For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh, I would love to sit and drink wine in an allotment trouble is, because most people here have gardenless flats, everyone wants one, the waiting lists are a mile long and the organisations that run and allocate them are rather difficult to please. And in most of them you have to have a summer-house thing on them, keep your grass a certain length and join regular evenings of forced jollity pleasant barbecuing and Bier-drinking with the organisation. It's sadly not realistic. Every now and then an affordable flat with a communal garden comes up, but there is usually some other problem with it and I know how difficult I'd find a communal garden, tbh. Hence my obsessive dragging of the dses to the (wonderful, heavenly) botanic garden several times a week. ds1 fortunately loves it and has just learned so much there and it is lovely to see. But it's a good 25 mins on foot and by bus.

Toot, ds I think I gave you completely useless advice before thinking that your ds was same age as mine . I think hundred is full of good advice tonight.

Ouch for your poor fanjo Franny. A major downside of pregnancy. Os that it? Unless I missed key horse riding expedition?
Now then, your ds couldn't possibly be frightened of you! Stop talking nonsense you lovely kind boat restoring parent you. I wonder if ds is differnet because he sees dp slightly less so feels like he has to re-establish boundaries and relationship each time?

Oh Bero I completely relate to the ache for a garden, for years I pined and finally found greeness last Sept. Is there any chance of moving somewhere suburban?

I am also wondering how the party went.....

Sorry for opacity. No zippi, not you No, it's to do with things about living here, and how dh and I got together and where we are now, and the fact that things my parents said would make me unhappy are, actually, a bit, and that's really bad because they Were Still Wrong to eject me from the family over dh and refuse even to meet him ever, but they Were Right on some things, very, very secondary things, after all... and tbh I am actually homesick... England-sick, whatever... I'm going to need to sit and think about if, what and how to change things, or aim to.

I would love to see some MNers in Berlin Ellbell is coming in a few weeks. There is also a fantasy MN outing here (planned on another thread).

S1ur · 26/04/2008 23:59

I am too slow at reading/typing.

I have never been to Berlin. But a space outside to sit in and maybe grow things is a privilege. Can there be a compromise? Put of the city but still close enough to commute?

thankyou zippi although I should be in bed. It's 1am and I'm only going to start coughing as soon as I lie down. Last night I had to get up again and take cough mixture.

oh avi and I am raising my half-empty glass to your mother. She sounds truly fab. I hope I can be that kind of mother.

berolina · 27/04/2008 00:04

We called the outing 'Wurst on the Wall', after Bhaji on the Beach. But that's not very 10/10-appropriate. Karotten on the Ku'damm? Rocket on the Reichstag?

(Karotten being carrots, of course. In case anyone is puzzled)

I like it avi!

Have just remembered stuffit is having a party. Wonder how it's going?

berolina · 27/04/2008 00:13

I find I overcomplicate the 5 years thing... start thinking about schools for dses (another sore point over here), and whether/when to try for no. 3 (and then I get ridiculously broody), etc. etc. think I probably just need to dream, and then overlay it with the reality.

night
