Welcome to the thread, the purpose of this is to give anyone who is having any trouble with their drinking, a safe place to come and post about it honestly and without judgement.

There are many of us that use the thread for support and encouragement: some in recovery, others just needing a place to share about their worries. It's been going on in one form of another for a while now and has helped many people.

Thank you to all of those who have kept it going thus far, and welcome to anyone who has decided the time has come to ask for help.

Viola - amazing Nas! Are you very good? Have played recorder, piano and guitar at one point or another. Got really quite good at piano but then left school and pianos were never really that easy to come by!

My work tis very boring - I work for myself and I work at home which means I'm often working!!

I'm a translator. Went self-employed about 6 years ago and the first year was horrific, got into such debt. It's got better and better and now I curse when my inbox is full, rather than empty!!

Nas, good for you! And then going off to play viola of an evening, it's fucking brilliant! Do you play classical only or do you do contemporary stuff too? My stepbrother is a trumpet/horn player and is in a band. He's a sweetheart but often misses gatherings as he stops off to practice on the way somewhere!! (he gets easily distracted).

I do french, spanish and portuguese but french mainly. It's a great job as every job you get is different so less inclination to get bored!

I try so bloody hard to help myself youknow, depsite what people think - the drinking is really justr the coping strategy

I don't doubt for a minute that you're not trying to help yourself Nas! That's the thing, I think we all try but some of us (me/you/XXX% of the rest of the world) use drink / drugs whatever to help us along, whether it's right or wrong, that's what we do.

I don't Msn or facebook after being a total twit on there (will brave it soon PurpleOne!!). Shall I CAT you? I can (I've learned how!!)

Have promised myself not to venture into other networking areas (except for FB maybe) as I work with my PC all day and it's such a temptation to do this and not work (post count will bear evidence to that ).

I honestly have left no detail out: working, mum - gardening, mum - hemming my trousers. My life really is that dull
