For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

well acksherly osmo i thought of you and zippi today
and like magic voila!
and your weekend sounds, like, magic
another banana
my mouth is exhausted from eating vegetables and fruit

all look away now if feeling fragile this morning or if not interested
Toot i worry about my bottom because whenever i get my period i get constipated and terrible shooting pelvic pains, and it's all clotty, like it never has been, so like a goshdarned fool I googled it and up popped endometriosis so tbh I really want it to be piles! which of course it is and must be. pls all do ignore I'm certainly trying to

stuffitall · 07/05/2008 00:01

ugh
wish hadn't pressed post
ignore

UnderRated · 07/05/2008 01:48

Hope Franny feels better.

Stuffit, that all sounds a bit worrying. Do you think you should see a dr? Hope you are ok. I don;t think there is any such thing as tmi on 10/10, is there? Toot, how is your bottom now? (Mine is fine, if anyone is interested)

Zippi, those prices are shocking and scary. Hope you are ok re DD1 in the house.

Glad you had a good weekend, osmo.

UnderRated · 07/05/2008 01:50

Oh, um... red pepper, alfalfa. Oh dear

zippitippitoes · 07/05/2008 02:03

oh re f and v fairly not beaten much raspberries at leasdt 2

2 APPLES AND ABANAN

2 bananas

an apple

and some grapes rearrawnged as wine

UnderRated · 07/05/2008 03:02

lol @ grapes in wine. Maybe I should stop this teetotal business and crack open a bottle. Only for F&V intake purposes, you understand.

FrannyandZooey · 07/05/2008 07:53

stuffit this is the thread for TMI about bottoms
you're in safe hands here
mine is definitely better but not absolutely tiptop this morning

anyway
the physio
examined me thoroughly and said almost exactly the same things as the hospital one except that she does not think there is anything wrong with my pelvis except pg, so no point trying to manipulate it, and yes it will almost certainly get worse as the baby moves down
she did say my back would probably get better around that time so every cloud, and all that....
[gloom]
she was however very clear and unequivocal and said I have to wear the horrible ugly belt all the time and sleep with a pillow between my knees, which I did last night and is really hot and uncomfortable
and it doesn't hurt me at night anyway so I am cross about that
and she said basically trying to rest was the only answer and hoping it doesn't get too bad
and I am feeling cheated, as I thought if I paid someone they would say yes of course we can fix it, the hospital people are just inept
stupid franny

right another non-cunting mango success
raisins, banana, kiwis

OP posts:
stuffitall · 07/05/2008 08:41

morning
my morning banana
you are having good luck with the mangos fran

but how awful about the next weeks of pain and discomfort, I missed this but did you have it last time? I can see the thing about wearing the belt and the pillow, my dd had a clicky hip and had to wear double nappies -- it didn't seem to be doing much but apparently the mildest correction helped. But that might be completely different. Maybe you will see the benefit in the end.. would like to wish it away for you so you can enjoy the last months.

Toot I read back about your daughter's bullying. I'm glad she's having a fresh start in September, it sounds like you did exactly the right thing, I should think many parents wish they had the same courage.

Thanks for the bottom sympathy, pain's all gone till next month and am going to (shall I say wipe it from my brain?) no -- I'll say i'm going to push it to the back of my mind.

stuffitall · 07/05/2008 08:41

ps rofling at grapes rearranged as wine

Papillon · 07/05/2008 08:44

non-cunting... ?

I am already slipping off the fruit and vege wagon, pears with porridge couple of mandarins but not alot of vege. 6 portions and its time for bed soon. oh I had a glass of wine so afew grapes.

Papillon · 07/05/2008 08:51

ouch, that does not sound good franny, I had alot of hip pain in my 2nd pregnancy, but no belt. I did sleep on alot of pillows, which made me higher than dh! but worked well tomake me slightly comfortable. when are you due?

zippitippitoes · 07/05/2008 08:52

hieveryone

ladywombling · 07/05/2008 09:04

Morning all, just checking in to say I have NOT eaten, five, count them, yes five cunting, bitching, crappy mangoes, and DD snaffled the sixth non cunting one, bah!

Might check in later from work. Franny and Stuffit, and welcome back Osmosis, and hello everyone.

Mrs C - hope you are recovering well.

x

stuffitall · 07/05/2008 10:48

Hi Womble
Zippi, are you back, how was it?
I had to go out

Boco · 07/05/2008 10:56

Stuffit endometriosis or however it's spelt can be fairly mild. My friend has it and just being on the pill has made it go away. She got shooting pains up her bum. Now she's fine. But she does have to take the pill. Talk to your GP adn then you don't have to worry about it anymore.

This is becoming the ailing bottom thread.

I am in tip top condition atm. Apart from my all consuming itchy rash of course.

Just had a driving lesson and failed to reverse around a corner again. Well I did it, but I mounted the pavement and the instructor just sat there saying 'fail fail fail fail fail'. Haven't told him that next week is last lesson for a while. Will have to practice with dp which will be fun.

zippitippitoes · 07/05/2008 11:16

i havent been yet leaving very shortly

i still dont know why i am going

zippi considers making up ailing bottom reason using someone elses symptoms from thread

Boco · 07/05/2008 11:18

Good luck Zip, maybe it'll all just come to you when you get there. Hope it's a nice sympathetic GP who lets you ponder.

stuffitall · 07/05/2008 11:26

Think you're right Boco, and not much to be done anyway. No more re: my bottom. I like the idea of a gp diagnosing multitude of veggers' symptoms, wonder what he would come up with.

Am at home a lot this week, pottering, I love it.

zippitippitoes · 07/05/2008 12:32

well i went she was affable but never seen her before and she is a locum or something i think she said she would be there for a few months

i should have sen my proper docotor who knows my medical history

anyway i asked for the results of the blood test thingy they did last year when i wanted to have a baby and she said one hormone was raised but the lutenising hormone was normal which apparently is the one that makes you pregnant

i shall have to ask what that means so theoretically i could get preganant so need contraception

ironically

i did say well what if i took nothing and she said sods law would mean that if you are in a new relationship and dont want a baby you might get pregnant..is this medical speak?

so she said i should have a mirena coil

i then said well should i as i have a mental health history and she said it should be ok

i then said i wanted to talk to someone about mental health and said a few things and she said i seemed normal but i could talk to her if i wanted to

so i said a few things dont think she is really the right person tho

i said i felt i needed to talk to someone because my partner who was th epersonb who helped me with this had left and she said well it didnt seem necessary as she knew some bipolar people and i seemed fine

but she would look at my notes and i could come and see her again if i wanted to

i really wanted to talk to someone

i felt quite vulnerable talking to her i hate talking to medical people they are always crap and i regret it after

i feel stupid now

i dont want to use contraception either

stuffitall · 07/05/2008 13:00

Zippi I'm not a hugger but want to send you some huggy type vibes
You shouldn't feel stupid, she should have realised there was something up and given you the encouragement to talk it through
It seems many doctors are hooked on finding something to prescribe for and if they don't they think there's no reason for you to be there
It sounds like you need someone more experienced, not who "knows a few bipolar people"

why not go for a diaphragm they are the least bother, have you done it before

anyway smiles to you for getting there and saying a bit of what's bothering you

zippitippitoes · 07/05/2008 13:07

she didnt mention diaphragm whatever that is well i kind of know obviously

i saw another thread that they always recommend the mirena coil whatever

MadMumsy · 07/05/2008 13:31

Well it is Wednesday and I have had blueberries with my cereal this morning. Banana when I got into work. Apple at 10.00 am and a satsuma at 11.15. Just about to have another apple.

Went to the gym last night for over an hour and had a long walk to work (over 10 minutes) this morning.

Can I have a doze now?
