For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Fullmoonfiend · 27/04/2008 20:30

Wombling, yes i did get your email, you dear thing. And I composed a long reply and then my email thingy crashed. The upshot is...what a kind thought, have looked into trains to yours and is do-able possibly. But I am dithering wildly ...!

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2008 20:32

Fullmoonfiend · 27/04/2008 20:33

Plus beans, carrots, brocolli, peas, mange toutes, sweet potato.
and tropical fruit juice.

The pieapple was blissfully sweet and delicious and I just couldn't stop.

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2008 20:35

FMF I empathise with your pineapple greed but from experience you will regret it tomorrow

Tatties · 27/04/2008 20:41

berolina · 27/04/2008 20:57

Apple juice, veg bread, banana; lentil and mushroom roast, peas; cherry tomatoes. 7. I take it mango ice-cream doesn't count?

Nobody is emailing me

FrayedKnot · 27/04/2008 21:05

Hello eveyone

Have been out for the day and eaten mountains of pavlova and chocolate brownies.

I had to scroll a lomg way down to find out the relevance of Avi's comment

MrsC my Mum had a hysterectomy also and healthwise she was fine afterwards but I don;t know about the kind of things you are concerned about.

I hope the Dr / Boco's mum can help answer your questions.

Boco hows the rash?

Bero how are you today, sorry things are hard atm

TooT I wish I had some wise words for you

Tatties · 27/04/2008 21:09

Hello TooT and FK

Bero if you want to email, CAT me and you could test me on my very very rusty German

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2008 21:09

Bero - how about that though! A garden! In the mittel. Will you take it do you think? I am rather excited about it.

We went for lovely, lovely walk this morning. And we saw a heron. But it was on the other side of the water. But it turned its head, and looked at me.

Beautiful walk. Made me wonder whether or not I wanted to live in the countryside.

I have eaten a lot of roast pots.

MrsC I have missed your other thread. I hope you are okay. Are we thinking of books to take to hospital with you?

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2008 21:13

100 did you like the heron? What was it thinking when it looked at you?
we haven't got a heron here but we have a mandarin duck and a cormorant

Boco · 27/04/2008 21:13

I thought you hated the countryside 100, and could only be happy where you can hear the clop of heels on pavement and the distant wail of car alarms.

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2008 21:15

My other news is that dh and I were wondering whether we wanted an au pair. And whether anyone would want to come and live here with the general mess and carry-on and ds2 taking his clothes off. Then we did an advert. One person has replied - she is a professional beach volley ball player. lol. Dh says we should interview. lololol. I might you know. How about that? A beach volley ball player in our midst. I bet she'll eat a lot of fruit.

Boco · 27/04/2008 21:16

Where's she from?

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2008 21:16

It was thinking 'I'm going to kill her when she turns her back, I'm going to swoop down in a prehistoric way and have er eyes out.'

I foxed it though, by closing my eyes and leaning on ds2.

I know. But now I think I like it. It was all hazy and spring-filled and there was lots of water and rolling hills.

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2008 21:17

I advertised for a p/t nanny and nearly all the applicants replied in txt spk

one said "i want this job as i need the money"

she went on the shortlist I can tell you

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2008 21:17

The UK. She's training at the university. She's probably great, and then we could go to 2012 and cheer her on on Horse Guards Parade couldn't we?

There will be lycra though. And bikinis.

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2008 21:19

Also plus is that she's already here, and obviously looking for cheap lodging in return for working some hours - so won't sit every evening looking at us sadly while we shift about and ask if she wants to watch Mad Men. She drives and everything.

Boco · 27/04/2008 21:19

Did you watch The Omen at an impressionable time I wonder.

She sounds energetic, she'll have firm thighs and good teeth. You should definitely interview her.
