For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

pinkspottywellies · 23/04/2008 20:58

Hi Kerrymum. Have a lychee

Fullmoonfiend · 23/04/2008 20:58

Hey KM, you've not arrived when we are at our jolliest though...

now, do you eat any veg at all...?

If not, have a look at Mattdancing further down and admire our fine collection of marrows until normal service is resumed.

Now, I knew someone who had this - badly - and she couldn't get about v. comfortably towards the end. But afterwards couldn't go very far for a bit - but then was fine quite soon after.

No wheelchair.

Wheelchairs exist on Google The Very Worst Case Scenario.

Don't be frightened. I think it is quite common isn't it? Common in a good way, common in a Not Many New Mums in a Wheelchair Way.

Do a thread. I think you'll be very reassured by it.

And you should come sit in the yurt when you lose that mojo thing again - not sit unhappily in RL, that is no good at all.

Oh no we slack muchly and expect gold stars and banners when we occasionally hit 10/10! We do sometimes share tips like eating dried fruit on your cereal or having beans in your salads.

Fullmoonfiend · 23/04/2008 21:01

the 10/10 is a buddah-like enlightenment goal which only a few of our most serene members achieve...and they are veggies so it's not as much of a challenge IMHO
I find it prompts me to eat more fruit and veg generally and ocasionally have been known to eschew a mars bar for strawberries!

And sometimes, if we're really bad, Frannyandzooey does Boot Camp

Fullmoonfiend · 23/04/2008 21:01

Oh please miss 100x, did I do Good Finding?

zippitippitoes · 23/04/2008 21:02

Franny, I had SPD. It was bad and I had crutches and they said I may end up in a wheelchair but I didn't. I also gave up on the crutches because I couldn't really work out how to use them properly and they made it worse.
They gave me tubigrip but it gave me tummy ache, and a support belt which was okay ion small doses.
I was walking between 3 and 5 miles a day at the time though.
The best thuing I found was huge cushionings of support at night, esp between knees and under bump, and changing position regularly.
Also, getting up in a special way - can elaborate if necessary.
Oh, and I know you don't swim but fgs do not domanything remotely like breaststroke because it makes everything utter hell.

But after birth, I actually forgot I'd even had spd, it just went.

Fullmoonfiend · 23/04/2008 21:04

oh and i have a note from mum about the excercise thingy...

I reckon my fidgeting is equal to an hour in the gym...

ahundredtimes · 23/04/2008 21:05

Yes, FMF you were spirited and keen. I knew you would be. I think we can all look to you to organize cake stalls and mojo finding.

Kerry. You should come in. I hardly eat any fruit or veg - but I eat more than I used to. I used to just eat brie on the way to school. Mostly I just hang around and wait until we play games. That's my favourite bit.

pinkspottywellies · 23/04/2008 21:08

Ooh nice uniform 100x. And a very impressive bosom!

OsmosisBanana · 23/04/2008 21:08

Slacking is acceptable as far as I can te;ll. Well, they let me in.

FMF what or who is Matt? I agree, most entertaining, but why??

Lully, he's just a wanker. Has been guilting me for months about how he's going to have to finance me to go to uni for degree no 2 (despite me bringing up a newborn - 2yr on my own whilst I supported him thru college) so I agreed to do another day at work.

Blah blah, I told him I'd sorted decent childcare and child tax stuff out and he just ignored me!!!!!

Anyway, i'm just fucking bored of the same old guilt trip. Bring a new argument to the table each week, not the same old bollocks.

FrannyandZooey · 23/04/2008 21:08

sorry for being total downer
do you all see what I mean though? I mention it and about 6 people have said oh yes I had it / friend had it and they couldn't walk - crutches etc

I CAN'T COPE WITH IT
talking about it makes much much worse every time
so no talking about it
but can't think of anything else
so must become hermit person

actually the cake stall thing is a bit of a sore point...

So Teaching assistant rang me and asked me if I would do this month's as she had had enough. I said of course, spent ages doing nice little flyer to send home in book bags and ds miraculously remembered to hand them out on tuesday.
Today he comes home with another flyer by some other upstart mum who has taken it upon herself to do it.
Now do I go in on friday and set up as arranged or do I bow out to Ubermum and let her do it?

OsmosisBanana · 23/04/2008 21:09

I've got over myself now.

Rant over.

OsmosisBanana · 23/04/2008 21:11

OsmosisBanana · 23/04/2008 21:12

IdrisTheDragon · 23/04/2008 21:12

Hello .

I am yet another person who had SPD. I was sore, rolling over in bed was a very long process, but there was nothing worse than that. And when DS was born, it went within about a week.
