote. You wonder if there is anythiing more dull than a dull dinner party but of course there is the anecdote about the dull dinner party.

MrsCarrot · 30/05/2008 08:56

We are going to the sea life centre this afternoon. I expect I will feel sad about the sea horses and then we will buy a rubber and some chips and come home.

[sidles in] Morning, I can't keep up with this thread.

I'm not too good at the healthy eating bit either. I had a burger last night, although it did have a few leaves on it and a tomato. I also had a bit of fruit yesterday, and my tomato plants are starting to flower. My conservatory smells lovely.

Sorry to hear some poeple are having a hard time at the moment. There seems to be a lot of people struggling right now.

fullmoonfiend · 30/05/2008 09:56

I have chooclate sprinkled with crystalised rose petals, chocolates infused with whisky-soaked raisins, and, er, 3 different chocolate cakes! (and some lemon cheesecake)
Ho hum......

stuffitllama · 30/05/2008 10:40

fmf i saw the word lemon there
it's all good for your serotonins or something
mrs c I loved your story and topped off with "fence panels" -- very Victoria Wood!

i just have dinner parties where the guests get on famously then phone me afterwards and say things like "and whatever was her husband wearing?

i'm looking at a banana

fullmoonfiend · 30/05/2008 10:44

yes, and raisisn. and erm, rose petals...

MrsCarrot · 30/05/2008 10:47

rose petals are very nutritious

stuffitllama · 30/05/2008 10:48

sorry have vicariously eaten all your chocolate
i need the energy
i've left you the lemon and the raisin

MrsCarrot · 30/05/2008 10:49

the sugar preserves them, in fact intensifies the nutrients like some magic cryogenic multiplyer. Uh huh. Yes it does.

MrsCarrot · 30/05/2008 10:50

disclaimer - teething babies make for addled brains

fullmoonfiend · 30/05/2008 10:51

yy MrsC, very good! Now say that again, with conviction, when faced with cynical Frannzy with hands on hip and ''this better be good'' look on face....

MrsCarrot · 30/05/2008 10:57

I will have the mad-eyed look of the sleep deprived

she will agree with me even though the Frannometer screams no

fullmoonfiend · 30/05/2008 11:15

just found out 2 scorpios had a head-to-head as well at last night's gathering, lol...
