you see I don't think I would want anyone
(have strong hermit streak)
but who knows
I think you really need to think what is helpful for YOU and be more assertive or get dh to be
this is no time to be polite, really

I'm a little confused. I'm sure I'll figure it out though.

My house is a hovel. Plastering not successful, had to knock a wall down. Everything is everywhere - covered in dust. I am sleeping in the living room whilst DD and SD share my room. SIgh. And it isn't finished and the plasterer friend has gone back to Swansea. Double sigh.

And I have decided on no school night drinking. SIGH

MrsCarrot · 13/05/2008 12:36

True, I haven't seen my mother yet though, she might be offended if I put her off. I would rather sit in the sun with a greek salad and tall drink and the paper though.

I talk to my friend this morning about her divorce the whole time as I couldn't be bothered to repeat the op talk. She said, oh, I am only talking about me, yes, I say that's fine, carry on.

MrsCarrot · 13/05/2008 12:36

then my head did the lolling thing

MrsCarrot · 13/05/2008 12:37

I decide that every week, Osmo, it never works

OsmosisBanana · 13/05/2008 12:51

I know, I know. I have tried many times before but this time it going to work for at leats a month as it is the only way I am going to lose the last 1/2 a stone.

Then I can go back to guzzling.

UnderRated · 13/05/2008 14:51

Head Lolling thing sounds useful, MrsC. Hope all goes well with your mum.

UnderRated · 13/05/2008 14:53

And yes, we need a united thread next week (or sooner)

Boco · 13/05/2008 15:22

Hello veggers.
Lolling sounds good mrsc.

Am having a bit of a thoughtful and sad day today. My friend had very sad baby news
Had a bit of a stupid weeked. Am maudlin. But going to do bracing walking until I stop.

MrsCarrot · 13/05/2008 15:25

Oh, Boco, sorry to hear about your friend. I pestered you about returning the journal as well. Hope the rest of your week improves.

Boco · 13/05/2008 16:05

No that was fine, I wasn't ignoring you, just couldnt' find the postcode anywhere and kept meaning to say. Anyway, no hurry in returning it.

MrsCarrot · 13/05/2008 16:19

Oh good

My mum has gone now after amusing herself no end by laughing at my sun lunger. She says it looks like something out of One Flew Over the Cuckoos nest except she kept pronouncing it Koo-koo and it really annoyed me.

Boco · 13/05/2008 16:26

I'd be alarmed at a sun lunger too.

zippitippitoes · 13/05/2008 16:37

this is where you are well this fell on my head this am

FrannyandZooey · 13/05/2008 16:59

ruddy hell zippi do you still have all your ears and stuff

Boco sorry to hear of sadness

MrsC glad your mum has gone. Mine is coming next week. I'm stressed already. May have to start a thread whinging.

also a random child just came round and wanted to be allowed in to play. I don't know who the fuck they were and they were quite insistent about it but I didn't let them. From talking to dp it sounds like they keep getting dumped on the families in our row, and so I am surmising there is some problem somewhere, but I can't have random unknown child in the house and I am REALLY not wanting to set precedent of random unknown child turning up whenever (and saying "I have to be home at 6 pm" )

feel like the Selfish Giant dp and ds are doing gardening and he was saying "can I go and help them?" oh dear am rotten old cow
I just fear him turning up a lot and me having to do things like supervise them when I want to be lying down reading a book
I am getting very stingy and mingy about my time, privacy and rest

zippitippitoes · 13/05/2008 17:02

zippitippitoes · 13/05/2008 17:03

zippitippitoes · 13/05/2008 17:11

god to leave before the end i think

FrannyandZooey · 13/05/2008 17:13

well they were swelling tbh
this is not really how I saw my life mid 30s
leaving a folk gig early because my ankles were swelling up
ah well

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 13/05/2008 17:15

obviously good to leave before the end

god to leave before the end well we would knpow we were doomed then

stuffitllama · 13/05/2008 17:15

poor puffy ankles
had them too, of all the downsides of pregnancy this was one of the most flattening

but can give you hope from the other side .. in a few years time you will be very very different
being forty (odd) with children at school can be a fun time
i mean not always, but it really can be

stuffitllama · 13/05/2008 17:16

god how patronising

FrannyandZooey · 13/05/2008 17:17

LOL no school on the horizons here atm stuffit
I didn't think it was patronising
yes looking down at your sausagey puffy ankles really makes a girl feel glamorous

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 13/05/2008 17:18

in case you are now confused
