Pharmacist just refused to sell me medised for my 3yr old!

I am so angry with her! I know the recommendations have changed and medised is no longer suitable for children under 2 but my DD is 3.

She said it was unsuitable for young children and produced a leaflet telling me how to deal with a cold (plenty of fluids, rest etc) FGS I'm not a bloody moron!!
It's not even a new formulation, the bottles on the shelf were the old 'from 3 months' stock.

I told her I knew the recommendations and had checked on the medised site. Had a row with her and stormed out in the end

hi advice needed pls. i put the last drops of piriton in a cup for my little boys ezcema so i could dispose of the bottle, not enough for 1 dose i dont think but my hubby thinks when he gave our older child medised suggested by our gp for dd not sleeping he put too much on the spoon so added it to the same cup. me not knowing this i gave my son 2.5ml of what i thought to b piriton but hubby told me straight away he thought it to b a mix of the 2. we cant b sure n r now worried that son has had a mix of the 2. is this harmfull for them to have a mix of 2 antihistamines. should i go to a&e

I don't know if this has already been said on this thread but our pharmacist says the rules have changed again re Medised and that they are not allowed to sell it for anyone wanting to use it on children under the age of 6!

graciem you bumped an old thread on mn rather than get your child seen to? I hope you at least rang NHS direct.

graciem, I can understand you must have been worried (hopefully you have got some advice elsewhere by now). Your request was mostly lost because this is such an old thread. You might get more specific help if you start your own threads, particularly for urgent issues.

Hope your boy is OK.
