For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

IdrisTheDragon · 25/04/2008 18:12

Hello. This thread is very confusing today. Everyone seems to be talking at once (very like this house tbh)

littlerach · 25/04/2008 18:22

CAN I OCME BACK//?/

Oops.

Still crappy typing.

Boco, that made me lolol with your dd2 and writing. I htink she has the same namen as my dd2.

I have eaten F&V today

dried apricots

Curry later.

zippitippitoes · 25/04/2008 18:26

i have made my stew or put it in the oven which i think makes it a casserole and veg wise it has onions garlic leeks red pepper tomatoes mushrooms courgettes

zippitippitoes · 25/04/2008 18:26

S1ur · 25/04/2008 18:40

hello.
I'm feeling very fruity today. Am going to balance this a bowl of salad and an early night

There are an awful lots of posts today, wil try to catch up a bit. Hope all are well

S1ur · 25/04/2008 18:46

Heh I am liking the boob sign offs

(.) (.)

Boco my dd does a similar thing for 'o's she thinks that a simple circle would be lonely and dull so gives it eyes to see with. Very thoughtful girl my dd. She also prefer a moon on a stick sign for her final letter (which is a Y incidentally).

Zippi that sounds lurverly

zippitippitoes · 25/04/2008 18:52

it also has a large piece of beef and red wine

S1ur · 25/04/2008 18:54

Even better, my keyboard is becoming saturated with saliva. I may have to toss the salad, figuratively, for something far more substantial and yum.

FrannyandZooey · 25/04/2008 18:59

Boco I sometimes use these at work - they are sports markers

during the session today ds got down on his hands and knees and started licking one

when asked what he was doing he said "sucking my mummy's big nipple"

I would have been embarrassed about that 5 years or so ago
now I just sniggered

FrayedKnot · 25/04/2008 19:04

Goodness we've been busy today

It's taken me ages to catch up

Welcome to Natty

Hello to everyone else

I take Floradix when I get a bit tired and washed out feeling.

And as someone who has a bit of a slow and cantankerous digestive system, I can vouch for teh fact that following a 10/10 diet makes things a whole lot better

I need to make a pavlova tonight

OsmosisBanana · 25/04/2008 19:15

Ah. Pavlova. Food of the gods.

A useful trick I saw on daily cooks with AWT (horrid little gnome) was to put cornflour and vinegar in it. Apparently pavolva is supposed to be light brown and sticky in the middle and these ingredients help with that.

To think how many years I have spent crying because it wasn't meringuey enough or white enough. Many years. Many many years.

Another useful trick is to just find someone going to or even living in Australia to send you some pavlova eggs. They are ready made mix which you bung water in and they come out damn near perfect every time.

Here endeth the first lesson in pavlova making.

UnderRated · 25/04/2008 19:28

Zippi, you are never tedious. And thank you for listening to me last night. I was wallowing and feeling rather gloomy myself. Your house sounds as stressful as ever

Hope everyone else is ok - you've been very chatty today. I have fixed my wireless internet thingy, changed lightbulbs and cleaned lightshades, scrubbed fridge inside and out, cleaned all toys.

I'm liking all this (.) (.) talk

F&V: marmalade, mushroom barely risotto, grapes

Anne will tell you how to deal with angsty 8 year old boys in a Babara Woodhouse Stylee. I just channel 8-yr-old boys, get under thir grubby biscuity skin and empathise (then feed them cake)
Works for me...
What's the problem Toot?

Fullmoonfiend · 25/04/2008 19:54

BTW, Zippi and other musos - have you heard of natalie merchant? Someone just sent me a you tube link to a song which is sublime called My Skin.

UnderRated · 25/04/2008 19:59
